  In the shadow
  Where all the pieces be
  Laid out
  For the world to see
  Connected parts of thought
  Filaments joined tenuously
  Bits created
  Flightiness

Beguiled risks sensitive alterations
that redesigned unknots and cutup trice
as the fresh teases through the looking glass
exposing timepiece resemblance glossed spilled.
Bemused forgives absence, mindful at hand,
tenuously gripping the rolled spent yarn
that edges fingertips loosely as threads
answer questionable finds, stitch-by-stitch.
Period accentuates the sensed thence
for the bestilled entangled narrative
plots exclamation points of those foregone
chapters ... period midst frames of escape.
Styled room for maneuvering that spirals
at a loss now hangs overhead ticking ...
mockery behold guardians of greens
that grow within disoriented poise.
Blue compliments presence expressed squarely
drafting the voiceless lucid residue
that nurtured former brush and forever
sealed a dream sweeter than a Danish roll.

hanging tenuously from tree branch the ripe object of temptation

sunlight peeks through the hill trees signaling arrival of a new day

more a curse than a blessing, less a decision than affirmation

worn leather valise undergoes the rigors of final journey

faded granite marker put in position two hundred years ago

no matter how tight we cling to existence, it shall leave us behind

dark silence of ornate gilded nave constrained angst for generations

always shall be the prospect of something beyond our imagining

hiking along the high trail yields broad vistas of surrounding islands

suffering through the high-pitched howling of a bitter northerly wind

desiring to ensure that the lies which I tell myself are harmless

better a fond memory than just another imperfect being

within life's confines, relevance has ever been a moving target

Premium MemberDid We Go Too Far

Did we finally just push things too far
step over a sign warning us "Avert"?
Roads newly cluttered and freshly tarred
with bodies of those our trodding has hurt.

Did we laugh, throwing caution in the air,
watch it bobble, wobble, gracelessly fall
Caps, but no masks, smiling "I don't care,
freedom is ours, we will march to its call!"

Judges, juries, jargon, jousting, and jails:
none up to the task of saving our lives.
Speaking quietly over loud, angry wails,
reason, persistence may help us survive.

Losing Democracy our biggest dread,
it hangs tenuously by a truth's thread.

Premium MemberThe Setting Sun

Forlornly I sit with my back to the world,

While the ravens circle above my head.

There’s no point I find within my thoughts,

As I struggle tenuously to fill this void.

Then a voice whispers softly in my ear,

“Go to the place that’s absent from the sun.”

So as I contemplated the words I’d heard,

My heart sinking rapidly at every turn.

Emotionally I felt the truth in my bones,

There’s no place left on earth to roam.

So I sat with my back to the setting sun,

No question have I left myself to ask.

The answer so obvious, finally I have passed.

The Hours of Poetry Both 2u and I Have Spent Decomposing

Though for hour's

i as myself

And probably you as i

Have spent nay been transfixed

Ever pondering and decomposing
the poetic verse

Starring hazy glazed into an
unfulfilled keyboard dimly lit
computer screen

I just can't find the thoughts i
wish my mind's to find or remitt

Likewise transmit the emotions
i am aspiring to committ to or
admit to

As everytime a word and thought
appears

A second later it disappears

And cometh now hour's late
at night once darkness is
subsidizing and the sun has
begun to peek inside
my curtains

I am as i was hour's earlier still
starring ever more tired at an
empty computer screen

Devoid of both my word's my
thoughts and emotions

Apart from what i am currently
relating to you now

Simply wishing to whilst away a
passing few hour's away

Until i have or can come up
with something of reverence
to relay

And my mind starts stimulating
and titillating my fingers upon
my ever more expectantly
keyboard key's

When once finished written and
thus posted i tenuously read back

In hopeless expectation

Of better thing's in hour's to come

Premium MemberComing Back Home

C —coming back home, for one final time
O—only thing left to do, lay here I’m dying
M—my family round me, say their prayers
I—-i’m heavily medicated, tenuously aware
N—no more pain, just conscious illusions
G—gravitas sinks in, along with confusion
B—breathing is shallow, gasping for breath
A—as night closes in, to accompany death
C—can hear them say, dear god he’s going
K—kisses on my forehead, faintly growing
H—holding hands, helps bear the weight
O—overwhelmed in love, there is no hate
M—my life flashing past, I’m a child again
E—each frame’s forever, it’s snowing! amen.

Said and Done

Over!
When, how, where was I
 when the dream had come?
When it's all said and done
 it's the emptiness that stays.
Life moves so fast,
quick in the years that pass.
What was I thinking?
We had thought our time was forever
full of the laughter and tears treasured,
every day a joy and pleasure
 each word and hug tenuously measured;
time doesn't wait
and we can miss the moment when we hesitate
then suddenly it's over regrets too late,
smile for me, just once more
when love takes away the pleasures of life
and everything is said and done
 and love slips away, gone.

Premium MemberI'M Just Getting Started

It was an uphill long climb, grueling for me,
up the precipitous slope called career,
unpredictably slippery and tenuously craggy,
I followed the winding contours with tenacity
leading me to the summit people called success
where the sky of aspiration seemed limitless.

It’s time now to hang up the boots,
begin the downhill descend on bare foot,
realize how difficult it is to climb down
the discarded forlorn track to nowhere
in the darkness of obscurity,
for the limelight has disappeared.

I’m just getting started
to embark on a lonely last mile journey
over the debris of defoliated trees,
once looking up to the seamless sky,
through the dwindling dale
where shards of time roll uncounted
to remote emptiness where the bells will toll
for me to start the ultimate voyage to eternity.

Premium MemberThe Yoke of Inhumanity

Hope tenuously hovers over our wounded world
Usurped of compassion, greed is gaining control
Mankind no longer respects the gift of human life
Apathy runs rampant when overdosed on delusions
Natural affection for our neighbors no longer exists
Ignoring the maladies is a threat to the human race
Tethered to tyranny will chain us to grief. Divest the
Yoke of inhumanity and retain integrity to show we care

The Gestalt

In the beginning were the words—just eight,
Brittle and apparently unrelated,
Though mysteriously God was,
As always, already there in the words.
Then the words tenuously seemed to point to God.
Soon there emerged a description of Him:
He is the immutable and formidable Being!
However bereft of faith I might have been before,
Now demurely I approached the Almighty.
Now that I had the sketch of the Divine design,
My interlude of a prayer went up.
And I hope to be answered.
Come to think of it, the words
Seem to have a gestalt divine!

PULLING THE TRIGGER

a centrifugal shot
captivating

     officers investigating
     knocking on doors

across the street
silence

     until a single mother
     returns

a siren screams
for two hours

     the coroner
     appears, placid

neighbors nudged
the mother, of one son,

     outside, where oxygen
     could not breathe

where a home, once stood
only walls speak

      neighbors listen
      tenuously

Metal Bones

Oh king atop your throne,
Why do your silent thoughts,
Drown out your own wails and moans,
You seek respite after the wars you’re fought,
By sitting atop your gold plated loft,
Trapped within your iron scales and jewel encrusted bones,
Your scars barely tenuously clasp your skin together in a thousand slipknots,
Your crown bears an omen like the eulogy on a tombstone,
Beware the man whose life is fraught,
With the fear of losing all that he’s sought,
For that man is your king atop his throne,
Of skin crafted rugs and metal bones.
