A Lifetime
We blindly traverse life’s vicissitudes,

Upheavals and harmony

An odyssey in search of love,

Beauty, truth and happiness

Lamented in moments of sorrow

Euphoric in joyous bliss

Recorded in hours, days and years

Till hands of death bring to cease....

A Murder of Crows
Late commers snap beaky throats,
mug with angry complaints.

A gathering
of de-frocked preachers strut
and preen, a tussled foraging,
hustle, and riot.

Up in the branches brothers caw and jeer.
Upheavals come together,
those with more pluck, snatch and pilfer.

Wanton blackouts of carrion crows
crowd my eyes
with their petty, ill-mannered crimes....

The outskirts of ruin, children of war,
Pass by upheavals, turmoils, turbulence,
Impacted scenes that tore, they must endure,
Safe from acts of war that was merciless,
Behind smiles and charms, home, away from war,
Now comes the battles, that adds to their scar.

Earthen Quakes
Little earthen quakes
Rumblings of the soul

Missives made of letters
Placed in ordered rows

Tales of ancient ruins
Never told before –

Little earthen quakes
Restless on the page

Telling little tales
Giving it away –

Aftershock upheavals
Pain, that trembles, grows

For the pen that wrote them
Little did it know

Little earthen tremors
Never letting go –...

Memories Past
as memories past are in my head
my eyes are filled with tears
the anger long suppressed fills my being
emotions are rushing in, filling me with dread
awakening my long my long dead fears
my hate for humans all i'm seeing

now i'm back, and in control
emotions once again suppressed
and anger once again is buried
and i cannot help but wonder
during my emotional upheavals
why is it that i can't feel joy?...

Premium Member No Rain
In life's harsh drought
Rain feels like a faint memory,
Seasons change quickly
Upheavals hurl

Dry thoughts like cinder
Flames of crackling wood
Burning with fierce heat
Spark consuming spark

Ashes in dry season
Hazy shades floating far
Ashy debris suffocate
Hazy grey mists obscure

Dry months conspire
Tree pyres consuming,
What can we do
From far far away?

Premium Member Our Lives Rearranged
So many times our lives rearranged
Resilient we are, accustomed to change

  Wars, Revolutions, Coups and Upheavals
Plunder and Pillage and assorted evils

  Recessions, Depressions, Runaway Inflation
Calls for austerity and eating food rations

  Bankruptcies, lay-offs, terminations
Then all of a sudden, rejuvenations

So go with the flow, and just do your best
Give yourself one leg up on the rest...

Life’s Upheavals 6-27-2016 Sometimes God uses some upheaval in our life, to remove us from a passing period of inaction. To stimulate, and restore our attention to Him, and away from some minor, earthly distraction. There’s a disparity in servitude and free living, servitude is being unconnected from our source. Suspended between heaven and earth was He, establishing a way, that from sin, we’d divorce.

Premium Member Confidence In Life
Where's the confidence in life
You're facing a controversial world
Of changes, chaos and upheavals
But an optimist will see a chance in difficulty
A pessimist will see difficulty in a chance
You have to try to live better
God only helps those who help themselves
Only trials, perseverance and efforts
Will accomplish something
A little accomplishment means
A little confidence
Let's the confidence piles up
And you'll have eureka at last...

Dusk
A mousy light filters a tracery of sunset, dappled beams succumb to gloaming. Evening stretches moments for the rescue of wreckages, to calm the upheavals of disheveled hours. Dusk softly pronounces its adieus, carries the bruised upon ebbing tides as children, they are brought out from burning houses. Upon a twilight cradle eventide glides each baffled breath along a dwindling shore, a Moses basket that dreams us unto dawn.

River Stones
they live now
in layers of motion and stillness

a fret sawing wind
a chaffing river
have shaped them

limbless bodies
turned upon
a lathe of time

glints of starlight are in them
eyes blinded by too much
of light
or dark

blue veins leach from granite pores
synapse
with bloods tingling clamor
with fingerprints

a molten world
drips green algae
upheavals whisper
from an unending past

a stone thrown back
finding a voice
in an uttering splash...

Black Angel
Journeying through steep,
narrow valleys into which
sunshine never reached,
experiencing jagged breaks,
abrupt upheavals,
gradual changes,
to become
unrecognizable today;
an outsider not part of the
warp and weave of strangers
moving in individual bubbles.
Mesmerized by crystalline depths,
daydreams infinitely gentle
reached out and kissed
my withered hand.
The hole in my heart
is being filled by words
from a black angel's
writing quill....
