Use Your Head Poems | Examples

I told you so, I TOLD you so

But you never listen to me

You're loud, proud, and your head's in a cloud

And your eyes are too blind to see

You just use your head for a hat rack

And you damn well know it's true

You're old enough to know, you know I told you so

Now look at what's happened to you

Found your ass in jail without bail

And stinking of rot gut gin

The fella in the bunk above declared his love

And made you his new girlfriend

Then with your sentence through, I thought you knew

You had to check in every week

But the cops found you there at the county fair

So drunk that you couldn't speak

The judge issued a one way ticket

Back to the cage with your old friend

I told you so, you KNOW I told you so

I'll send some balm for your rear end

DIY Survival

Listen to this rhyme I say,
and be prepared every day.
In the forest you may go,
weather shine or weather snow.

If your lost within the trees,
don’t run around like a sleaze.
Don’t tromp about and shake your head,
for if you do you will be dead.

Stop and sit you whipperbate,
start a fire and then just wait.
Make it smokey and not too tall,
they will know it’s a rescue call.

Give it time for them to see,
and they will come to rescue thee.
Use this time to assess,
just how big is your mess.

If its past three days or more,
then it’s time to find the door.
Use your head and take your time,
it’s downhill so do not climb.

A river stream or a brook,
for this feature you must look.
Then follow it all the way,
downstream you go in the day.

If you listen to what I say,
civilization comes your way.

Dare anyone in this wide world,
To tell you, to line up and take it?

Use your head, if you want to be free,
You must have courage and grand espirit!

Dare ye not follow the lame, boring crowd,
Who want you as just another sheep, humble and cowed.

Don’t blame evil leaders, if you won’t speak out against madness,
That is what we do now, creating a universe full of violence!

By ignoring what a huge difference you can truly make,
Passive attitudes are a signal to all evil men, to be on the take!

Use Your Head

Constipation is a big scam
On those who can't walk worth a damn
You should always choose
A tin of cashews
To ease your way out of a jam!

The Night That Gave Me Fright

Twas a cold and windy night with leaves crackling
Spooks and goblins floating through the air
Black cats and witches zooming across the moon
Bellies with hunger wishing for candy treats

Dark as midnight with candlelit lights
Giggling with laughter while knocking on doors
Trick or treat was said as the squeaking door opened
A wolf in sheep's clothing then appeared

Holding a skull in their hand full of candy and treats
Take only one was said if you take more I will use your head
Scared with fright we only took one
Then father smiled so we took his skull and ran

We tricked him
Leaving him empty handed

The Big Reveal

We fit into some great mystic puzzle. Live our lives like wooden chessmen. We move here and there and some disappear. The journey fills us with experience. Truly the food of Gods! We watch as the mirror changes and a new you steps forth. Then to realize there is more of that cross to bear. Words from my fathers mouth return saying, " use your head!" There are invisible chains that we carry around, for no one can be born here and not be beholden! Some don't believe and the weight is titanic. When the sun is shining and smiles are pasted on, the wondering eyes of people search for a master, that can somehow make something out of them. The day comes, when all will be made known, then will peoples mouths drop and stomachs full of butterflies! No, there is no escape, "no one gets out of here alive", and coming is the big reveal...how the sunset came to be!

Passed

Congratulations you’ve done it!
And with flying colours too.
But then we knew you could do it
We had every faith in you.
Although your nerves were jangling
And your tummy wouldn’t settle,
We knew once you took it to task
You’d conquer that bit of metal.
Emergency stop,turn in the road,
Highway Code a doddle.
And you should be proud of yourself
The examiner didn’t mollycoddle.
Now at last you’re up there
With the favoured rest.
You can throw away the L plates
Now you’ve PASSED your test.....
But just a word of caution;
Before you set off into the blue,
Remember the road’s not a race track
And we’re fond of every bit of you.—
Well now you’ve got the green light,
It’s go ahead,action stations!
Grab the wheel, use your head and your heart,
And once again DRIVER congratulations.

I wrote this for a friend who passed their test.

Doddle- very easy
Mollycoddle- be gentle with

My Way

Find you a role model they said
I was young and finding my way
Find a leader then use your head
Follow that leader come what may

You cannot listen to your heart
You must learn logic and reason
Dreams will likely tear you apart
So they said with every season

Along came a thin little man
Telling me what he had to say
He could sing if anyone can
And he said he did it his way

I found he was right - dreams do pay
I am proud I did it my way

A Heart Divided

A HEART DIVIDED

A heart divided,
Loving two,
Can't decide what to do.
Go with one and leave the other,
Or go with the other and leave the one.
Use your head and lose your heart
Or use your heart and lose your head.
My heart says, "Let it be."
My head says, "Listen to me."
Holding back.
Letting go.
How will I ever know?

O My Human Being,

O my human being,

Move, O my human being,
Remove the enmity
Enmity has spoiled the humanity-

Use your head O human being,
And behead the atrocity
Atrocity has ruined the humanity-

Have will O my human being
Please kill the immorality
Immorality has ruined the humanity-

Enmity, atrocity, immorality
As they have audacity

Among us exists
Existential crisis
Along with us subsists
Substantial chaos

Enough
Wait not
Get rough

Nothing more
To think and sink

O my human being,
You must dwell as a being
In future too

September First
By Franklin Price

September first is finally here
Hints of Fall are in the air
In our yard I see some color change
On the trees that we have there

The days still reaching ninety
To work outside would be a fool
Enjoy late night and early morn
When the temps are Autumn cool

Storms in the Atlantic
September hurricanes are here
If you live in their projected paths
Protect the things that you hold dear

Officially the twenty-second
Is the day the seasons turn
The days are getting shorter
Less daylight time to burn

If color change is what you seek
Come to the Blue Ridge mountainside
By motorcycle, bike or car
I'm sure you'll enjoy the ride

Use your head to plan the trip
Check the internet and news
Do not be disappointed
In the colored mountain views

If you choose to stay at home
Or to venture on the road
I wish you health and happiness
To be safe in your abode

Dead Is Dead

its no lie if you die
the clover its over
to be able help other and me
set us free
got use your head
because
DEAD IS DEAD

Premium Member Questions

With despair I called into the dark
Is anyone there to hear my plea
No indication of the way to go...
Adrift on a black and sullen sea.

From the void a voice cried out
Use your head but follow your heart
The tide will take you home again
Given time the clouds will part

From a time before remembering
My ship safely nudged the shore
The questions that have no answers
Till the end, man will still explore
