Premium Member...For Maymie

(thank you)

My heart bleeds red, my soul craves love,
To soar like an eagle or fly like a dove.
Nothing much matters in these earthly bounds;
Not the rust, nor the gold, nor the wealth that surrounds.
I put on the paper with pen and with ink,
The words of the heart we most often think.
For the gold is the sky, freedom is bird,
Life is the blue, and the stories unheard.

Premium MemberThank you Enchanted Crow

I had never been to the magical potions shop
but when I heard of it, my questions would not stop
I begged my parents to take me there
But they were not magical and did not care

My enchanted crow was hidden away in my room
He got on my computer and logged into Zoom
Asked a murder of crows for a map which was given immediately.
I am now shopping at a potions shop, with my best friend, Bree.

Premium MemberOur Better Angels

I wonder, yes I wonder, how many angels do we have in a lifetime? They say, we each have a guardian angel watching over us. I wonder, yes I wonder, if some angels are in training? Do they need to earn their title, with on the job training? Then we have,  Our Better Angels. The ones we can count on through thick and thin. The ones that will always be there, there when we need them the most. I send a huge Thank You to you, my better angels.

Premium MemberOde to a Pressure Cooker

In my kitchen, there's a treasure,
scrumptious dinner, it helps me prepare.
Under pressure it combines flavors,
Serves proudly, mouthwatering savors.

This wonder made of stainless steel,
Shines like a star among my utensils.
Rice, beans, soup, or stew,
Ready in a flash for the whole crew.

Safety valve and rubber gasket,
Ensure this helper is not a threat.
Though it shrieks like a train,
This gadget is a faithful friend.

I rely on this device a lot,
As it gives peace to my heart.
So, here's to the pressure cooker's plea,
Transforming ingredients into a glee!

Premium Member-Thankyou My Loyal Poet Friend

Loyalty and honesty mean everything to me
It is not always easy to find
Yet I have found it here on Poetry Soup
With a poet so supportive and kind

He has my back completely
Supported me when l was openly wronged
Never to be coerced by empty poetic words
His sincerity and loyalty unwaveringly strong

I just wanted to say a huge Thankyou …..l appreciate you so much!

Premium MemberWith a Lifetime of Thanks

My words all stem from a happy thought.
I’ve received a present from someone who
has given me a gift that touched my heart,
but who it is didn’t give me a single clue.

Such a gracious gesture from a kindred soul
is from a poet who has the vision to see
that he/she played a generous donor’s roll
by granting a lifetime membership to me.

Whoever you are, my dear anonymous friend,
this note of thanks to you, I gratefully send.

                            The Champagne of Life
                                       7/26/2023

Tis the delight of the liquid, golden, morning sun,
Gleaming in my tall, orange juice’s crystal glass.
Add gratitude, for you, a poet, with morals and class.

You may not be the best poet at the top of the list.
But to communicate your very best is your wish.
You are not all out there, trying to be a champion fish!

People like you. dear friend, communicate love.
For you are the rainbow bubbles in my day’s hours.
I read humble you, with joy, in these poetic towers

Premium MemberFor My Friend, Chantelle

She is in my corner, day or night.
That makes my life, so beautiful and light.

Friends accept you for who you are.
In this aspect, Chantelle sparkles like a star.

Her writing is truly outstanding.
I know on herself, she is most demanding.

Yes, God, thank you, for sending this angel my way.
She makes each dawn, a better day.

Make her days, I beg, please, be free of pain.
Fill her days, with rainbows, but never rain!

Premium MemberA Heartfelt Thank You Gift

I have a thank you for you, my friend said.
Let’s call her Terry.
You can have any three you want.
I had no idea what she was popping out of the freezer bag.
It was frozen dinners; we both eat them.

This one’s for you, she said.
And this one.
And this one.
She gave me two spaghettis and a lasagna.
‘Then she closed up the bag; I have no idea what she kept.

We had already discussed that she did not
like the spaghettis or the lasagnas.
So much for choosing.

Premium MemberTribute To Ann Gilmore, Echoes of Two Hearts

Echoes of Two Hearts

Warm, vivacious, a friend is she.
Brave and so courageous.
Her emails literally, smile at me.
What poet writes of another’s pet?
Ann Gilmour does, don’t you know?
She’s not here to win or steal the show!

No, jealousy poisons her poetic heart.
Quite loving, is dearest Ann.
She lives near the waves of the sea.
The celestial bodies are Ann’s pets.
Blessed to have her as friend, she just
glows.
It’s our crystalline friendship, that so
magnificently grows.

Premium MemberThank You Friend

Thank you for understanding
The words I couldn’t speak
Thank you for accepting
The worst part of me
Thank you for expressing
Interest in my heart
Thank you for giving me
A second chance to love

Thank you…

For encouraging me
When I couldn’t hope
For inspiring me
To never give up
For reassuring me
When I was afraid
For enlightening me
With your own faith
For reminding me
That love is eternal

Thank you…

For the smiles you gave
Expressions of sincerity
For the joy and praise
The gifts from your heart
The ones that taught
And the ones that sought
To remind me of a love
That will always be enough

Thank you… for you,
My forever friend
I will always love you
And think so highly of you.
