I am finding my gratitude in the Beatles
and the pure white dove…
who stand for peace,
for pacifism
and who understand and symbolize
to make the world a better place
all we need is love.

The Beatles made an awesome hit;
from England came, and quickly lit
the way that music would be heard.
Though some would think it quite absurd,
their songs rose high on all the charts
and stole the love of teenage hearts.
Most famous song was "Yesterday."
Paul, John, George, Ringo- led their way!

The Song is my Superpower

I’ve Just Seen a Face
my first selection
I become more than I am
for the contest
I sing without the prompts
and make the lyrics mine.
I'm happy to have the day off.
Neon lights shine in the window
as other patrons watch
and someone throwing darts
pauses to take a look.
Free deli sandwiches
and chips on a table—
a special night to partake.
My second, Lady

Conjuring the Lives of Paul McCartney and The Beatles

I’m bringing out the songs
lingering inside
as patrons in the bar
gaze at me—
I’ve been waiting for this night
for the last two days.
I am looking for the stars
while singing from my heart.
I sing I’ve Just Seen a Face
something I first heard
in sixth grade when walking
into the classroom.
Through the years it stirs
sweet memories of women I met.
I sing

The band John Lennon
formed, called The Quarrymen
played half skiffle and
half rock and roll.

Four years later in
nineteen sixty, the band
evolved into The Beatles
with five men lineup.

John, Paul, George, Stuart,
who died and Peter,
replaced by Ringo were
nicknamed The Fab Four.

Their arrival here sixty

Premium MemberFrom Bach To the Beatles To the Birds

I had the most beautiful musical experience…and it all begins…
with a thousand candles and four musicians…one cello and three violins.

This string quartet sat on a stage surrounded by candlelight
and played music from Bach to the Beatles as day slowly surrendered to night.

In a small…intimate setting…before the evening was done…
they played everything from Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto

*Inspired by the Beatles song: Let it be

The answer may come with the wind,
Or maybe when you are sitting by the river
It may come with the rolling waves at the beach
Or reach you on a high mountain top
The answer you are looking for may rise with the sun,
As it shines through your window with

Corner Store, Park, the Beatles

Mike Bayles

floor creaks
footsteps echo
cans of shelves
feeling small
I follow my older cousin
he buys me
Beatle bubblegum cards
the outdoors calls
luscious park and playground
near my school
greenery abounds
a walk back home
secret conversations
I say Paul
and he agrees
aimless clouds drift
lambs and lions
and daisy chains
always a rhythm in time

Premium MemberWhen I Heard About the Beatles

I was a preteen when I first heard about The Beatles.
Small town girl from the country, sure we had TV
But we did not know anything about England or Liverpool.
I had never heard “We all live in a Yellow Submarine”.

I was at church camp when someone put up some
Black and white posters around the

The Beatles

when i was young
my father played me their songs
and the message played from the speakers
was one of love.

"i want to hold your hand"
because when we touch, i feel happy inside.

"good day sunshine"
because you shine upon my love and i.

"something in the way she moves attracts me like no other lover"
because she is special in

Eleanor looked down at St. Peter’s and smiled.
“More visitors today,” she reported.
Her angel mentor smiled.

A scullery maid in life,
Dead at the age of forty-four,
Eleanor had never suspected she would become famous

Best day of my spirit life
When those two boys met
At my gravestone, she said.

John came over and said,
“Best pals ever,” sending Paul vast
