Hey there little one
Toddling ‘round your parents’ feet
Not yet knowing who you are
A whole wide world to meet

You have Nobility -
Heroes’ blood pumps in your heart
Martyrs, warriors and pioneers
Are part of who you are

Both your grandfathers
Served honorably in the military
Tom was in the Marine Corps
I was a UN Peacekeeper in the Army

Fred Halliday served,
Himself

The Beehive State

A young girl with ants in her pants
Was doing a strange kind of dance
We yelled, "Take 'em off!"
She snarled back a scoff:
"Its Utah! That's nowhere near France!!

"leprosy Utah"

my seed came to me
with a bump on his face
and ask why we both
had the same on our faces
and why it had showed up
over night?

lie to the child
lie for heavens place
lie, and never tell
him the truth of hate

spin a not knowing
so he will think every things alright

Camping In Utah

Earths scent fresh as springs morning dew
Water swiftly flowing crystal cold and blue

Sun begins to peak over mountains high
Breeze in the crisp morning air whispers by

Wish this moment to be stored in memory
New day unfolds into continued life's story

Grateful to awaken to a beautiful new day
Leaves from the tall green trees gently sway

Camp

Utah Desert Sunset

Hold the beauty of the desert
it's wind cold
pristine
blanketing wide expanse
reckoning
awake to drifted thoughts
blown endless across plateaus silent far
where distant dreams painted in the sand
draw close with longing
like lips across a rose
eager for the touch of soft deep colors
well defined in quiet self repose
or the purple of the

Moab( Town In Utah)

Journey centuries passed
walk its trailblazers' path
old memories photographed
are sacred keys to Moab's past

Red sandstone canyons surround
an old western town
its sacred fertile ground
and white sunlight grew sunflowers
near burningwood powered
homes nestled in verdant canyon meadows
where oxen roamed and travelers settled
cooled by cloud color blend and snow capped Rocky Mountains
gracing blue twilight skies growing dark
over Canyonland
