and vastly more intriguing

Double yellow lines
I sit inside a massive fog of nothingness
plays on my imaginary piano using one finger
a ditty, sun outside, sun inside, sun only sun
I feel massively and supremely untalented
Now that the amalgamation of writers, poets
dancers, trampoline ladies, and painters that
lived inside of me, has turned into a block
immovable zero
I look at a black dot ringed by a grey cloud
If I stare at this long enough, the cloud might
disappear, only it is not, it turns into a dervish
The amalgamation has fractured, and I sit on
a rowing boat on a green sea, watching gulls
white as angels fly upward into a hole in
a void, at last, there is silence, and I'm at ease
With my vastly incompetent self

A lightbulb conjures Edison
but shines on another,
relevant
in the war of currents, (1)
that another player sparked -
vastly intelligent.
It would be the world's fate
to have its current alternate,
and, too, Tesla spared the elephant. (2)
(1) In the "War of the Currents" in the late 1880s and early 1890s, surrounding the introduction of competing electric power transmission systems, Thomas Edison promoted Direct Current (DC), and Nikola Tesla promoted Alternating Current (AC), which is now the standard for power grids around the world.
(2) Per Wikipedia, "In popular culture, Topsy [the elephant] is often portrayed as being electrocuted in a public demonstration organized by Thomas Edison during the war of the currents to show the dangers of alternating current." However, it goes on to reveal a more complex (but just as horrible) truth.

Ah, the fragrant fumes of paint drying on a picket fence
followed by the grease-stained smell of turpentine on the brush
Though doubtless matched by the aroma of oil spills gracing
a service station’s garage floor
These pungent memories of childhood, wiped clean today
by vastly improved technology, yet linger with me

My dearest love,
I pray that theses words find the strength to covey beyond the mere definitions they keep. I seem to have lost you in a riddle, a battle of inability's. or at the very least I've misplaced you within corrupted ideas of what you and i once were, a totality thru a proximity of souls. Though my actionless vernacular vastly tells a different story to the contrary. It is only but the corner piece to a thousand parts, that I have yet to lay. still i find myself mesmerized by the haunting of foreign eyes. subsites for your lack of understanding or for a lack of better words. Not so long ago they held me to the flames of lustful desire. I fell Persecuted for the feeding of a lonely heart. The loss stretches beyond mere mortal comprehension. Its vastly seamless in its threaded existence. boundless, I know no measure to compare my love to thee extended hands and feet are of consequence. there is no resolve.

Hypervigilant are both dogs
Fat and juicy, built like farm hogs
They are in a huge pen with plenty to do
Do they know that I, their gatekeeper, is watching them too?
I am vastly aware how fast they are
As I open the gate, not far from a car
Being knocked down by the front gate
Is pretty often now my fate

When it came to love
I had no real plan
I know I wanted to connect in an intimate way
with experimentation and playfulness
I was short on experience
there was a pandemic
I’d had few ‘at-bats’
that’s a sports metaphor
Much of it seemed surreal and abstract
like we’d entered another realm of everyday places
there was a subtle unpredictability
that was unfiltered, instinctive and unapologetically unhinged
freedom permeated every element
still, our collaboration allowed for honest conversation
I remember asking, “What are we doing?”
Thinking back, It underlined how vastly different our two experiences were

News, Bah, Humbug
Miracle Man
1/16/2025
I was watching commercials
and was interrupted by news.
Read by opinionated anchors
with vastly dissenting views.
It set me to quietly thinking
which view, if any, might be true.
Would this be the morning
I saw truth makes it’s debut.
Each channel I turned to
gave it’s own political slant.
But before news time ended
they would quickly recant.
Then it’s back to commercials
which cause me to yawn.
But they pay for the news
from sunset until dawn.

Ephemeral eternity — covers osmosis pinnacles
In a loving natural roots, nostalgia never fails
Welcomed. . .we wander — and cry
It slinks slackly not dwelling in the gloom. . .
Gestalt therapy in sepia tones offers an odd view,
Instant mete hourglass, scythe, magic mind wing
Proper, shining ruined glass before filters and pixels,
Cracks reveal truth, and hazy images evoke memory;
Digitally altered shots provide unadorned faces,
Silver stones — crumble under soggy streams
Love consists of endless childhood dreams,
We whirl, win, wildly in a whirlwind
Instants creep slowly — yielding assets to discard
Time lingers while instances ripple vastly.
It unfolds and emits a sticky—spirited symphony
Transitional winds blew as we breathed and linked
Instants ticked slowly but rose quickly.
Glide into golden heat of the calm night hour
Ashes rise on a summer's sigh in the breezy sky
Soaring over the willows, peacefully fly.

Jesus is vastly superior
He understands the interior of your heart
Duck out of society and
Take counsel with God the Father
This will impact your situation
So that you can impact it with His Mind
Jesus is vastly superior
He understands the interior of your heart
So speak to Him

Nan wrote many books, none were a hit.
People simply could not relate to any of it.
She has no life, no pets, no mate.
Excessive wordiness is her fate.
No life experience of any kind.
Her prolixity most readers vastly mind.
She knows her words, but no feeling there.
Thrown on a page like she does not care.
Readers like stories they understand.
Despising overused vocabulary words used by Nan.

All alone deep inside
Feeling like I wanna cry
No one ever understands
Cuz they're always making plans
My worlds quickly falling apart
Vastly destroying my fragile heart
Vainly trying to hold it together
Teetering on the edge forever
Losing everything so close
Feeling like an unwelcomed ghost
No matter what I try
Everything either leaves or dies
Wishing I can get rid of my stress
Thinking this is all a test
Feeling I'm at the end of my rope
Extremely close to losing all hope
Wishing someone saves me someday
These words to god I pray

When you hitch your wagon to a new star
you best make sure she’s up to par
For if she fails, your wagon’s unhitched

already heading straight for the ditch

"Into the Ultramarine"
barefoot along the path down to the beach
the memories follow me like seagulls
either side the honour guard of scarlet coastal banksia
and the sharp green scent of Bribie Island pine
wave over me
The wide expanse of a life
like the wild side foreshore
now vastly eroded,
the space between, much shorter
the tides in time
have taken
the sands further out
dissolving the childish past
past the dissolving
further out
the Ocean deep
calls me further in
shedding skin
like a Selkie
diving head first
bare feet the body slippery
into the Ultramarine
the Ultramarine
like a possessive lover
takes me
