I placed four poems on the website during the past week. Some of these poems were published by Amazon under my true name, which is Steven Lawrence Getz. 

'A Poet's Fore-Blurb' that I just posted on Poetry Soup website was the forward to my first book of poetry entitled 'Insights from Life'. Amazon publishing knows that I have already written enough poems for my second book of poetry and their editors have asked me several times for them. I told them that I was not yet ready to publish another book, especially since my first book was not published until this November.

I have been writing poetry for well over a decade now. And I have developed my own poetic style during the past three years. Some of you have found it interesting. Most of my poems have a sense of rhyme. I only do free verse when I think that using 'sing-songy' rhyme would destroy the impact of my poem for the reader. But even then, my free verse poems often contain some rough sense of rhyme. I write my poetry to better understand myself and others, not to make money or win contests. Almost all of my poems have been written in less than two hours, but one took two years to complete.  Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. Steven L. Getz, a poet.
