From too much zimstern, zabaglione and ziti-
Zucchini, zwieback, zeppoles, and zeps;
Zillion zitherns of zirconia
Zinging on zephyrs for the zazzy
Zemni zealous zeal for Zambonis,
Zeaxanthin zaps zinc zombie zones,
Zoographer’s zest for the zygote Zen zenith -
Zaffer zecchino of zebra finch in zamia,
Zorse in the zoysia with zinnia zepplins
Zimmers ziffs filled with zindandel zeatin,
Zorillas in zoot suits zoom like zodiac zircons
Zebrafish zithers and zorse zoology
Zippity-do-da - ziplining zorros
Zero in on zonal zapateados zip codes
Zydecos zing with zuppa and zibibs

you made it real
i am still living in history
my heart's tattoo has been broken
day 1,000,000 will be tomorrow
if time was in a freezer, i would be the red snowman
if you were the thermometer, i would be mercury in search of somebody to love
if God was my throat, i would be the high octave in passionate need of your attention
if you were a gentle angel, i would be the bell that rings that pretty smile on your face
day 20,000,000 in time
it was five minutes ago
you made it permanent
i am still tongue kissing the cubic zirconia
my heart's center diamond has been removed
on the billionth day, i die slowly from icicle consumption

It's true the grass is not
always greener on that
other side.
We have the same eye color.
We even have the same
body type.
But there's one big difference

He Found A Cubic Zirconia In The Rough
he sat at the bar looking over at her tee
in bold letters it read catch and release me
after a few drinks he was game
closing on the brink of her flame
his shrank as she imparted a handling fee

It’s your anniversary so
you’re thinking steak
but your wife wants ramen
so you go to a nice place
and order the fancy ramen
which comes with radishes
cut up to look like rosebuds
and costs as much as steak.
You slurp away with
the best of the regulars
until a gold crown falls
from a molar into the ramen.
Seconds later another
gold crown falls off as well.
The next day the dentist says
you need new crowns.
The old ones won’t fit.
He tells you the new ones
will be made of zirconia.
They'll cost $900 each
cheaper than gold
he says in consolation.
In shock you ask him
what do the homeless do.
He says there’s no ER
for dental work but
he’s heard about
a retired dentist
must be in his eighties
who goes into the city
one Saturday a month
and does charity work.
He needs help
your dentist says.
And more folding chairs
in the waiting room.

From charcoal surround to beauty, under pressure an imitation
Synthesizing, mixing, pressing
Brilliant, cubic,
Zirconia
I wear depression
as a crown
I take anxiety
and fold it up
I pour it out of my heart
into a soulless cup
Feet tangled in fear
limping through life
hypocrites everywhere
but pretending it's clear
Standing out
because you look real
not pretending
while wearing
plastic hands and
trying to feel
This is to all my sisters,
Who are in the market for a Grand Marqui.

See i knew this jeweler who's work was well known
Many admired his work without having work done.
His cuts were made with precision
his angles were made with perfection
and he captured every spectrum of light
But see this was no diamond in the ruff just a cubic zirconia
for half price.

C is for cutting, crimson and crying
D is for daemons, death, darkness, and dying
E is for everything gone wrong in your life
F is the freedom you find in the knife
G is for gothic, straight from the womb

I is for immortal- you've commited suicide ten times already
J is for the jaded and emotionally unsteady
K is the knife you "accidentally" misplaced
L is for losers, lost life and lace
M is for makeup that cakes up your face
N is the nightlight to keep away the dark you "embrace"
O is because you're obviously obscure
P is for poetry or prose- you're not sure
Q is for quiet, you sit all alone
R is for razors when no one picks up the phone
S is for screamo you can't get enough
T is for tears damn, being fourteen is tough!
U is for ubiquitous mental disease
V is for vacant vacuous vampire wanna-be's
W is for whiny,well-fed suburbanite teens
X is for Xanax- you know what it means
Y is for youth spent all about you and your anhedonia
