Breaking the Societal Norm

A delicate dance, a subtle sway,
Expectations woven, in a societal way.
A woman waits, with passive gaze,
For a man to lead, with financial ways.

He pays the bill, the ring, the wedding fee,
The provider role, a lifelong decree.
She expects support, for herself and her kin,
A one-way street, where love may give in.

But some women defy, these norms so grand,
Contributing equally, hand in hand.
A true test of love, a gesture so fine,
When she invests, with a loving design.

Yet, in the courts, a different tale unfolds,
Assets divided, with a legal hold.
A woman shaped, by societal might,
To contribute little, in the dark of night.

A partner, not a burden, we must seek,
Emotionally and financially, a bond unique.
Let's break the mold, and redefine love's role,
A mutual journey, with a balanced soul.

I Promise

I promise I'll love you
Till the end of my life
Not just like anybody
But like my wife

I promise I'll be there
Always by your side
Holding your hand in mine
Forever in my heart you reside

I promise I'll accept you
The way you are
No matter your flaws
Just be as you are

I promise my love
Will never fade away
For you are my love
As forever you'll stay

I promise I'll be loyal
For this is NOT a trial
Just like a diamond
My love remains royal

I promise I'll be your partner
No matter what's our fate
From now and forever
I'll be your true soulmate

Our love story: Just a click

Two opposites, unknown of their fate,
Randomly surfed the wide internet before it was too late.
From one end of the country to the other end.
Scrolled and scrolled, like it was never going to end.
Oh! It was just a click, that's how we met.

From hesitant texts and calls,
To glee when texts and calls are received
And later turned to elation.
Oh! It was just a click; that's how we connected.

Excitement and nervousness just rushed
When we met for the very first time, we just blushed.
There was no lack of delight.
It's hard to forget that sight.
Oh! It was just a click; we felt something ignite.

Later, it turned into hope and positivity
The foundation is built on trust and love, togetherness and unity.
We met, the folks met, and the process went on.
And finally, we tied the knot, vowing to never be apart.

In happiness or sorrow, in light or darkness,
In beautiful times or ugly times.
We vow to share each moment together,
And walk through all the odds and evens together.
Oh! It was just one click,
That we found each other for life's sweet and bitter journey.

Premium MemberAfter The Vows

Now that time has past do you feel the same
Or are you arguing and pushing the blame
Are you as attentive as you were when dating
Hopefully your love was sincere and isn't fading
Wasn't it so easy to shout out the words "I Do"
After the vows your partner gets to see the real you
What is it really that holds a marriage together
Being willing to bear bad weather until it gets better
This isn't a class where you sign in and sign out
It's learning what "better or for worse" is really about
It's after the vows that your work really starts
It's practicing forgiveness from each others hearts
When you were dating everything was allowed
Everything always seem to change after the vows

Premium MemberWedding poem Wedding Vows

May we forever be lovers,
May we forever be friends,
And should we hurt each other,
May we quickly make amends.

May we enjoy our passion,
But never let compassion die,
Thinking in selfless terms as we,
Never emphasising I.

May we forever be soul-mates,
May our love eternally last,
May the food of love sustain us,
May we never have to fast.

May we use each other’s strengths,
When we are feeling weak,
May we both learn to compromise,
And always as one voice speak.

May we never keep dark secrets,
May we never tell each other lies,
May we both work unceasingly,
To ensure our love never dies.

Rings
Love now
My heart sings
Our wedding vow
Will always love you
You make my life complete
By every small thing you do
With you, I never feel defeat
Beautiful one please be mine for life
With loving eyes, say you will be my wife
I will make a garden filled with delight
Hope and respect planted side by side
Our garden will thrive on love's light
Devoted faith grown with pride
Darling, will you accept?
I'm on bended knee
Promises kept
You for me

After The Wedding

after the I do’s
after the photographs
after the guests have gone
after the rice is swept up
after the toasts
after the dances
after the wedding dress is stored
after the rental tux is returned
after the banquet hall is dark
after the hot honeymoon

Now the marriage begins

Man weds cockroach in church ceremony
Guests munch on freshly grilled abalone

      Pastor upholds his sworn duty
Lectures bride and groom on infidelity

      Barely two months into marriage
Tiny baby cockroach appears in a carriage

Headlines shout out the bad news
Seems Mrs. Cockroach was groped and abused

      Minister contacted Planned Parenthood
         Lacking precedent, post-full-term abortion approved

How Can One Explain Marriage?

It's a promise to laugh at the good.
Be silly, spontaneous and comfortable being yourself.
It's a promise to be supportive.
Be the shoulder. Be the rock.
Be the hand to hold each other up.
It's a promise to accept.
Accept the flaws-the big and the small.
It's a promise to disagree.
To argue and get mad.
It's a promise to forgive.
To listen and understand.
It's a promise to compromise.
To make decisions together.
It's a promise to share.
Share your hopes and dreams.
Share your crazy ideas and fears.
Share your bed. Share your heart.
It's a promise to give.
Give each other attention.
A touch. A look. A smile from across a crowded room.
It's a promise to show how much you mean to each other.
A goodnight kiss. An I love you text.
But most importantly,
It's a promise to be true.
It's a promise to always be there.
It's a promise to love.

Premium MemberOn Being a Groom

The groom should assume while he’s there,
He ought not say aught au contraire.
Polish your shoes,
Smile at all news,
Till one and a one are a pair.

Premium MemberWhen the prince stood naked before his new bride

When the prince first stood naked before his new bride,
his disappointed was a little hard to hide.
Had he given all those red rubies
just to get these tiny little boobies?
Squire! Get the horses ready! We're going for a ride!"

When the princess first saw the prince's little wiener,
her pretty face betrayed an instant change in her demeanor.
She thought with a frown,
“This is a big step down.
I saw much bigger dicks when I was a teener.”

True Love

He first fell in love with the beautiful game, and for years that remained until Cupid took aim,
That love, though grand, was but a one-way street,?A devotion unmatched, yet one-sided, complete.

Without any warning and to his surprise
An angel appeared right in front of his eyes
It was then he discovered a love so profound,?A two-way connection where true joy is found

Some say it’s fate or a part of Gods plan
Either way this was when their love story began
Day one of a journey through life with each other
Memories to make that they’re yet to discover

In kindness, your hearts have found their place,?to lay the foundations that’s bonded by grace.?Honesty guiding the vows you now share,?sealed with a kiss and the rings that you wear

From this day forward, as your lives entwine,?you’ll stand side by side, as partners through time.?When storms may arise and the skies do turn gray,?together your love will let light guide the way

Now he gets to share his first love with his wife ?As Forever he’ll be her Man Utd for life.

I Do

"I, boney, take thee, Mr Bones into my hearts darkness, to be my wedded souls husband through the shadows of light, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part until the end of time and thereto I pledge thee my faith."
"I, Mr Boney, take thee, Miss Boney into my hearts darkness, to be my wedded souls husband through the shadows of light , to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part until the end of time and thereto I pledge thee my faith."

Spur Of The Moment

I remember when I got mad at you.
You asked me about how I changed from back then,
I said I toned it down rather than take it like that.
We should of got married then.
Now we have these meetings we have to go through.
If they could see us, how we are, there wouldn't of been any other,
We can wait.
