What to Submit?
ONE of your original sapphic stanza that is true to its form, old or new, with the theme of your choice.
A single sapphic stanza, or a string of sapphic stanzas (only string examples below).
Sapphic stanza's first three lines have eleven syllables per line. Each sound is; long-short-long-short, long-short-short, long-short-long-short.
The fourth (last) line has five syllables. Each sound is; long-short-short, long-short. NOTE: One or more words must use either or both, the "u" or the "oo" as in moon or spoon, etc., in place of the long sound, furthermore, the short sound is also an "anceps" meaning short or long. This applies ONLY in the fourth (last) line.
A syllable count is required, hence, HMS and/or PS to assist new sapphic stanzas.
A sapphic stanza is basically non-rhyming, meaning that it can be rhymed. Rhymes for this contest can be, exact, or, near. RZ and/or RY to assist new sapphic stanzas.
No names.
