Take That Time

Take that time!

Take that time.
To slow things down.
When you feel it's not meant to go that fast.
When you feel should not speak so often.
When you feel that you want to absorb the energy first.
When you feel to just, slow down a bit.
Take that time.

Take that time
To watch and observe.
When you feel everything is vivid.
When you feel there is something far and beyond.
When you feel you should, just, sit down and see the inner world,
For the outer world neither feels important nor seems interesting anymore.
Take that time.

Take that time
To break free
When you feel lost in this hassle.
When you don’t want to be or do what others decide of you.
When you want to rebel around till you find your purpose,
And do the things that you feel are meant for you and only you
Take that time.

Take that time
To release yourself from all shackles.
When you feel you could have saved someone but didn’t,
When you could have appreciated someone but didn’t.
When you feel you could have loved her without being sore,
When you feel you should die a little less and live a little more.
Take that time.
Take that time.

Premium Member I Will Take That Frog

I have a frisky frog on my back the flamingo whined.
He jumped on last night when I went out to dine.
I wish I had one lamented Old Maid Clementine.
She had been a floozy in her day, and she knew how to grind.

Little Miss Take would steal anything
She’d steal from a pauper, she’d steal from a King
Don’t show her a bell if it goes ding a ling
For when you’re not looking she’ll half inch its ring

Little Miss Take does not like to pay
She knows what she likes and she’ll whisk it away
She’d steal the moon as it slept in the day
She’s barred from the grotto, she nicked Santa’s sleigh

Little Miss Take if she needs to be fed
Will nab eggs and bacon and butter and bread
And getting it cooked won’t befuddle her head
She’ll just nick the camping stove out of your shed

‘Little Miss Take is my name,’ she once said
But she wasn’t named as a thief, but instead
’twas only a quick drunken fumble in bed
And her mum and her dad hadn’t planned to get wed

Two policemen at a luncheon
Both men wearing a truncheon
When a youth started a fight
The policemen struck the boy with might
All done without compunction

                 ~ A Haiku Quartet~

            My lover Jacques and I
            Totally free on the deck
            No space between us

            Not a mask in sight
            Washing hands gets a big vote
            Blithesome in freedom

            Close on streets we walk
            Laughter is our oxygen
            God our daily medicine

            Guests welcomed always
            No media ghosts allowed
            Our joy just abounds

                       ~~~
Too Late
You already said it
Pack your Bags
I want you gone in the morning
Mind break
Just a moment ... frozen
Time stands still, in a very quantum way, (chuckle)
I look down by the base of the ladder
It's just a footprint, left by a boot
It could be ANY foot ... or any boot, really
But its mine, and perfect, the dusty soil like talcum
Every irregularity in my sole, left there as witness
But nothing special ... nothing earth-shattering, (another chuckle)
How many millions of such have been placed?
And without a thought or bugle call
Oh, the words that will be spun!
The phrases woven for the sake of that single impression!
For despite its normalcy and casual imprint
It IS special after all ...
The very first pressed on this new frontier,
The moon.
Take That Chance
Take that chance
And face your fear
Be courageous
Pull yourself into full gear
Believe that you can
Be the inspiration
Put your heart into everything
And enlighten the sensation
Just Take That Chance
Just take that chance
You can achieve more
Spread your wings thoroughly
There is much more in store
Climb those stairs
And provide that spark
Go for that gold
Make that mind sharp
Always Take That Step Forward
Always take that step forward
Move towards the light
Escape from the dark clouds
In order to make your world bright
The choice is yours
Create your legacy
Be all about your business
Manifest your destiny
Always Take That Chance
Always take that chance
Believe that you can
Have the courage
That is the master plan
Go forward and conquer
Reach for that gold
It is within you
Liberate your soul
Take That Chance
Take that chance
One time is all you may get
Do not waste precious moments
Or else, you will surely regret
Put your heart into everything
As you embark on your journey
You just may surprise yourself
And rise to victory
Premium Member Don'T Take That Crown
The golden life I claim
Was neither earned
Nor deserved,
For I climbed the ladder
Trampling the underserved.
On the day of reckoning
When I count all my wins,
No way can I explain
Why there were no losses.
Regrets accumulated over time
Now demand humility,
But the treasures I own
Contain only pride and gloating.
Don't take that crown
When I wish to surrender,
And don't remind me
How high I sit,
For when I hear the call
I will find out
How deep I must fall.
Premium Member 'take That' Ticket Touts
Tickets went on sale to see Gary Barlow
A well loved singer, it will be a sell out show
My hubby was 1600th in the on-line queue
There were no tickets left when he got through
I went on the Internet to see if any were for sale
Yipee, I found a ticket, but my face went pale
The face value of the ticket was £163 pounds
but the price they were asking it just astounds
It was five times the cost of the original ticket
Such intense profiteering, it just isn’t cricket!
Title is a play on words – Gary Barlow was a member of a group called ‘take that’
The venue only holds around 2,000 people so ticket demand was very high and it sold out very quickly. Poetic licence used – hubby didn’t bother staying on line to get the tickets as he knew it would be sold out
* a British phrase  -  if behaviour is not cricket, it is not honest or moral
