Travis shot a black man, he says it was self defense
They put him in solitary, that punishment is intense.
For 27 months he was in "the hole" let out for just one hour
where he could use a phone, exercise, and shower.

Then he got a new jail, in a ten by eight cell

When I wake up I immediately feel grateful that I woke…

I remind myself to make this day count
for I will never have this day again.

It Was Raining When I Woke Up

It was raining when I woke up early this morning and it’s expected to rain all day.  The temperature outside is in the low fifties; cold and gloomy and perfectly in line with how I’m feeling.
