On the edge of a world unfolding like a softly whispered dream,
half inside, half outside, its center remains unshaken.
This is the woman who knows the depths of her being,
emerging from within like a flame that knows no cold.
She carries her soul like a sacred, untouched temple,
protecting her essence from shadows trying to dance around her.
She finds her strength within, like a root piercing the earth,
she knows she will triumph, that in life's battle she will always have the drive.
When she looks at the sea with its waves in crescendo,
she knows she can face the storm, turning her face towards the sun,
seeking happiness in the rising light, in the life that surrounds her.
She distances herself from the darkness, from sunsets that bring only coolness.
She wishes to bathe only in pure light,
keeping shadows and demons at bay.
She guards her essence, keeping her peace like armor,
fleeing from all that is evil, in search of the celestial smile.
Half inside, half outside, but always centered,
she knows the truth about herself, her path unaltered.

Premium MemberWithin the Whispered Wind

Within the whispered wind, bumble bees
fly their syncopated figure eights.
Praying mantises fall to their knees
	…within the whispered winds.

Rich blessings float from heavenly gates
and set kissing dragonflies at ease
before all worldly sorrow abates.

Sunday psalms sung softly in the breeze
settle where the flock congregates.
Hallowed ambience exudes heartsease
	…within the whispered wind.

Whispered Promises

In the quiet of the evening’s glow,
Two hearts whisper promises, soft and slow.
With every star that lights the night,
Their love shines pure, a guiding light.

The Dance of Hearts
Upon the winds, their spirits fly,
Twirling beneath the vast, open sky.
In rhythm, their souls gently sway,
In a dance of love, day by day.

Timeless Embrace
A love that transcends the hands of time,
In every heartbeat, a gentle rhyme.
Their souls entwined, forever bound,
In the silence, their truth is found.

Blossoms of Love
Like blossoms in the springtime air,
Their love blooms with tender care.
Each petal whispers stories untold,
In this garden of hearts, love unfolds.

Eternal Flame
A flame that flickers, never fades,
In shadows and light, their love pervades.
Through life's seasons, come what may,
An eternal flame guides their way.

Love's Symphony
In harmony, their lives compose,
A symphony of highs and lows.
With every note, their love ascends,
A melody that never ends.

whispered shadow

WHISPERED SHADOW

She flaunts her way into my mind,
A beautiful chaos, cruel yet kind.
A disaster to see, a tale untold,
A fire so warm, yet burning cold.

Her scent lingers both day and night,
A whispered ghost, a fleeting light.
Her teeth peek softly through her smile,
A charm that lingers all the while.

She drifts like wind through fields so wide,
A shadow that refuses to hide.
Her mind’s a storm, yet laced with grace,
A childlike wonder, lost in space.

She locks her heart, conceals her pain,
Yet tears still fall like silent rain.
In morning, evening, through the years,
She hides her sorrow, masks her tears.

A sorrow deep, a smile so bright,
A fading star in endless night.
As I depart, she breaks inside,
And so, we bid our last goodbye.

Whispered in the Dark

he comes when the hush of midnight falls
slipping through walls like a sigh in the air
his touch is the ghost of forgotten calls
fingers of frost in the silk of her hair

he kneels where the candle’s shadow sways
his breath like a whisper that never fades
he murmurs her name in the hush of the haze
his voice dripping sorrow that time never trades

her lashes tremble, her lips part slight
though she dreams, she knows he’s near
his hands trace memories spun of light
soft as the echoes she aches to hear

his fingers graze her tear-streaked skin
she turns to the warmth that will never stay
but the dawn is cruel, it calls him in
and steals him from her, a wraith in the gray

Whispered Steps at Midnight

Wind howls along the cobbled street,
Sin prowls where shadows twist and meet.
Doors creak though none are standing near,
Shores leak the mist that whispers fear.

Lights fade as echoes start to grow,
Nights trade their peace for something low.
Steps sound but no one's in my sight,
Breath drowned beneath the grip of night.

Written: January 16, 2025, for contest Sponsored by: Sara Kendrick

                          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I'm aged echoes utter to unfold,
I recall a time that was brief as flame,
Humming of lapsed whispers reckon my name,
By the warmth of dusk, my soul is consoled;
We strive to hold our chisel with each breath,
An epic tale where your hoarse dreams run high,
You moved into the dimness, morphing sigh,
And discovered a gold heart before death;
Eternal seas that wash upon the shore,
Contain the truths that age shall not disclaim,
Each wave a metaphor for life’s acclaim,
As tides remind you love is at its core.
Catching My Heart
I’ve lost my heart among the woods,
Where now it flutters in the drafts
And moves about close secrets kept
Within the floras’ whispered breath.
I know because there glimpses break
Between the bark-skinned living things,
Where there it flows from one to next
In jubilant discovery.
I feel it yet, though standing yon,
Of how the boughs absorb the sun
Among the shafted beams of light
That pierce the hazy, busy air.
Despite observing, yet I sense
The stirring of euphoria
That rises from the forest floor
To giant heights within my heart.
I think that I should join with it
If I can catch it in a pause,
For time can pass so ever slow
And ever speed to its demise.
Premium MemberI've whispered to a raindrop
I've spoken to a raindrop; It listened so intently in its special way
A life so blessed that I never want to end; my only wish is to stay
I've whispered to a raindrop; it offered me seclusion in its special way
Of my thoughts darkest collusion, a demon’s fire it would offer to slay
I've confided in a raindrop; It held onto my hand in its special way
Shared all my tears as they're hidden safely, my secrets discreetly stored away
I've divulged into a raindrop; it touched my salted cheeks in its special way
Special is the way, it asked me to walk with it, while it down poured for a day
I've disclosed into a raindrop; what my heart wouldn't dare in its special way
Next time I see the storm, I will listen, never leaking what it has to say
I've imparted to a raindrop; its value proposition is its special way
Within this budding liquid friendship our love is so much more fluid per se
I've lay bare into a raindrop; dysphoria concealed in a special way
So thankful, I am for all this rain, clouding another wonderful birthday
1.
They are all liars,
Talking about others
Behind their backs,
Thinking they are better.
2.
But everyone has
Their own faults.
They don’t see
The pain a person hides,
Just because they’re smiling.
3.
A day will come,
A day when they are judged
For all the things
They have done.
4.
All I feel for them is pity—
Pity for the words
They’ve spoken,
For the things
They’ve done.
5.
Everyone has
Their own flaws,
Yet they still judge
Others for theirs.
But I am no better
Than they are.
6.
I prefer words said to my face,
Rather than whispered behind my back.
They’re all hypocrites—
They smile at you,
Then stab you in the back.
They change colors
As quickly as a chameleon.
Premium MemberYou whispered to me
You whispered to me: "From where does this strange melancholy arise
That ascends like a mountain on a silent, empty plain?"
When the soul has finished its harvest, we feel
Life is a wound. This secret we all know.
It's a pure suffering, not at all enigmatic
And clear, like you when you smile and brighten the world
Don't search in vain, my beautiful curious one
And now, although your voice is so melodic, be silent!
Be silent, uninitiated one! Soul that knows no darkness!
Innocent mouth! Even more than Life
Death has often caught us in its subtle traps
Better to intoxicate myself with an illusion and peacefully
Sink into your clear eyes as in a dream
And gently fall asleep in the shadow that slips from your eyelids!
Premium Memberlacy things and whispered kisses
Oh, would that I could speak of love
Of passion and of red high heels
Of lacy things and whispered kisses
But if I did all would be memory
Soft twinges teasing a timid heart
A shadow cast on a distant stage
And yet I speak for love remains
Weary eyes and veined hands
Searching in a darkened warmth
For lacy things and whispered kisses
For passion without red high heels
Oh, would that I could speak of love
Whispered Words
Whispered words waft through the shadows,
spoken low by luscious lips;
tempting teases to the senses
spurred by Steele’s most steamy scripts.
Whispered words ‘neath weeping willows,
meekly veiled by midnight’s mist;
mentions of those magic moments,
luscious lips so lightly kissed.
Whispered words weave hearts with wonder
melding moments lush with love;
binding bodies soft in shadows
‘neath the mystic moon above.
Sun whispered to me the secrets of the flesh
Sun whispered to me the secrets of the flesh
and I offered them to you.
I searched in your eyes looking for guilt
while a kiss was hanging below the leaps
looking for an opportunity to reach higher
while the hands, in my mind, had taken
their position around your body.
When we felt to put our arms around
each others body, I heard the beating of a hart
and didn't know if it was mine, yours or ours,
I only understood  that life wants us to bond together,
because men is nothing  more than a beating hart.
