Enduring

Somehow, difficulties I’ve faced today
Will blend slowly with tomorrows,
And the pains and sorrows I’ve had today
Will morph into fading thoughts tomorrow.
Somehow, yes somehow, I will survive,
And I’ll be much, much stronger for it.
For I always strive to stay alive,
And never ever deign to permit
Mistakes of my near and distant past
To drown my hopes, dreams, and grit
As life’s growing pains and sorrows persist.
Of one thing I am sure, I must endure.
I must always, always, always endure.
