Premium MemberI am

In uncontrollable destinies,
fate is visible, signposted with faith.
In limitations of the intangible unforeseen,
tribulations from tangible organisms,
leave a heart yearning to release
the force from kundalini kismet.

What am I,
but a speck of dust,
spinning from nothingness,
composed in a complex analogy,
but more than just a meaningless metaphor.
Pursuing conscience consciousness,
a misunderstood muse in a poetic garden,
sowing seeds for a wallflower soul
to bloom as an orchid in Eden's orchards -
to feel mercy from heavenly raindrops.

A once, dysfunctional mind,
scribbled as an unmetered sonnet,
but with an eagle spirit
healing from wounded wings,
caged within a circle of sins,
polishing the heart to coexist.
Firmly planting my roots into
the mouth of mother earth.

Feeding on morsels of
atonement and redemption.
Eternally exploring self-reflection,
wishing internal paths lead to steps
with simple sentiments of silence.
Hoping illuminative energy liberates,
to ease the adversity of climbing
towards the zenith of zen -
to flourish in sunflower serenity.

Premium MemberI'Ll Never Write Another Freakin' Poem

I’ll never write another freakin’ poem
Be it Monoku or rambling tome
No more to tap upon unruly keys
Nor scribble on a pad be’twixt my knees

Won’t argue with the gods of pace and meter
For life within the poem becomes much sweeter
When I execute hard echoes growing flimsy
With the hardened edge of my poetic whimsy

For beyond the guarded walls of castle’s keep
Peasants wrote about rebellion in their sleep
‘Til those poems became the mantra of a life
Unmetered rebels waging war – no drum and fife

Therefore, e’er you chasten those who flee
Remember they’re the ones who set you free.

Old Paradox, New Verse

A heavy mist rises
out of the valley
like gun smoke, rifling
the air, setting off a time piece
of timelessness.

The sound of dew dripping
from leaves, but no dew felt.

This unmetered rural wetness
that meets me most mornings
ever since I’ve transported
to this mystic realm.

This meditation, this poetry.

A thousand unspoken words
inhabit these fat, yellow-green leaves;
these long limbs.
These crooked Einstein branches.

The figure in the cane
whose greetings each morning
without language haunt me.
The sunless days and moonless nights
are the old paradox
of my new verse.

Like a block of ice in a refrigerator car full of Chicago meats
I have a role to play,
          an important purpose, and
limited time to be fully functional.
Like fourth chair, fourth clarinet in the Boston philharmonic
I have a note to sound,
          a reason for being, and
without me the chord is incomplete.
Like the words that flow unmetered, unrhymed in free verse
     I have messages to send,
a legitimate place in poetry, and
               require a patient reader.

Wanderlust

I had a wanderlust unfettered
That ate at me unmetered
As I sat and looked over the plain
And I knew it would remain

I looked at Michael Palin travelling
Across my television screen unravelling
But perhaps there was a reason to it all
And wanderlust was not part of my call.

On a Rainy Sunday Afternoon

Unmetered Sonnet

My heart beats silently, quietly
This rainy Sunday afternoon filled with doldrums,
We are sick and separated from our families,
The world is bleak and gray.

Are human hands controlling our immediate destiny?
Never have we faced such unholiness.
I revel in Notre Dame’s magnificence on TV,
While imaging the fire and mice beneath the organist’s feet.

I will close my eyes and hold His promise,
I will in my imagination, smooth his robes,
I will hope as He gives hope from above,
My Lord, My Lord, My Savior.

He will whisper a vaccine in a scientist’s ear,
We’ll never know from whence it came and then the world will beam
           brilliantly.

Inkling

I hear cheering chimes pealing far,
Beyond travails' veneers which blur
Tomorrow's rainbow scenes' glare;
Robing in glooms fine seasons fair.

Which wise to thank knows not I
As gold-dew greets from the sky,
Ushering in fresh starts on slates
Of pristine lot after fiercest fates.

Ahead still skulk facades dull,
Portending night's faking pains;
Posing askew out of envies null,
Shrouding rays on morn's plains.

Yet what eyes of flesh mayn't espy,
See ones within of crystalline light;
Untwisting stars cast in dims to die;
Shaming jets that soot ivories white.

And whilst at last loom shiny sights
Of respite hour's rarest viands' bites,
I'll hugest vollies of unmetered joys
Lilt past all ears and cherubs' voice.

Premium MemberCovetous

Is it a crime
To pry apart rhyme
Stitch lines, unhitched
From native consequence

To warily marry
Unmetered time
By forced remorse
Unrehearsed
In patchwork verse

In my malaise
My daydreams ablaze
I long for eloquence...

     to drip, untripped

From my lips

The devil rides
my prideful hide
Chastise with whip and spur
Damning the span
Between who I am
And who I wish I were.

To Create With Your Heart

Are you technically perfect,
  but spiritually weak

Are your words so well crafted,
  your soul cannot speak

Are your rhythms unmetered,
  your feelings unrhymed

Are you stuck in a format,
  that kills the sublime

Do your stanzas all end,
  their beginnings destroyed

Does your summation grieve,
  its parts overjoyed

Can you escape sophistry,
  your craft turned to art

Can you risk all rejection
   —to create with your heart

The Wings of An Angel

God is a Poet,
 his blessings in rhyme

Salvation unmetered,
  inspiration divine

His voice calls us inward,
  temptation now gone

Where the wings of an Angel
  —carry words into song

Premium MemberSo So the Clown - the Quatrain Style

~So - So The Clown ~
( Unmetered Quatrain)

So - So the Clown
He's a very happy fellow
He never wears a frown
But he doesn't like to milk a cow.

He likes to play upside-down,
With his very cute puppy, chowchow,
And in every event, he gets a crown,
And he doesn't know why and how.

So - So the Clown,
Likes to wears stilts to grow,
And then he's so funny he takes a vow,
And thumps! He falls, all the way facedown.

Everybody loves So - So the Clown,
And he knows of his job, all the knows and how,
That's why, all they call him So - So the Clown,
But he doesn't care, about that somehow.

Bye -Bye Becca good- bye, but why, it’s not clear?
How can we dance if you leave my sweet dear?
You’re a big girl; your life, your choice, your year
Come with me and enjoy the dance and cheer

How can we dance if you leave my sweet dear?
Time to let loose, take your first batch of beer
Come with me and enjoy the dance and cheer
Would there be a chance, will you consider?

Time to let loose, take your first batch of beer
Ignore childish gibberish their insignificance
Would there be a chance, will you consider?
Just keep in mind you make a difference

Ignore childish gibberish their insignificance
From time to time risk is necessary
Just keep in mind you make a difference
Respect you deserve in your sanctuary

From time to time risk is necessary
You’re a big girl; your life, your choice, your year
Respect you deserve in your sanctuary
Bye -Bye Becca good- bye, but why, it’s not clear?

It is so frustrating having everyone always telling you what you could or couldn’t do
