A Whiff of spring

  Cherry blossoms
blowing in the wind …    
  a whiff of spring            

A Faint Whiff of Perfume

    A stray lock of hair
       in the corner right there

    In the parlor, a faint whiff of perfume

    The couch messy and wrinkled
       piano’s ivories uncovered and tinkled
    I know

A Whiff of Carbolic

I sniff at my hands and oh!
Such scent, such ecstasy,
a memory presented to my nose.
But where do we find this block of adorable redness?

It was sold in every shop: lovable carbolic soap,
an aromatic compound, so ruddy, so redolent.
But this is now so rare; it merely
presents itself to my pleading mind -

a psyche that puts forth

Skew - Whiff

When life has gone skew-whiff
And best laid plans have gone awry 
When everything is topsy turvy 
And you're winging it on the fly 

There is something you can do 
To rectify the situation 
Don't waste another moment
Go and run off on vacation 

It's a radical approach
Not to stay and tough it out
And instead hope problems

Skew-Whiff

see the seesaw sea
send its waves to rock 
the barrel stave wooden seahorse 
to and fro, askew and slow

though I'm feeling 
skew-whiff in the waddle
and iffy sickly not well
I think I'll stay
riding the bare-back bronco
to whittle the whiles away 
letting the be, what's may
till the break of day

The Whiff Was Something Else Now

Miss Maisy cow with a floral headdress crown
You are ever so gorgeous, all the way around
Never have we seen a prettier bovine than you
Too bad your cow pie has stuck to my shoe.

It was okay until I tried to pry it off.
Some old lady was wheezing with a hard cough.
Whew! The whiff was something else

tall tree trivet tents 
tempt thrush toucan and trogon ---
tantalizingly tempting 

crude cute corals crawl 
calm candescent capricious ---
caressing captivating

Who shines like an angel from heaven above.

Life is like an epic film,
That has just begun
It has lots of pages

Not yet known to you,
Will you and your sweetheart
Stay together,
And be forever true?

Like the magnificence of the rose

My friends have already revealed that I'm in loved with you
That's why I don't know what to do nor to say.

A whiff of Spring’s
A lovely thing
And oh, such joy
It seems to bring!

A sunny bench
Helps to unclench
The stress and sadness
I can’t quench.

It will not last;
Tonight a blast
Of frigid air
Will come on fast.

But that small whiff
Reminds me if
I wait, there’ll soon
Be blooms to sniff.

A Whiff of Breeze

Seated on a whiff of breeze
Hanging in the air
I gazed at the moon
Huddled in the arms of the sky.
 
The moon waved at me
With winking eyes
Inviting me to partake
In the festivities of colored hues
Blossoming slowly to the songs
Of birds returning to their nests,
Before mellowing down steadily
As the twilight merged into the dark.
 
A hushed silence

A Whiff of Loneliness

O clouds of loneliness, 
I beckon you to pervade
within the seams of my heart
and rain ever so lightly
to cleanse its walls
of the dust 
that tumult of life incessant
has fixed on its walls,
to let me breathe
and discover the self true
that resides in me.

O Clouds, be only a visitor
and do not make me your home
as deeper you
