Premium Member What Is Friendship POTD

friendship can be great
looking when will I find you
will that be today
are you now looking for me
will our search go on and on

there you stood looking
oh you came out of no where
what a big surprise
our friendship is a flower
fun and laughs are everywhere

our fun and laughs turn
it all goes so very wrong
hurt and pain from words
tears running like a river
why did our friendship go bad

Premium Memberloving words

words can be snazzy, sparkly and fun
they can uplift and enlighten
they can hurt and destroy

they can turn into party animals
wearing colorful ensembles
they can entertain and entice

words are more versatile than anyone else I have ever met
maybe that is why I love them more than most people
but certainly not more than I love my dogs

Normalcy

A return to Normalcy
As night comes, all are at ease
We return to slumber
In the electric comfort
Of artificiality that is our lives
We revel in the false sense of our own
Modern conveniences
We forget the thin veil between
Our electric life, truth of nature’s brutality
Of our existence, we believe we are
Immune to the real world, harsher realities
Till only a loss of electric life or death, finite
Our comfort zone is rot, lost, and won
Something jars us back to reality
Of the world so frail
So it goes for everything n anyone
We are wrapped in ourselves
We are ignorant of the truth, in flesh
We hid in the comfort of our arrogance
We whitewash our history
We tell ourselves one thing
We miss direct our attention
With glamour, illusions, n media broadcasts
Peel back the thin layer of civility
See the bones of mortality
The flesh of humanity
The blood of our souls, vanity
We are primal and dangerous
Everything foretold, lost
We are comforted by our excesses
We fear what we cannot hold
And believe all we are sold
As we turn in for a much-needed reprieve
A needed night's rest, we are in our woolen
Wilds and slumber in our hypocrisy.

Premium MemberWords Cut

Too many opinions.
Too many people sharing their minds.
Is it too hard to sit and think before you speak?
Don’t you think our own conscience cuts us down enough?
Or maybe you don’t care.
Little do you know, I am my hardest critic.
I want to do my best, yet my best isn’t enough.

DAMAGE

I open my mouth
My anger spills out
I say things I don’t mean
And mean things I won’t say
Damage

Oh such damage

Strangers or friends
Words I can’t defend
Family is broken
From words that I’ve spoken
When will it end?
Damage

Too much damage

So conflicted
I’ve inflicted
So much hurt
So much pain
Words like weapons
Sharper than knives
Killing dreams
Shredding lives
Damage

Unjustified
Unspeakable
Damage
Bludgeoning words
Shattered spirits
Wounded hearts
Crippled lives
Killing words
Chilling words
Handful of syllables
Damage

Premium MemberMisconstrued

you misunderstood my words
assumed the worst
where that anger came from
i’ll never know

you closed the door
without a glance
you walked away
and that was that

you weren’t the friend
i thought you were
but from my heart
i wish you well

the sting will hurt
but not forever,
may life be good to you ~

Premium MemberVolcanic Eruption Of The Soul

Words both good or bad are very powerful,
bad words said are like a volcanic eruption to the soul.
Why do family and friends hurt each other,
do they not understand what it does to the other person ~
volcanic eruption of the soul takes place.
These painful words and actions are like hot lava,
hot lava running out from ones soul.
This volcanic eruption can only be stopped with love,
or by separation.
As I stand like a mountain tall and strong,
there will be no more hot lava volcanic eruptions of the soul.

Premium MemberWords You Can't Take Back

We have all had that moment of frustration
We search for words that hurt out of desperation
Having a hard time sorting out our feelings
That's the moment we become harsh in our dealings
There are times we fight to be understood
Wishing we can take back the words if we could
It doesn't pay to speak out when we're mad
We say things that leave scars which is bad
Relationships are lost and love isn't regained
Scars can heal but the words always remain
Your emotions are running high don't go no further
Whatever you say at present can ruin the future
When it comes to anger it's an honest and true fact
Never say anything you know you can't take back

The Poet

Once upon a dreary time
A boy set out to note a rhyme
Pen in hand with paper lined
Prepared he was to share his mind
But thoughts lay barren and confined
Without sense, reason, or rhyme
Suffered he did this weary time
Both his soul and cheerless mind
His eyes grew dark, his face grew lined
And tho he sought to redesign
Something, anything it need not be fine
But the words would not align
And in his room he did confine
To seek and pray for some sweet sign
For the intercession of the divine
To show, to prove verse sublime
But chaos reigned and nothing aligned
And so he collapsed under weight of his crime
Chained by shackles of his own design
Weeping tears by misery primed
The poet thus became the sad mime.

Premium MemberA Empty Heart Holds

"In life we learn from love, hurts, mistakes and from the ones we have trusted." By Poet

My heart once held love overflowing,
joy was bursting at the seams and glowing.
That was before you came along,
you did me so very wrong.
Filling my loving heart with pain,
I will never do this again.
Now I will guard my hurt and empty heart,
you have made me very smart.
No more bad words and lies,
for now I have become wise.

words can hurt

Words can hurt
Black and white are in a fight
But no one seems to find the light
Don't climb the ladder
Tearing down other for you to rise
The generation’s are being racist
Someone needs to stop the latest
Words can hurt
2 words can equal ten tears
it's been going on for all these years
Fill a bucket
Don't just chuck it
Words can hurt
More than a shove
Someone please just show some love
The anger is rising just like the temperatures
Please just someone be mature
Have racism exist no more
Words can hurt
Don't just blurt

Words I have questions yet no one has
All the answers.

Words have an impact, Sometimes heal
And oftentimes hurt.

Words breathe hope choose wisely.

Words are soothing similar to the Sea.

Words are one's State of Mind flowing
Like Frequencies.

Premium Memberpower of words

“words when soft-spoken soothe, when harshly spoken hurt
~ say something kind, say nothing and hold unkind words.”

Premium MemberThe Power of Words

some words wound and some heal
some words seeping down, hearts steal.
some words hit hard, some deeply cut
some meant to praise, but some to insult.

some stay inert, dead on the lips.
some cement cracks, but some widen gaps.
some serve as balm to those who are broken.
some, to beautiful relationships, new doors open.

some words comfort, some are aimed to assault.
some, hit hard and pierce like a thunderbolt
God, help me utter words that uplift
use right words at the right time, a gift.

I know words have the power to heal n' hurt
to bring joy and tears alike in other’s heart.
Lord anoint my lips with grace to utter words sweet,
so that, in others, they would open inlets of delight.

Premium MemberThorns vs Skin

"The pretty rose has thorns to keep her safe." Quote By Poet

Who will keep me safe like thorns on a rose?
Only skin to protect my feelings.
