Notes About The Poem

More than 14,480 firefighters are fighting the 13 active fires in the state of California. Our family experienced the pain from one of the fires very closely.  My sincere thanks to all the fire fighting heros who are on the frontline serving the affected communities.

To All the Firefighting Heroes

Opaque skies, Smokey air
Gloomy times, Ashes all over

Burning fire, Steep terrain
Gusty winds, Fight extends

Double shifts, Lengthy nights
Unfavorable conditions, Hazardous sites

Skyrocketing blazes, Stinging eyes
Tenacious labor, Brave exploits

Wind alterations, falling embers
Spot fires, Challenging levels

Dealing with hazardous flames and willing to take risks
saving others while making self-sacrifice

I appreciate your courage, compassion and devotion
Sending prayers for your safety and a successful mission
