Where there is no Light, there is no Hope, so Burn Bright
when the Spirit is withered, the Spirit is defiled
where the worn-out paths weary out the Soul
seek solace Inwards, there where the Sacred Flame glows
where Preeminent Fires burn, there One Must Go
away from the Crowds, and Herds, and Roads
when the ties of conformity go Unfettered
the Wells of Life Spring Forth, Seek High for those Hidden Treasures
The Way is Fulfilling; no words need spoke
just as the river knows how "The Way" it flows
and Strength is attained beyond the Upheavals of the Soul
and the Fire erupts and all that is touched transforms to Gold,
and there the essence of life shows No Remorse
that it has Conquered, Vanquished, and Walloped the Dross
and there the Quintessence comes forth and Unveils the Source
that All Is Eternal, In This Take Note

Sonnets Before Surrender and The Building That Follows

The war refuses the head, below wasting in dead
Rearing the front as storms fell the timbers rot
Upheavals breast, shorn and filled in neglect
Lay useless she had cried, allow dimple and deny

Tis only folly we are joined from, seasons blurry
Contemptuous fury, theatrical brevity, lifeless
Burning misery, hasn’t all gone and come
Just so fiddle and spun, as garnish and lathe
Without soured breads fortune, and curled ears late

Forever they attend, a hearts creative bend
And rule they must, alas at lose in unbreakable crust
He in hand created this land, in tales of ferried rows
Gentled slave we musn’t hate, crucible’s labors as knave

In there buildings, craving and fighting, loud and obscene
Fruitful as flies, multiplying night skies
Crying babes of violence, unruly and brutal
Off again we should shout as they, steam filled hovels in suet

Well,  fellow mortals, here we are;
Far beneath the morning star.

2025 has quietly arrived;
And we are bessed to be alive.

Heaven knows what lies ahead.
God alone can shield us from dread.

I shall continue to seek His guidance.
God alone sees far beyond, into the distance.

May there be fewer conflicts; less upheavals;
And may we be delivered from the evils.

May the light of Christ in me shine into the darkness,
Creating smiling faces and minimizing the madness.

May each of us fulfill our God given purpose
Before the time arrives for our final exodus.

A Lifetime

We blindly traverse life’s vicissitudes,

Upheavals and harmony

An odyssey in search of love,

Beauty, truth and happiness

Lamented in moments of sorrow

Euphoric in joyous bliss

Recorded in hours, days and years

Till hands of death bring to cease.

The discovery of insulin- a lease of life for people with Type 1 diabetes

Was it Banting and Best,
Collip and McLeod’s feat ?
Whose efforts bore fruits,
And ‘Insulin’ was discovered.
Or was it the Compassionate Creator.
Who really Sorted out the pancreatic mystery,
And Granted man the sense,
To perfect the pancreatic extract,
That was injected to people with diabetes,
Safely and successfully !
A new era dawned in the history of medicine.
Many hopeless souls,
Got relieved and cheerful.
On being Gifted Insulin,
The “lifeline” so much awaited before.
Since that landmark discovery,
Diabetes has witnessed many more breakthroughs.
Each one a lesson, to the faltering human.
Not to despair and to carry on the struggle,
Despite upheavals and failures.
And never to loose the trust on our ‘True Benefector’.
We should always strive keeping us upright,
And keep words and deeds like a mirror.
Kindling the dreary paths for others,
And rescuing fondering hearts, from deep waters .
Ahead, Medicine has many more challenges.
Diabetes also needs more plunges,
Into the oceans of research and practice.
As in 1921, the insulin got invented.
May one day, “Diabetes” get eradicated.

Premium MemberFull Circle

I wonder what it'll take to go full circle
and find my way back home with You?
Although I might be as slow as a turtle
Your love will guide me when I'm true.

I’ll finish up then as I began being a child of Yours
having knocked on so many of life’s secret doors.
But even though I've yet to find all the right answers
at this stage of my life there have been some advances.

My feelings towards You now seem to have changed
but this shouldn’t be a reason for us to feel estranged.
Love's a universal magnet that draws everything together
we shouldn’t mind passing through some stormy weather.

In a world of constant change there are many upheavals
but love often does get stronger when there are retrievals.
It’s something of a realization by which we come to know
that as love completes a full circle perfection it will show.

How long will it take to go full circle
to find my way back home with You?
It seems I'm just as slow as a turtle
but is Love guiding me and am I true?

My Political Opinion
Miracle Man
10/24-2024

Voting time is here and I had a voice,
much finger pointing from lying accusers.
I’ve marked the box black beside my choice,
while believing I was picking from two losers.

Both have made vows not intending to keep,
it’s say what they must just to get elected.
But neither will lose one minute of sleep,
my thought is that both should be rejected.

Lately, it’s been the same every four years,
I pray there won’t be any more upheavals.
One will be chosen by majority of their peers,
Once again I voted for the lesser of two evils.

Orwell's Talking Head

1985. We looked for signs
not so much had changed
Wars in far-flung parts –
the same-O-blame-O.
An acceptable amount of body bag counts.
Was Orwell too early to be this late?

1996. Upheavals are restricted to
marginalized mobs. Heads are talking more,
there is a nameless fear and it's getting near.
Fewer western countries are smoking, though
many simmer silently.

There was this elongated period,
decades drained away
leaving only a vague residue,
a smear of narcissistic self-indulgence
begat a numbness.
Then we began to crave more.

2024. Now we see it.
its head is a swollen tumor,
it talks in tooth bites,
monstrous cover-ups go unchallenged,
its control is iron clad.
The monster is now global,
it gobbles up dissident thought,
it re-imagines the nature of
Jello.

The only way forward now, is through
the monster's ever narrowing ********,
besides,
most now consider
the nature of the beast
to be the same that it ever was.

Am I Light

Am I light or dispersed star
Scatter or straight to all earthly uneven
Whether the stray comet to unfollow
Chaos or chord to sundry upheavals
Mortal cry pebbles the enshrined path
Luminious moon guide where gleam
Wise that turn to sightless wanderer
Eternal furnace alloy even those flak
Whip of whims encage all beacons
Noble deeds dacay ,utterly numb
Trying our morale in turbulence of time
Comforts or clutter of needs ,indefinite
Men walk towards golden or grey gates
Surrender in mounting rungs and ropes
Dreams shatters like lifeless dunes
Homeless sands beneath benevolent sun
Arrays of aim pierce like pungent arrows
Win or wane for fit to survive in moor world
Featherless souls in sheer free fall;
Can there be ceaseless outbound fountain?
That fearless and frisk in favors
Solo my spirit sway all silos earth bring
Let mind sleeps sight on alpine snow
The genial breeze to free and glow
Altar the heart with care to unrest
Torch of mankind ablaze with brave
Holy human share blessings that unbent
Wish the nourishing rain to furtile and flow
Generous greats render and row.

Premium MemberSanctuary

Chaos surrounds me there is no escape
Moment of reflection is all I ask
Oasis of calm in which I am draped
Sanctuary of peace in which to bask,

Sounds of world retreat, no longer intrude
My mind at once is cleared of confusion
Heart's altar of peace spreading fortitude
Sanctuary found, no persecution.

Ancient holy place with its careworn face
Concrete floor worn smooth with penitent feet
Refuge and comfort in this ancient place
Pervasive perfume I smell "Meadowsweet."

Life's upheavals are to be expected
Heart's sanctuary, ever, protected.

Premium MemberChaos and Calm

At the end of the breakwater
I stand between two extremes.
On one side, the bay's agitations
and hurl of water smashing
against boulders, on the other,
the calm lick of waves
barely rising above a ripple.

Such division throws the mind
out of balance as if it seeks
an equilibrium, a point where
opposites are reconciled in a bland
soup of sameness. A hurried
scramble to find the predictable
in the messy tangles of chance.

The world is not like this.
Creation is born
out of the spewing throats
of volcanoes, earth upheavals
and flooding rains then given
time in a pause to rest and put
together its masterpiece.

For us, storms, earthquakes,
raging fires are seen as arrows
of misfortune flung by nature
or vengeful gods. For creation
they are tools wielded out
of a primary need, something
beyond the grasp of mere earthly
calibration. Praise be
for chaos and calm,
the hammer and polish
of creation.

A Word Against A World Going Wrong

How would I have the upper hand
as all around in chaos got drowned
How would I stick to a single stand
when upheavals the soul do confound.
My words whiling away an abiding journey
digging for the nectar of beauty many a well
long striving to my turmoil hide and bury
keep chill and in my secluded shell dwell.
Shall my ink change shade and scent
from dark black to the colour of blood
from the aroma of amber to an anger to vent
and pour heavy pain out of my chest flood.
So hard I tried to forge my very shield
preventing the eye to crime scenes roam
see so filthy hands evil and power wield
wiping from the world face a whole Home.
A word against a world going wrong
shall I yield to what I truly can’t handle
make time, give a chance for a poet’s song
step into the light and leave a bleak bubble.

Aerolithic

(An interview with a skipping stone)

I’ll start at the beginning…I was born oppressed –
The weight o’ th’world upon me…I hardened under stress.
The dust from whence I came…’twas morph-ed into stone –
Then from those depths, upheavals…skyward I was thrown.
By winds and rains beweathered…the Fates, they wrested me
From my mountain aerie…torn down by gravity.
Immersed in turgid waters…sharp edges polished o’er –
Tumbled, tossed and battered…and washed up on the shore.
Petrified, immobile…aeons passed me by –
Until a hand me lifted…and taught me how to fly.

Earthen Quakes

Little earthen quakes
Rumblings of the soul

Missives made of letters
Placed in ordered rows

Tales of ancient ruins
Never told before –

Little earthen quakes
Restless on the page

Telling little tales
Giving it away –

Aftershock upheavals
Pain, that trembles, grows

For the pen that wrote them
Little did it know

Little earthen tremors
Never letting go –

Premium MemberOur Lives Rearranged

So many times our lives rearranged
Resilient we are, accustomed to change

  Wars, Revolutions, Coups and Upheavals
Plunder and Pillage and assorted evils

  Recessions, Depressions, Runaway Inflation
Calls for austerity and eating food rations

  Bankruptcies, lay-offs, terminations
Then all of a sudden, rejuvenations

So go with the flow, and just do your best
Give yourself one leg up on the rest
