Seashore Haiku
waves waltz on the sand
seagulls sing their sweet songs~
sea breeze softly sighs
A cobalt surge, a sky of pearly grey,
A mountain watches, silent, capped with snow.
The wave ascends, where tiny boats hold sway,
While foamy fingers beckon from below.
Against the tide, a challenge they embrace,
With strength they push, against the swelling might,
A test of skill, within this watery space,
Their tiny crafts, in shades of dark and light.
The churning foam, a dance of wild delight,
And Fuji’s form, a calm and steady guide,
A vision bold, a captivating sight,
Where nature’s power cannot be denied.
So ride the wave, let courage be your art,
And find the beauty in a brand new start.
I walk the beach alone
I draw the contour of your face
~ it simply gets washed away

A dance among the crashing waves
The turbulent sea on the shore
Rolling with white sand
The fragility of a body in pieces
In footprints that have left behind
The wind blows on the waving strands
Like a dance in the shadows at the edge of the beach
When fingers clasp
The waves run
Clashing against towering rocks
Playing with dreams at the end of the day
As if the sun will never go away
Between the silent waves of time, I dive into a sea of dreams,
where the sensations of being are like drops scattered in the vastness of water.
In each drop of pain, I find a warm image, a balm for the soul,
an infinite bath that embraces the whole, soothing with its gentle touch.
Pain, like a shadow dancing on the edge of a mysterious light,
is lost in the vastness of the ocean, where each wave whispers forgetfulness.
With every passing moment, comfort becomes a subtle call,
a recognition of separation that persists but dissolves in water.
There must be a deeper comfort, a truth hidden beneath the waves,
perhaps it is the understanding that the water of the sea and the water of the wave are one and the same.
In this sea of tranquility, where everything merges into unity,
I find peace that transcends words, in the simple essence of Water.
my heart rises, falls like restive waves
it brings the weight of fears I cannot voice.
joy swells then slips silently away
memories lingers like salt on my skin
i follow its pull, unsure but alive
in its rhythm, I find my steady beat
In a corner of the world where dreams break in waves of silence,
And shadows dance on the edge of a heart too full,
In a sea of thoughts that pour like a river of unrest,
I stand and unravel into thousands of threads of longing and regret.
My soul, a canvas of stars that ignites and fades,
In a time that knows neither beginning nor end.
My eye sees the sky and the earth as a single breath,
While my heart pleads not to be misunderstood.
Sometimes the light within me splits like a rainbow,
But other times clouds gather, heavy, over my inner horizon.
I seek my balance on the thin line between joy and sorrow,
And in every moment I lose myself, find myself, disperse.
I am just a soul trying to find peace in the storm,
A person with flaws finely woven into the fabric of their existence.
And though I strive, sometimes I get lost in my own labyrinth,
Waiting to be understood, to be loved, to be forgiven.
In this world of shadows and lights that mix endlessly,
I cry to the heavens not to be misunderstood, to be accepted.
For deep within me, intentions are as pure as a mountain spring,
And my plea rises like an ancient song to the stars.
I only feel real
When I'm downing glasses full of depression
And regret comes around every now and then
banging on the door
real turns its head
When rivers on my skin run too deep
real becomes real
as my happiness only comes in waves
crawling through my brain
only crashing for a night
leaving me with false hope
But I'd take the real back
If I could feel hurt
washing away with the glasses
I only feel real
when everything feels real
my shaking hands and long sighs
for who i am, i feed on delusions
that someday the bow in my chest will fall
and a new dawn will arrive at the door
the weight i carry- of emotions, stronger than waves
waves that are sinking me under their weight
i close my eyes and teleport to secret gardens
i'm too weary to bear this pain
waves of purple met us when we arrived at her celebration of life
most were wearing it in some shade or another
there was grief
she had been twenty-five
young to be murdered
worse to be murdered while her children watched
they were three and four at the time
would they ever fully recover?
they were not in attendance
I had come for her twelve-year-old brother
he is Asperger, and has few friends
I am the school counselor
his classroom teacher and I had come together
to celebrate his sister’s celebration of life
short as it was
waves crash and tumble
washing feet in sifting sand
my mind drifts to hush
thoughts dissolve in frothing foam—
I'm emptied of all burdens
for this brief moment
I'm at peace, sublime, profound
wrapped in the soft surge
before undertow returns—
dragging me below again
yet if I give in
let the current carry me
not fight its embrace
it cradles me in its foam —
to drift alone in its stride
sea and self converge
with no edge lying between
woe betide and me —
I can uncover and learn
that I and water are one
Ode to the Ocean
All-encompassing, a vast blue might,
Billions of droplets, reflecting light.
Coral castles, where sea creatures roam,
Deepest trenches, a mysterious home.
Ever-moving, with rhythmic sway,
Fresh ocean breezes, greet each new day.
Glistening surface, a mirror so clear,
Haunting echoes, for all who draw near.
Immense and ancient, full of lore,
Joyful dolphins, leap from the shore.
Kelping forests, where life can thrive,
Luminous plankton, keeping dreams alive.
Mysteries hidden, in depths unknown,
Nature's grandeur, beautifully shown.
Onward currents, tirelessly flow,
Pristine waters, a mesmerizing glow.
Quiet whispers, from waves on the sand,
Rich biodiversity, across every land.
Salty essence, a taste of the wild,
Tidal surges, powerfully compiled.
Underwater wonders, a breathtaking sight,
Vast and vital, shining so bright.
Wild and free, where horizons extend,
Xenial waters, where life entwines.
Yearning spirits, forever it calls,
Zephyrs dancing, as each wave falls.
WAVES
ripples
curving shapes
sweet recollections
of cuddling sands on beach
during dreamy days of youth
"footprints on shore fade in a while."
Soft raindrop music lulled all to quiet
with dreams of fairies, strawberry Delight
Stars sent lovelights that winked off and then on
wind whispered “shh,” very soon will come dawn
Quickly, rain grew restless, began to pound
sent enormous waves to hide the soft ground
Two rivers merged, creating a large sea
Higher, stronger grew sea's intensity
It thrashed and spun and at last over ran
the hopes and dreams of youth's happy clan
Tiny wonders with life's days still to know
embraced by angels and lifted from flow
Dawn arose to a promise that was swept
nothing remained, but tears that were wept
Garden paradise that once sheltered green
torn, spilled over imagination's dream
Can there again be songs mingling with air
Can memories help those who lost, repair
Somewhere above, among soft, lilac clouds
are Mystic camp songs sung, offkey but loud
And, in a rainbow with a lovely face
are watercolors for those left to trace
moments of joy, each to gently unfold
Then find tomorrows you can, again, hold
The waves
are packing
empty sea shells
with sound.
I listen
to what is leftover
which is loud enough
for me.
