Blessing In the Shadows

Blessing In the Shadows

Shackled and battened by the restraints of humankind

Hounding ego, gnawing the essence to stay behind

Reverence for soul lessen, protruding unkind

Assigned to desolation, fulfillment confined

Dying hope slipping, clutching the foundation of fate

Only feeling torment, loitering till the final date

Accepting all righteous acts to come as bait

Unknowingly unearthing a hand deterred from hate

Awakening to a notable entity, driven by solicitude

Fearful to the unforeseen, but ready to be renewed

Weaving potential realities, leaving behind the unfavorable until ensued

Released ultimately from the ocean of inhibitions to conclude

Alone

Home is where everything has a place
Alone is where I sat; excluded with nothing left to say
When past transgressions stains my shirt,
No malice I can compare to one's faith
I have no way to clean what has been soiled
Nor can I iron them away
Or take thy sobering morality
Like pain behind my eyes it is.
It seems that night's opinion or desire,
As if sun's light would dawn on me
In hell's driveway I sit pounding
How do I find my way back?
To that which makes my heart frolic
Alone I sat. I can't feed this unfavorable soul to myself
Numbing oneself; this hole that I have dug myself
Alone

The Cheesecake That Almost Was Not Cooked

Every now and then,
When the moon is in the right quarter,
I think of my daughter,
And then,
I want to bake a cheesecake that is even better,
Than the one I baked to impress her then.

An invitation to tea when the moon was in the right quarter,
So out came my old recipe book then,
A lemon cheese cake, could not be better,
A week to get the ingredients then,
And make a cheesecake that trumps the last one I made my daughter.

And then,
Back to the recipe book before the moon moved to an unfavorable quarter,
Now where in the book was the lemon cheesecake recipe then,
It had to be there, the moon was still in the right quarter,
What other explanation could there be then,
Later after an hour and a quarter,
I found I was not yet going out of my mind then,
And could put off upsetting my daughter.

If it is a lemon cheesecake I told my other daughter,
That is what it should be called then,
Especially when the moon is in the right quarter,
So why call it a superb cheesecake then,
As I have no wish to upset my daughter,
Before the time comes when?

Turning Away From Unwanted Loneliness

When they kiss so tenderly, they imagine plans for a lifetime,
their entwined arms protect what's theirs and precious inside:
they always get the usual looks of envy and unable to separate
these two young sweethearts, they simply give up trying;
staying together is turning away from unwanted loneliness,
building that tomorrow in trust means whatever it may take,
accepting endless joy that enters the happy heart, and this
incites their desire to be truly faithful and keep their longing.

They don't have to choose and wait, fate has already favored them;
could a fickle instinct make them loose their loveliest dream?
Who are more blessed than the ones honoring their promises?
No unexplainable force or unfavorable event can overwhelm them;
could they be tempted by beautiful eyes with such lustful smiles?
Their image of humbleness is unique, and they're admired by others.

Getting to know them is discovering their well-kept secret,
one could write a romance novel from the words they speak;
watch how they hold hands and the tender caresses they seek...
doesn't their happiness declare they are the perfect portrait?

The Problem With Polaroids

Memories of my childhood
are Polaroids of nostalgic cards
instant colored snapshots of my every action
from the day of my birth to the day I took my first steps
from the day I first started school to the day I learnt to ride a bike
I believed my childhood days would always be unfathomable
the most colossal deception about life living
that’s the problem I have with Polaroids

Birthday number eighteen
was the most unfavorable day of my puerile life
the once flashy, picturesque Polaroids of my childhood
slowly vanished into the dark and foggy stockade of heartbreak
before my very black eyes, while drizzling
unsweetened tears of a cheerless adulthood
that’s the problem I have with Polaroids

Vanity of Vanities

I have observed this under the shadow of the sun,
That the labour of mankind is futility.
It is in vain that you should wake up at dawn and labour till the day is done;
For things do not go swift for the righteous man,
And a house that is built by the righteous ends in vain.

But things go swiftly for the unjust,
And a tower that is constructed in corruption is quickly polished.
And success is for the ungodly,
And fortune is a dividend of those unfavorable to God.

Thus, also have I observed under the sun:
That things do not go as we have planned,
And victory befalleth not the positioned,
And wealth befalleth not the good hearted.

That, also is futility,
Vanity of vanities.

Starving Stability

My feelings I store on empty shelves of shoulders that don't hold much but selfish needs. Preserved in salt to heal wounds and burn at once so to not forget the labels that have tested time, Patience and strength. Throughout time ,
I have tested waters flavored with agony's pungent seasoning knowing it's not for me nor suits my palate but I don't know yet if I'm the rancid offering or if the additives are spoiled. Tasteless, dry, almost dust like texture dashed on an unfavorable dish will always turn stomachs and noses away from edible sources. Why would one turn down a feast of delicacy for a home cooked bland ass meal. I would but that's because I know the value of blood sweat and tears not just how to lick my plate clean, snap fingers and silver set before me. .

Premium Member Unfavorable Winds

Fabled America is slipping away,
surely you’ve felt it, like wind knocking
a weather vane in another direction.
At some unnoticed moment
we decided to ignore realities
as a man intent on drowning himself
plows heedlessly through the waves.

Acknowledgements From the Wind

we were withering seedlings perched in unfavorable soil
until we escaped the comfort zone
and scattered beyond
now the wind calls us dandelions

Premium Member A Better Day

I dream of a brighter future.
With an unfavorable stare.
Everything was left in the dark.
As though you were lost in a maze.
We lived as though we were about to die.
Nobody cares, no one notices.
We always manage to realize.
Those criminals know who we are.
Today is the day to get out of bed!
Prepare by dressing up with zeal.

To Be Fair Or To Be Nice

To be fair or to be nice

Sometimes I stumble, I stumble upon to be fair or to be nice
To be fair, might mean to be not nice
To be fair means to pass unfavorable judgement to someone
That someone you might like very much. To be fair or to be nice?
To be nice might mean to be unjust.
To be fair or to be nice?

To be fair might mean giving someone the chance.
That someone might be your competition. To be fair or to be nice?
To be nice means to be fair, but to be fair costs you
To be fair or to be nice?

To be fair means everyone has a say.
Not everyone has a good say.
To be nice might be saying anything that they want to hear, even without the associated action.
That has future impacts
To be fair or to be nice?

To be fair means strength, to be fair means accountability, to be fair means challenge
To be fair means responsibility. To be fair is not easy
Choose to be fair. To be nice is a shortcut that goes nowhere.
Just do not stumble like me , be fair!

The Seat of Justice

It's hard, stationary,
 transfixed in place
 weather-worn,
 badgered by reactive innuendo
a sculpted image of someone's admiration
 some hardened forgotten
 deluded memory
recorded in a complicated untruthful history
focused on one failure or one accomplishment
 with purpose, intent
 long-forgotten unforgivable
 now unfavorable,
a remnant of time passed
 graffiti stained and bludgeoned change
 for what we reactively assume
 it once or still represents
distasteful to some
 a triggered interpretation
honored by the presence of others
 seeing it differently today,
the monuments of our unworthy ancestors
the indignation of our self-righteous predecessors
 and the enlightened indulgent imagery
of who we are becoming today
in the future
 hope is yet be written
 how will our children,
 and our children's children
see us?
 Take a seat,
 reflect,
 plan,
imagine seeing who you are
 see where you're going
 acknowledge where you have been
 and how you got here
where
 will you be
 today
 and tomorrow?

Premium Member Skeleton In Closets

As we focus shoot with our floppy lobes,
A gossamer film disguise the eardrums,
Echoes entertain all malicious probes,
Tidings beseech fortuitous pilgrims.

Jealousy encourage hostile intents,
Embittered rivalry host the defied,
Chief points yield unfavorable segments,
Relentless attacks hearten the implied.

Siblings, friends one day, then foes being hexed,
Vices sprung snoops, spies, all those overhears,
Cornered lab specimen hopelessly vexed,
Tuning in abate when choice disappears.

Ancient habits fester long before youth,
Prized intrigues unravel lies than the truth.

In the Heat of the Night

Love finds itself fading away. "In the Heat of the Night" sweat from your inner possessions In the heat of the night.

Sympathy sets in like a thief in the night awaiting at gun point leaving no room for escape.

Exhausted, crushed as if depression has caught up as one sinks down low with moments of valleys and peaks that lead to episodes of disappointment & pleasure like a enemy who enters...

"In the heat of the night" leaving unreal illusions of maybe so, are just laughter with no room for escape.

It hurts so bad, inferior, second rate, unpleasant, unwelcome and unfavorable.
In the heat of night all hell breaks loose.

It's like a forbidden fruit, the taste of rotten legacy in the pit of your stomach as it's juices run down the frontal part of a naked body lost & alone poisoned by the forbidden fruit.

It's in the heat of the night that the forbidden fruit comes ALIVE...
just to be faced with reality of truth.
