In the twilight's golden glow,
Where the sighing breeze does blow,
A hushed song fills the tranquil air.
A melody that's beyond compare.

The trees sway in a graceful dance.
As the wind weaves its whispered romance,
Leaves rustling in rhythm, so serene,
Nature's orchestra, a living dream, keen.

The moonlight bathes the world in silver.
As stars twinkle, a celestial quiver
"The silent song of the sighing breeze"
Of love and longing across the seas,

Through valleys and mountains, it softly glides,
Bringing solace to hearts that have cried
In the stillness of the night's embrace,
The breeze's song paints a picture of grace.

Whispered melodies, gentle and true,
They speak of love, of hopes anew,
Of dreams that blossom under the moon,
And the promises whispered in lovers' tune.

In every rustle, in every sigh,
The breeze tells stories of days gone by.
Of lovers' kisses under starlit skies,
Of stolen moments and passionate ties.

It carries secrets from distant lands.
Whispered melodies from afar-off sands.
The hushed song of the sighing breeze,
Brings peace and comfort and puts hearts at ease.

The Whispered Song

The warrior lays her weary head,
With heavy heart she cannot bear,
Burning tears stream down her face,
As whispered memories touch the ear.

Her armour tarnished by remorse,
Her battle-cry a wimpered row,
Her wounds, of which bleed solitude,
Will never know forgiveness now.

The song began two score ago,
When two came knocking at her door,
In need of refuge from the world,
Of that, and love, and little more.

Forced to fight for every smile,
Her only solace found in song,
She longed for love to rescue her,
And plant her where she could belong.

Jealous tongues are seldom kind,
Self-seeking hearts know nought of love,
The caged canary only sings,
When coaxed to praise from up above.

For the steely spine that now I own,
Forever shall I grateful be,
A gift from her, and from her own.
Courage mounted inwardly.

I'll not forget how I have loved thee,
And youthful memories I will prize,
Til on the shore of His forgiveness,
Whereto now, we both shall rise.

Premium Member Prayers Soft, Dim and Whispered

 ~~

Oh sweet the forest path where I always meet tranquility,
Thoughts of peace that mingle with the sky above me;
A king has created a forest circle, a ring so calm,
An earthly realm, so heavenly and full of divinity and sanctity.

I draw out my muse and ponder in awe my life,
A princess born my parents tell me, now ageless is my spirit;
Roses red stab my fingers and I have bled into the earth,
And we the children of the world are free to find a path.

With him, the king and with prayers, soft, dim and whispered.

Whispered Words

Whispered words waft through the shadows,
spoken low by luscious lips;
tempting teases to the senses
spurred by Steele’s most steamy scripts.

Whispered words ‘neath weeping willows,
meekly veiled by midnight’s mist;
mentions of those magic moments,
luscious lips so lightly kissed.

Whispered words weave hearts with wonder
melding moments lush with love;
binding bodies soft in shadows
‘neath the mystic moon above.

Take me
Take me within your soul
Devour me with your words
Love me with your poetic desires

You speak of times long ago
You speak of passions long since gone
You walk on roses, and bleed your love
You caress me with your tears

High in the mountains, you have no fear
All the warriors are down below
The battle is love, other men not the foe
Kiss me now, be done with your fears

I am the meadow of your earthly desires
Paint me, write of me, I am yours
Kiss the dreams you once had long ago
Angels of the past will see you through

Heaven is not an eternal place
Is a love that burns eternal
Seek not the paradise of heaven
I am here, you are now

Devour me

Whispered Exchanges

It took time for the soldier to realize,

that no one was truly self-sufficient,

after the raids and the bombings, hunger materialized,

and life seemed insufficient,

the villagers took refuge in a form of weakness,

as they watched their government fail,

and their lives sail,

unable to ask for any kind of help or guidance,

because of their own blood trail,

left by strangers in their land,

as most of these bystanders

become prisoners to a foreign command,

these thoughts flashed through the soldiers head,

as he walked around the countless dead,

he fought so many wars and won,

and he knew when another war starts,

they’ll take his son,

he gazed at the sleeping form of an old woman,

wrapped in a filthy sheet,

as she rocked nervously on the side of the street,

and small children huddled together,

and it appeared they haven’t had a bite to eat,

they simply watched and waited,

and for the most part,

that’s what the soldier hated,

these sights tugged at his heart,

but he was just following the chains of command,

there were whispered exchanges,

but he knew God would somehow understand.

Premium Member A Little Birdie Whispered In My Ear

"Time to take the Soup off the stove,"
a little birdie whispered in my ear:
'Tis the Sabbath Queen that's drawing near."

But the Soup's not done, I dared to say
   in an unpoetic, defiant way

The little birdie just looked at me
with pity, but not with sympathy

Shook his head and moved his beak:
"Sabbath's come; the Soup is done.
~ So's all your work for this week!"

Whispered Into the Air

I admire the tree in silence.
The way it clings to the rock
And works its way down into the river
Down into the earth.
I think about the knowledge of man.
All the things that men have told me
about the tree – about botany or biology.
They have said this
They have said that
Words whispered into the air and gone in time.
Knowledge is worthless in comparison to beauty
This tree is magnificent
And that is enough for me.

Premium Member Whispered In the Night

under the glint of moonlight
by the sea in the veil of solitude
can it be we're more in tune
to the quiet murmur of our soul

can we better hear the whisper
of its longing and desire
divulging its deep dark secret
its most profound and fondest wish

under the solitude of moonlight
do we dare listen so intently
as to expose the hidden meaning
that would have us chasing our soul's dream

Whispered On the Wind

These days are short, as I begin
to walk—my daily custom now—
toward the place where, after
treatment, you lie resting.
I dream each day of when
I'll come and take you home.

But then I hear my name,
whispered on the wind, and
words besides that simply say,
"Sundial. Five o'clock today.
A message waits for you."
And with this, the wind falls silent.

On langourous summer days we'd often
wander in the park until we came to
where that sentinel of silence stood and
watched, as minutes drifted by,
implacably, the gnomon's shadow gliding—
one polished marble marker to the next.

Well into season now, the
autumn air has chilled my face.
And westward, the ruddy sun's
disk settles, its destiny fulfilled.
I look down toward the dial just
as the shadow grows indistinct.

The mark etched there means
that five o'clock has just passed.
I pause awhile but then turn back
to where l had just come, for
in the silence there that deafens,
I know that you are gone.

Dedicated to those who have lost a loved one to the Covirus and disdain for those who don't seem to care; their number is legion.

Premium Member He Whispered My Name

I almost gave up,
Then He whispered my name
I almost went off the trail,
Then He whispered my name

I felt unwanted,
I felt unloved,
I felt like I couldn’t go on,
But then He whispered my name,

He told me “it’s not my time”
He lifted me up,
To face a new day
He took me down to the valley

To show me my strength
Then I heard his voice
“I knew you could do it”,
A whispered refrain…

You just got to believe
Just a little faith that is all it takes,
Now even when I’m down in the valley,

I have reason to smile, because
Even down in the valley,
My strength is renewed,
Shaped into the form,
He knew I could be,
He continues to whisper my name…

Whispered Affections

Whispered Affections

Whispered affections
on cold cotton winds
float gently this morning
in search of your smile

So in them you’ll hear
every feeling I send
of wintertime wishes
to hold for a while

Though in this sunrise
of dawn’s early scene
the distance seems farther
that we are apart

Still I can not help
but to follow my dream
for this love is endless
that flows from my heart

Whispered Reminder

Every breath that I breathe...

brings a scented breeze filled with love,
floating between each crystalline snowflake
on a chilled winter’s eve,
swirling through autumn’s painted leaves
coating the earth in beauty,
warmed by spring’s eternal flow of jasmine petal fragrance,
soften while meandering along a secluded beach
skimming waves in rhythmic sonnets beneath palm leaf dances
purified by the sun of summers past,
returning to me as a whispered reminder that...

you are every breath that I breathe

Whispered

Whispered.
A sound undistinguished,
forcing the ears to listen
more intently,
giving the mind, flashing
images of the whisperer.

We both know only you and I
are here.
We both know neither you, nor I
spoke, full voice or
in a whisper.

The animals caught it, too,
lifting their heads to the sound.
A low, rumbling growl, is emitted by the
dog, as hair on his back rises.
The hairs on my arms and neck rise, too,
in response to the sound.
A cold chill enters the room
and we look at each other,
sure someone has entered,
though the doors are locked
and we see no one.

If a mind can travel in fear,
to respond to imagined words,
how far can it travel in joy?

Locked in the parlor, not
wishing to move to the whisper;
in joy I'd travel to the moon and
beyond.
Yet here we are, choosing to be frozen
by fear.

Whispered Poem

~

I am but a whispered poem
captured in your silken thread
Written of this found affection,
floating on the thoughts now said

Softer than a moonbeam flower
drifting ‘long the shimmered mist
Quietly my verses offer
tenderness in stardust kiss

Fluttering across the heavens,
glistening this autumn night
Gaze upon my vast reflection,
take this dream of endless flight

Listen as your heart is beating,
know that all you hear is true
For I come of promised wishes,
sent to bring my love to you
