Congratulations on your win. A wonderful write. If bullies as children are not stopped, then they turn into bullies as adults. All so very sad. Many get hurt for no reason. Have a blessed day.................

So true, Paula. I couldn't have said it better.

If I may add to the fault spotting reference below; Matthew 7:3 “And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” Glad to have read your poem tonight and congrats.

Cont. Life is neither just nor fair. Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people, however, we need to be as just and fair as we can be, to be honest with ourselves as well as with others. Try to correct injustice when we see it, and to do as much right in this unfair world as we can. Comeuppance is in the hands greater than ours. An admirable writ my friend, Aloha!

Milt, Aristotle said that being just, "... is a mean between committing injustice and suffering it since the one is having more than one's share, while the other is having less." As recklessness and cowardice are opposing vices of courage, arrogance and servility are opposing vices of justice. It is often the case that we are much better at spotting the faults of others than we are at spotting faults in ourselves. Our blind spots are aptly located to keep us from seeing our own weaknesses. I think I read this somewhere when I was taking a course in ethics in graduate school. It certainly is true that "we are much better at spotting the faults of others than we are at spotting faults in ourselves." Thanks for your thought-provoking comment, William.

And none too soon, Jan. I despise even the hints of bullying.

Even if it was adapted from a wonderful sonnet, this is a poem in and of itself, and, as the saying goes, whatever you put out returns back to you—best wishes for the contest.

As the saying goes, what goes around comes around. I'm a great believer in karma. Tom

Me too, Tom. I think this is a simple way to say what my poem, which required syllables and specific sounds, was saying.
