I am Robert James Liguori. I have authored several technical books including The Java Pocket Guide. I have spent twenty years in the aviation community doing software development and testing. Currently, I'm spending my time writing poetry trying to make a small, yet positive difference in this world... one word at a time.

Well it's time! Time for the ninth consecutive Glenn Hughes Poetry Contest! Why Glenn Hughes again... you see he saved my life, on more than one occasion. And the best way I can repay him is to sponsor inspirational poetry contests in his name. You see, I don't sleep... I haven't slept in nearly six years, ever since I received a mystery shot at the psychiatric intervention program. So strange, yet so true. So I listen to Glenn Hughes music all day and all night. And when my troubles get me most, he is there to comfort me and to protect me. In turn, I feel that his contests have yielded some of the best poetry seen on soup. The submitted prose is simply quite amazing. I would personally like to challenge everyone to enter this next Glenn Hughes contest. He has over 50 years of music to choose from. You can pick songs from bands he was in or even songs he has covered. I know you can find something great to inspire you. Please love Glenn... and maybe when you are down, he'll save you too. I don't understand your taste in music but I respect your freedom to sponsor the kind of contest you want. Also I am always able to get inspired to write my own lyrics by viewing lyrics of his songs. Most are kind of dark or sad but maybe I will find some happy ones sometime. Sorry that a stupid mystery shot messed up your life . I had 4 injections of a shot that messed me up, Robert. Let me ask you. Can you at least take naps? I was getting only 4 to 5 hours of sleep and not feeling tired but I missed my 7 hours of sleep and dreams, so I got sleeping pills that worked . Had to try 5 kinds before finding one strong enough to keep me asleep. Maybe there is one out there for you? Good luck! And thanks for my placement. I really enjoyed writing my Fire song.

Music can soothe the savage beast. I can recommend one of my favourite albums by Wishbone Ash called Argus for your listening pleasure. That always calms my soul. Cheers and good luck to ya.

Sorry about your troubles Robert. My brother suffers a sleep disorder too but Zyprexa has been a miracle for him. In any case, some have found help listening to relaxing music or nature sounds. Have you tried it?

Thanks. I’ve tried at least 1/2 dozen sleep medicines nothing works. I don’t think I’ve tried Zyprexa… I’ll tell my psychiatrist about this one thanks. I actually have schizo-affective disorder and I feel the Illuminati personally poisoned my brain. Lol. I’m so screwed up. This is why Glenn Hughes helps me so much. He takes my troubles away.
