Turn Off the Room

I met a man on the road today
otherworldly, gamin, fey.
A gimlet look in his jaundiced eye,
he held my gaze and I questioned why
he wandered here, 
a mendicant man of pleasant demeanour, 
when, from his coat, he produced an ocarina
and proceeded to play a tune so jolly
yet full of pathos and melancholy
that my soul was transported

LIGHT-SWITCH
I was ignored in the light
So I hid in the dark
I was shamed and sly
So I told myself a-lie
Full of despair, now I grown out my hair
Like Samson my strength in follicles
My feelings recreational 
Neither longer truth nor dare
This chapter in my life sparks
Memories no longer in the dark

Crashing red lights having already entered my brain,
Insisting to stay no matter how much thoughts do complain.
Prancing white apologists entwined with remorseless killers,
Muttering useless explanations of a cause so very long dead.
Watching assassination of spirits while minds are orphaned,
Living forever alone surrounded by nothing that cares.
Switching globes yet still finding blindly looking

Turn Off the Alarm

Breach alarm klaxon blaring


There’s nothing to see ... 
just pretend like you didn’t hear 
that warning sound

Don’t be alarmed:
Take a couple of these Valium chill pills
to help calm your nerves down

Do you like the soothing, Geiger music in the background,
can I get you anything synthetic
to make your erratic heartbeat soften it’s amplified pound?
