I am Robert James Liguori. I have authored several technical books including The Java Pocket Guide. I have spent twenty years in the aviation community doing software development and testing. Currently, I'm spending my time writing poetry trying to make a small, yet positive difference in this world... one word at a time.

It's been one year of Glenn Hughes poetry inspired contests; 14 in total. It's time to move on. What greater step to take than covering the greatest heavy metal band of all time; Iron Maiden. With 50 years of albums, songs and live performances there surely is a lot to choose from. I sit here and i cry in anticipation of the wonderful entries that will be written. So pick the best Iron Maiden song that inspires you and write away. This is a trophy contest. I look forward to reading and judging your artwork.

I`m a huge fan and have been since 1981 when I first heard Ides Of March it blew my young teenage mind. They soon became my favourite band and all these years later they still are. Because of them I started listening to other NWOBHM bands such as Judas Priest, Motorhead, Saxon and many more I still listen to some today and count Priest along with IM as my favourite bands. I`m very excited by this contest. I`m sure I gonna have many wonderful hours of writing, on this subject, ahead of me,

Robert, excellent choice with Maiden. I think '2 minutes to midnight' is one of the best metal songs ever written. Perfect pairing musically and lyrically.

We shall always love Glenn Hughes but it’s time to pass the torch. Long live Iron Maiden!!! I’m listening to their Senjutsu album right now on my vinyl record player!!! Glenn had his year of fame on PoetrySoup it is definitely time to give someone else some visibility. And what’s more visible than Iron Maiden!!!
