Notes About The Poem

For Unseeking Seeker's 'I am' Poetry Contest..

"and I don't want the world to see me... as I dont think they would understand,

when everythings made to be broken... I just want you to know who I am..."

Iris - Goo Goo Dolls

I am

In uncontrollable destinies,
fate is visible, signposted with faith.
In limitations of the intangible unforeseen,
tribulations from tangible organisms,
leave a heart yearning to release
the force from kundalini kismet.

What am I,
but a speck of dust,
spinning from nothingness,
composed in a complex analogy,
but more than just a meaningless metaphor.
Pursuing conscience consciousness,
a misunderstood muse in a poetic garden,
sowing seeds for a wallflower soul
to bloom as an orchid in Eden's orchards -
to feel mercy from heavenly raindrops.

A once, dysfunctional mind,
scribbled as an unmetered sonnet,
but with an eagle spirit
healing from wounded wings,
caged within a circle of sins,
polishing the heart to coexist.
Firmly planting my roots into
the mouth of mother earth.

Feeding on morsels of
atonement and redemption.
Eternally exploring self-reflection,
wishing internal paths lead to steps
with simple sentiments of silence.
Hoping illuminative energy liberates,
to ease the adversity of climbing
towards the zenith of zen -
to flourish in sunflower serenity.

SO, I'm thinking this poem explores the meaning of life. It is not an easy question to contemplate, but your journey takes me on the ride. It sounds like you have struggled as many of us have, but along the way we start to get a sense of where we want to go. Your attachment to nature in this is very insightful. Without our nurturing environment, we would be nothing.

Dear Silent One, Congratulations on your win for this superb piece. I couldn't relate to the "zenith zen" reference but I loved the reference to the "eagle spirit" that prevails over one's human failings. Loved it..

I love this and you finished it so perfectly. "...Feeding on morsels of atonement and redemption. Eternally exploring self-reflection, wishing internal paths lead to steps with simple sentiments of silence. Hoping illuminative energy liberates, to ease the adversity of climbing towards the zenith of zen - to flourish in sunflower serenity." Sunflowers are very unique and beautiful. A serenity of peace of mind. Another phi principle reminding one that God is always near...

Feasting on small portions of atonement and redemption, constantly exploring self-reflection and longing for inner paths that lead you towards simple sentiments of silence, I hope that the illuminative energy will liberate you and ease the adversity of climbing towards the zenith of zen. Your ultimate goal is to flourish in the serenity of a sunflower. Beautiful reflections, amazing affirmations S1...Hugs

My soul cries out and few have ears to hear what I'm saying. You are amongst those that might understand because I sense we've felt many of the same things at the soul level. A FAV for my list and a winner for the contest IMHO. Blessings, Bill

The YouTube video was a great emotional stagging for you poem. It touched my soul. The music took the message deep within my heart. I could see you as the singer in this video. The quote is a feeling I've had my whole life and I've known few that I think could every truly understand me. I think they're many in the world that have the same or similar feeling and thoughts. We all want validation of who we think we are from another human, but we weren't create to know anyone except ourselves.

A poem of great depth and beauty.... ! Hats off to your amazing talent, dear Silent One. Some of the poets here on this site keep me reminding each time how small I am as a poet !"a misunderstood muse in a poetic garden, sowing seeds for a wallflower soul to bloom as an orchid in Eden's orchards - to feel mercy from heavenly raindrops." Dear poet, you are never an 'unmetered sonnet', but an orchid beautifully blooming in Eaden's orchard'!
