The Whys and What Fors

Why is jealousy green? She asks. I've pondered on that before. To write a poem about it, I must think on it some more. There are so many puzzlements All entangled in my head. Those who could have enlightened me I fear are a long time dead. I turn first to the Internet For it seems someone has done The research and has posted it On every subject under the sun. Sure enough, I find it there, The answer to my question. It makes good sense and so I'll choose This reason as the best one. It's the color of one's aura, Which only the gifted can see. The color green is dominant When we're consumed with jealousy. Fellow Poets take your questions, Just go straight to the Internet. Look up everything on Paula's list You'll find the answer, I"ll bet. For Paula's question "Why is jealousy the color green?" Won 8th place
