Join 'Em and Lick 'Em

Filled with lightning, night is the time for thunder.
Marvel not how deafening peals can kindle
bigger brother's' mocking the bogeyman’s sounds,
          "You better watch out!"

Screaming youngsters flee to their parents' bedroom
giving witty parents a chance to join in
shouting loud above all the racket,  "Ice cream!
           Who wants some ice cream?"
