Thoughts and feelings written in words….how powerful you are
I vent, you listen, you stay silent….without opinion
No expectations, no judgement, no disappointment
Readily available….you are one in a million!
Poetry is more than a feeling to me.
It's a path to express what others can't see.
It's what I feel when the glass is full.
What I do when I feel breathless
and want to feel whole.
The kind little girl is trying to live.
She's swinging her wings.
She's trying to give what others denied,
trying to feel which feelings are right.
Poetry is more to me than just art.
Even if ,the road is stark
the soft words of love coming from my heart
are always there, even in the dark.
It always stays,
won't ever break,
won't be destroyed
or ever be late.
It gives me reason to stay
instead of trying to escape.
Poetry is the love to myself
that I denied to accept
because I was scared
that it'd be taken away.
But no one can take the words out my mind.
The weapons I spit to feel defined.
The words I use to cut myself
and everyone else who tries to help,
because there's nothing I need more
than to express myself.
Thoughts can overwhelm,
but this is the tool to fool your mind,
make it believe all you write and rhyme.
Poetry means life to me.

I sat inside your office at the age of forty-five,
A farmer's desperation just to keep the dream alive.
Just hoping you would look at me and take a chance to see,
The farmer's steady promise that was still inside of me.
I'll admit I'm far from perfect, and I surely wasn't then,
But I learned mechanic's lessons in the rust beside the men.
That my true value isn't found in polish or in gold,
But in the perseverance when the nights were growing cold.
The months went by, the days grew long, until the layoffs hit,
And when the storm came crashing down, my time was sadly clipped.
I still remember clearly the words you said that day,
"I hope our paths will cross again somewhere along the way."
I spent eight years in other jobs, the foundry called me back,
And finally put my purpose and my spirit back on track.
I know it was my second chance, a light that has been lit,
And I'm glad to have been taught by you the truth in all the grit.
(thank you)
My heart bleeds red, my soul craves love,
To soar like an eagle or fly like a dove.
Nothing much matters in these earthly bounds;
Not the rust, nor the gold, nor the wealth that surrounds.
I put on the paper with pen and with ink,
The words of the heart we most often think.
For the gold is the sky, freedom is bird,
Life is the blue, and the stories unheard.

My poetry!
Chances are
Come time to remain
It wears our crest
It knows of our land our domain
Deep thought in time of massacre
But after, that's when the River can explain
I released the burden
The arrow out the quiver
The AR15 or the M16
But this time, there is no profit to save us
Proof of reverence deep in our vein
Today, I feel a fight but with no man or life against
Just to keep water below my neck
The ones should never be given the power
Poverty's grip bounces in the street
Then acts like a clown and becomes the wind
The weight is incredible
But it floats away
Carried by those with love deep
Enter the invited invaders
Their white hanker-chief waiting to be
Someone with a free ticket
Someone the opposite of me
Chronically disabled, can't shut the **** up,
'Cause the internet raised me on two girls and one cup.
Spit this shi* out my ass**** while you lap and you suck,
As you kneel for the Man 'cause you can't wait to get cucked.
There's a sickness in this country like the dick at the top,
But if you wave it in the People's face it's bound to get lopped.
Then you'll know how it feels to be a boy that's a girl,
While your neighbors all disdain you for the flag you unfurl.
"Heil" to the world, controversy is fun-
Now they keep your ***** ass "safe" at the sound of a gun.
It's been a long time
Since I wrote a rhyme
Let me pen one now
With my verse, I'll wow
Ten years since I joined
In Soup, words I coined
A great trip so far
My friends you all are
I am here to stay
Till my hair grows gray
Thank you dear Soup friends
And here my rhyme ends
The women
I know now
are all very
beautiful
kind, gentle,
intelligent
and brave,
but also
very tough.
I am glad
that I can
always count
on them to
gently
let me know
when I am
not being kind
to my own
mind enough.
Holding
one another
accountable
is our shared
distinct way
of showing
the depths
and the
intensity
of our love.
"To every thing there is a season,
and a time to every purpose
under the heaven:" Eccl. 3:1
I don't rightly know.
I might have said it before.
But it might be time for more.
Saying 'thank you' is never a chore.
Anyway, I am amazed by you.
I am encouraged by you.
I am enriched by you.
I am inspired by you.
I am enabled by you.
When I needed a place
To post my muse,
You were there.
And not once did you refuse
To post my expressions.
You became a real blessing.
I never knew there was such
A haven of rest like you;
Such a 'sponging place' to draw
From me my very best.
I believe that God is using you
To aid me in discovering me;
To complete my life's puzzle,
Little by little, piece by piece;
To provide the assist I dearly
Needed to complete my purpose.
To Poetry Soup and my fellow soupers,
'Thank you' for being such real troopers.
Oh! Hallelujah Glory to God
Wooh ooh oh
I process proper acknowledgement
Physically mentally verbally
Express eye digress appreciate god
Wooh! Ahh! Ahh!

This month I made a brand new friend
And she is such a gem!
In one way or another,
Every day we've spoken.
A connection sparked, I don't know how,
It happened very fast.
Yet, we both know we've formed a bond
That will, for a lifetime, last.
There's thirty four years between us
This was for her a concern.
But this gap means nothing
As friends soon come to learn.
We meet somewhere in the middle
As at heart I'm old - she's young
We share a certain sense of humour
And our sense of fun.
Overcoming reservations
And giving it a chance,
We have now seen each other
And have heard the accents dance.
What a lovely gift to get
When right out of the blue
An unexpected friend arrives
As though made just for you!
Looking at life, I can't help but feel
That you've arrived at the best time.
Thank you, my sweet dear new friend!

July 2026
As I snuggle beneath the sheet
I thank you Lord placing my feet
at such a distance from my nose
and all else 'tween my head and toes.
Though other things you could improve,
of this design I do approve.
Thanks to all the women and men,
Who fight for the red white and blue,
They put their lives on the line,
To fight and protect me and you.
I thank you with all my heart and soul,
For all your courage and valor,
For doing all that you can do,
In your heart a higher stature.
I thank you deeply,
With my heartfelt tears,
For keeping me warm and safe,
Throughout my living years.
