Why, as we grow older
do we lose the innocence of youth
are ageing and innocence mutually exclusive
is it because innocence affords us no protection
leaving us defenceless
easy victims
and so we abandon it
as we come to know the world that we inhabit
a world that tells us to expect the worst
and as we look for the worst
and find it all around us
our focus is lost to wonder and opportunity
our openness and willingness to trust
branded silly and naïve
dangerous even
the awe that filled us when young
that had us keen and vibrant
fearless and full of expectation
has become the currency of the childishly gullible
of little value in the ranks of lost innocence
and so
having left our youth behind us
and with it our innocence
an innocence that inspired us
permitting us to be open and unguarded
to accept our world at face value
to be impulsive and trusting
to believe in innate goodness
we have
with the guiding wisdom of age
decided
that it is no longer prudent
to unquestioningly offer our hand
to unreservedly open our heart
to smile and welcome people in.

The Invention of Love®
By Mark D. Stucky
When did God invent love?
Does God still hold the patent?
If patent protection expired,
is love now public domain?
How could love condense
from seething plasma
spawned by a Big Bang?
Genesis describes creation,
but how could elusive love
emerge from clay creations?
Although verses proclaim God loves us,
did love exist before humans did?
Were feelings of love present between
the Trinity’s different Persons?
When humans did appear,
was love created just for us?
Or were humans formed in order
to be loved with divine passion?
The answers I would love to know.

Poetry soup
Offering gifts of
Eloquence and rhetoric
This emancipation of candour
Revitalized in common goals when
Yielding seeds of open-mindfulness
Specifications spontaneously unshackled
Oppression outlawed; this is indeed the
Unreservedly unremittingly
Punchbowl of purposefulness and literature.

Prayer
Clasped were her hands, bowed was her head.
Standing in front of the idols, she invoked her for the beads she had to shed.
Unashamedly the precious pearls overcome her vision.
Here she was in communion with the one, the Supreme, her icon.
A sanctuary where the contents of her soul were unreservedly poured.
A haven where the mask of wellness and the facade of pretentious happiness were disrobed.
An urge too strong to be ignored, she laid bare her dignity.
Here she was herself, she felt herself, she glorified herself in serenity.
Letting go of the intense sorrow that consumed her spirit, she sought solace from Mother Goddess.
Her faith in that powerful entity survived her through the darkness.
The script of her life unbeknownst to her was her blessing.
The heartache, struggles, stress and strain was all her doing.
Now with the eyes close, the soothing presence embraced every figment, every shred and every particle of the fickle ornament;
A gift to the child coming to her in prayer fervent.

The immortal flame on a cold and frozen night
Guide our lives through fire earth and ice,
To the unknown depths consume in the light,
We feel the warmth and comfort in Christ.
To offer ourselves up unreservedly to that power
And wield the weapons concealed within,
which allows one to defeat infested terror
by the glint that draws the radiance in.
Against innumerable noise and propeller voices,
That revolves around you, filled with the life of fire
Friends, in their loneliness, making you speechless,
And becoming the pure air for a ruined heir.
This immortal flame I can see in my awakening
Arising from the darksome shade into my dream.

Sunday morning
I like to go home
to the village in the mountain
and the dog that loved me unreservedly
but she wanted to reinforce our bond
stroking her head whispering sweet words
I like to look back a whole lifetime for a dog
she was proud of me, a couple for a stroll
through her life.
Looking back I think this was my best moment
the creation of true friendship.

There is a life eternal to live
but so many pass it by
living solely for this world
when at the end of it they die
God has provided life eternal
for those that will trust in His son
receiving His imputed righteousness
they can live knowing His well done
No one can achieve this alone
it can only be done in Christ
He gives us our passport
paid by His blood divinely priced
Our own efforts will never suffice
no matter how hard we try
it filled with our dirty rags
divine justice is way too high
So come unreservedly to Christ
with Him you’ll live for ever
to dwell with Him for evermore
know you’ve crossed your final river

Upon these banks where You fashion’d my soul,
Please pronounce again your Divine blessing,
“It is not good for Dave to be alone!”
Upon my soul, this ongoing freedom
To be my own man, set my schedule,
Stare through my four walls while writing sonnets
Has grown old. Re-create my soul to give
Itself unreservedly to her heart.
Knead the clay comprising me to remove
Stones of self-absorption and impatience,
Stubborn insistence that my will prevail.
Give me a generous heart that invests
In her success. Purify my soulish
Pools that she sees Your reflection through me.

I view it as unseemly to use high-sounding language to make an impression.
I perceive it to be ostentatious to marshal words vainglorious in succession.
It is a determinant of consternation, if not constipation, to be so assaulted.
Obsessive practitioners of linguistic pomposity presume they are self-exalted.
Whom [note proper objective case usage] do they fathom they are deceiving?
Do they inaugurate imaginations veined by vanity that I am them believing?
I desire a day when poets dispossess themselves of verbiage of pretension
And with exemplary expediency abandon exotic words they need not mention.
Poets aspiring to perfection should endorse this humble verse unreservedly,
Or have their word-overworked works consigned to anonymity deservedly.

I could hear my heartbeat
In that moment of silence,
When darkness was all around
But my eyes were wide open.
When tears rolled down through them,
The time when I believed it was the end
But something kept me alive
Hope, I think it was
Defined the difference between the dead and I,
Lying down on the cold ground
In that moment I thought I existed for enough of a while.
Then the spring came
And took away the coat of winter
Which I was wearing since forever
But now my era had come,
To be here for myself
Rather than solving other’s tribulations.
To come to life,
Saying goodbye to the cold grounds,
To receive some freshness in my existence,
To stop worrying about the past or the future
But to just live unreservedly in the present.
When nothing except my own doing would clutter
But still I would be in touch
With all the creatures around me
And I would live blissfully.

Do I love thee? O let me think and let me see.
Yes I do love thee with a courtesy of an undyin’ love;
With the entirety of my heart; with the gift and the vow from above.
With the depths of untaint’d love; infinite like a deep sea;
And by my love I swear, I’ll love thee ‘til we see the death of death –
And no displeasure, my belov’d, shall loom in our love behind.
I love thee unreservedly, as delight fills full my mind;
I’ll love thee delicately, with the love I inherit’d at birth.
To the breaking of each dawn’s life! – and, if kismet shall choose,
I shall love thee better, so better can bring to us eternised eternity;
Destiny decided by fate and providence of love without impurity –
From enamourèd heart that adores me so fair I dare never to lose.
For, I when in love with YOU, shall be liberated from anguish,
And if I but die and osculate you goodbye, never I shall languish.

We live in a quid-pro-quo society
Help me and I’ll help you
I can help you get a better job
Lose weight and learn a new skill, but it’ll cost you
How radical then
To be directed to help others
Simply because we can
With no expectation of a return
Father Christ wants us to do
Share our gifts
Without thought of receiving
Spiritually, Emotionally or Financially
The amazing thing when we act in Father Christ’s name
We are repaid for more than we could ever imagined
In love, faith
And growth on our spiritual journeys
Lord, help me to love the way you desire
Unreservedly with no expectation
No reward

Dear Lord Almighty, thou art Supreme
Thou art depository of all divine virtues
Thou art fiery spirit; thou art manly vigor
Ignite me with a tiny sparkle of thy spirit
So that it helps me discard my indolence.
Thou art the source of all powers; infinite
Grant me an iota of thy limitless authority
So that I can tame my unwieldy senses
Into subjugation and smite the strength
Of the colossal and entrenched evil in me.
Thou art the vast reservoir of compassion
I crave for a bit of your abundant kindness
To help me embrace all beings unreservedly
I pray grant me a few of thy blessed traits
That helps me become your proud creation.

Worship service is in the 1st place a service
Eternal God performs for us
Only then is it our service offered to Eternal God
Eternal God gives Himself to us under form, holy signs
So that we might do the same
Give ourselves unreservedly to Him

You my love are like poetry in motion
you glide along with
charm and benevolence
when you walk by you strike a heart's chord
i hear songs of love playing in my head
you've mastered the technique of seduction
yes you do have my heart watering
i stare when you enter the room
your presence demands responsiveness
Oh my love i wait for the day
when you will whisk me away
in your strong arms of comfort
where i will dissipate in your arms
and you will announce your love for me
and it will echo throughout the world
then we will flee so unreservedly
to our own planet of fervidness
