The Thrill Is Gone

Many years ago, the thrill of traveling was
special to us, mostly in the summer months.
We planned to visit sites never seen before-
outdoing last year's joy.
To Turkey, Mexico, France, and Germany,
Florida, Alaska, Canada, and more;
cruises galore- plane flights over land and sea-
filling photo albums.
Many sights and untold memories had we,
even though, each year was harder to outdo.
Soon, we chose to slow down making travel plans-
enjoy our domain more.
Right here, in our grasp- comforts of our abode;
river view, mountains, trails, plus a lovely pool.
Done with tiresome traveling- the thrill is gone;
replacing home sweet home!
