Lots of whys
in life:
Why this,
and not that?
And, dear Lord, of
all Your unlimited whys
why on earth this?!
And the whens, wheres
and hows
no less confounding --
explicitly, words do not
resolve themselves alone
dictionaries often shelf
what needs to be actively open
and boundless in mind --
the scholar paints
their arid landscapes
while the poet gives them
or-gasm --
Do older women wear gloves
To hide their wrinkles?
Camouflage their age spots?
To try to look fancy, dainty or demure?
To look feminine?
They usually wear pink, white, yellow or light green gloves.
Few of them wear black gloves.
Is this on purpose or by accident?
Maybe manufacturers never make black tea gloves
What is up with older women’s hair?
Why do they dye it power blue, pink and lavender?
Are they trying to be punky?
I began to spy on them, to try and figure it out.
I watched them waddle into churches yesterday
All puffed, pumped and primed.
Only one was stumbling on heels
Why do older women wear flats?
may be many whys
which have been asked by the wise
when God realize
may have to send it
becoming independent
by God would be meant
have been pressing views
which were exposed in the news
to believe refuse
Could you tell me why most hippopotami
Weigh about as much as a truck
In the animal kingdom diets are not common
So they're really poop out of luck
A donkey with wings or an ass that sings
Quite an image I have in my mind
Some like listening to a cockatoo warble
But I think that's quite assinine
Now why do most newborns poop at will
They emerge without manners
Farting in front of friends and neighbours
Sure makes you stutter and stammer
When misplacing an important document
You find it in the last place you look
Why not look there in the first place I wonder
You'll be stunned at the short time it took
Admit I ain't perfect but who the hell is
Sometimes I dribble in my beard
Imagine it sounds quite disgusting to you guys
A snack for when bedtime is near
Why do we cringe at the sound of one's nails
Screeching across a blackboard
Sends chills up and down our li'l ole spines
Can feel 'em right now, oh Lord!
Could you tell me why most hippopotami

I have a few whys that really bother me
like why when it rains do I pee frequently?
Why do some people enjoy wearing wigs?
Why do some men act like pigs?
Why don't cars have more of a buffer?
Why do people have to suffer?
Why do certain fabrics crinkle?
Why does old skin have to wrinkle?
Why doesn't a red head's hair turn gray?
Why won't Drs. listen to what their patients have to say?
Why won't any one write a letter?
Why isn't our world getting any better?
More and more and many more whys
Are all abundant with many supplies
Then we become difficult and unsure
Irrational while being hard to endure.
By reading Bible I am often annoyed
Appreciated other parts and enjoyed
Heart pounds if things are prophetic
Things had proved to be quite hectic.
Certain sections often have selected
Many errors needed to be corrected
Conclusion much attention did draw
Wrote poems about as things we saw.
COVID cases are disasters we regret;
Become confused and highly upset
Had alowed God to become envolved
Answers found and problems solved.

Some people say Old Mother Goose
Never had her neck in a noose
She loved to play
Every day
No wonder she had a screw loose!
How can you know the why;
'While you're embracing how;
When you begin to cry,
Come be of love;
Follow those paths
And what has left our those dead ends;
Why the hows trends;
Cry love while walking to those dead;
end paths

The wind asks,
rainfalls,
mouth shuts,
leg walks,
sole prints,
age perishes,
the skin remain asides,
destiny fight protests,
life has no whys,
but remain with who's.
All things begin and end with God
That's why no 'why' is really hard
And all the whys that ever were
And all that ever be
Were answered before we thought to ask
By God and his divinity.
The answers came before the whys
The chicken before the egg
And walking was a spiritual act
Before the feet and legs.
Baby chicks come from chickens
The egg is just the way
And answers are just waiting
For the whys we'll ask someday.
If we be just and oh, so wise
There is an answer to the whys.

You're fooling yourself
You don't need that to fly
You don't need that to burn
You don't need that to cry.
Use it as an excuse
Blot out reason for why?
Try to justify
But don't expect me to see why
You don't even try
A day would soon go by
A start of being dry?
But what the hell's the use?
Of trying to convince you?
You don't need that to fly
Let it rule your life
Let it take control of your mind
Why should you put up a fight?
Sit there, drink it all tonight!
Your pride's too tough to make the call
To stand and look into your eyes
To face up to your lies
You feed yourself the whys!
The reasons you despise
The man behind your eyes
You don't listen to his cries.
Why is this life so hard
Why cant we all just get along
Why do I get blamed?
We all have problems and we all have trials
But why put that on me?!!!
Its not my fault you all fight
It's not my fault you cant be happy
SO WHY BLAME ME?
I hate you for it all you have ruined everything
You make me cry and hurt
This pain needs to leave!!
WHY ME, WHY NOW?
WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY
Thats all I can ask!!
So i say to you, you leave or I will you don't belong!!!
Why is jealousy green? She asks.
I've pondered on that before.
To write a poem about it,
I must think on it some more.
There are so many puzzlements
All entangled in my head.
Those who could have enlightened me
I fear are a long time dead.
I turn first to the Internet
For it seems someone has done
The research and has posted it
On every subject under the sun.
Sure enough, I find it there,
The answer to my question.
It makes good sense and so I'll choose
This reason as the best one.
It's the color of one's aura,
Which only the gifted can see.
The color green is dominant
When we're consumed with jealousy.
Fellow Poets take your questions,
Just go straight to the Internet.
Look up everything on Paula's list
You'll find the answer, I"ll bet.
For Paula's question "Why is jealousy the color green?" Won 8th place
