Premium MemberWhat I Read

I once read about a middle ages warrior
Who was forced into a secret hide away.

With time on his hand, he observed an ant.
The ant continued his effort in scalling a wall.

The ant was carrying a grain of corn and made
Repeated attempts to climb the wall with the corn.

The ant failed 69 times in his most difficult pursuit.
Counting each attempt, the warrior said that the ant succeeded in his 70th attempt. Can you imagine the
Courage that the ant must have given to the warrior?

From this story, three Words come to mind.
Desire, commitment, and determination.

The lobster was good because it is nurishment,
And it keeps my friend alive. For that I am grateful.
Bob asked, "How's the lobster?" He really wanted
To know because after his surgery, he had
no way of knowing.

The dinner engagement with my friend was
Great, and I assured him that the lobster was
Among the best. It was one dark night, but we
Parked by the street lamp. Its glow was
A soothing assist to a wonderful night.

The cancer succeeded in its thievery
By robbing him of one of his senses.
The cancer tried to kill him but failed.
He's still able to see, hear, smell, and feel.

One's spirit can be fully engaged,
Even when missing a sensory function.
I learned firsthand an amazing awareness
from a dear friend. Of this, I am deeply
moved and appreciative.

The Race of life by Blossom Monyei

"The Race of life" by #blossommonyei
The race of life
I am about to describe
Where some has to work and strive
While the others bribe.

As the first car runs faster than the other
With ease it crosses every border
It wins every level
Without any struggle.

The second car lacked speed.
And prays not to be defeated.
To him the audience paid less heed.
You only have friends when you have succeeded.

The race of life begins at birth
And most people give up too soon.
There's nothing easy on this earth
Unless you're born with silver spoon.

You'll cross the finish line with hardworks
Leave those oportuned, their money talks.
Finish the race it's yours to fend.
Never loose hope until the very end.

Heavy Hands

With the weight of the world
In your hands
You quickly learn and understand
Dependency is something to be ashamed of

When you hand that weight to someone else
You wanna take it back
You practically beg
So you don't see them in the same pain

With the weight back
You begin to crumble
And all 8 billion of the people
And all the land and sea animals
Begin to shake and fall

"How irresponsible! You could've killed us all" They screech
"But I've held on for so long!"
You try to reason

But no matter how long you succeeded
You almost depleted
Now, the shame overwhelms you
It takes more willpower than you own
To keep it contained in you!

     Ardent ardour rippling in romance.
Glamour in amour also to dance.
Marital life running smooth with bliss.
Ideal family, I succeeded to establish.
      No complaints in marital relationship.
My duties cum career, I loved to worship.

      Loving husband and lovey children
felt me proud devoid of any strain.
Sudden thunderbolt blast in clear environ
Got devastated and heart was fully torn.

Conversation of Hubby in land line put me in suspicion
Somehow sensing pungent smell, picked up extension.
Stunned to listen about nasty betrayal.
Sudden shock sent me in dreadful dismal.
But my self-esteem and moral values forced
me to decide at that instant. Mentally I divorced
him : I discarded him, even situation was crucial.
When wound was malignant, surgery was essential.

A slivered moon is looming peacefully
above the pristine glow of golden dusk,
bathing in a navy sky,—me?, I bask
in her gush of seraphic majesty.

A careful look, cast in serenity,
reveals the silent shadow of her disk;
the sunless face wears a dark veil. Her mask
gazes upon me,—in return, I see

the full splendor of her thin sliced crescent.
Admiring the elegance of her curve,
I vow, tonight, my job is to preserve,
with my Poetry, her luminescent
form. I testify that, yes, I have tried—
?succeeded? that’s for others to decide.

HERE I OVERCOME WITH YOUR BLESSINGS O LORD

You have given me the ability to overcome,
Here I do to you proudly come,
To tell you how I overcame the evil,
Helping humanity to rise and punish the devil.

I succeeded with your blessings,
And now come to you,
All I need is hope,
In my mind showing me the ways to cope.

I respect you and love you,
And I also wish well to humanity,
And promise you that I will abolish the evil too,
And save the world from insanity.

Voice

Set aside all my worries and fears,
Calm my heart and to your beat.
Keep me from thinking I’m all alone,
No one accomplishes anything alone.

Remind me of my accomplishments,
I’ve succeeded in so many areas of life.
I pressure myself to get it right alone,
Polar opposite of the actual truth.

Help me to remain calm and trust,
I have faith in your power and grace.
I’m leaning into Philippians 4:6-7,
Trusting that you will guard my heart.

If I stay focused on the task in front,
And don’t stress my desires.
It will not be too late,
To change courses and renew my mind.

Funeral of Our Love

standing on altar
they said “greatest lovers united”
bejeweled in ‘shiny stones’
later to be thrown back
at me in courtroom

my obscured vision of love
i’m stripped off your ‘lover’ title
how did we get here? My love
from singing together at our wedding
to you playing at my funeral

trying to put back the bricks
that you once threw at me?

realization struck you
when I’m gone
your efforts will go waste
but dear you succeeded in saving your face
your tears of regret won’t dry any sooner
my love wasn’t an illusion
you will share my tears
but I wish you well
and someone who will share those tears

Lingering Questions

Can I die from a broken heart?
If I smile through the agony
Will it tear me apart?
Or will I somehow be ok?

If I drag myself out of bed
Clear the poisonous thoughts
Out of my fragile head
Will I somehow be ok?

Can I die from a broken heart?
Should I lay here and never leave
Or rise and focus on a fresh start
Tell me which do I choose?

When all is said and done
And I chose the latter of the two
Would that mean that he has succeeded?
In truly breaking me

Me, a playful kid never bothered for rank,
always considered all school exams as fun.
Not engaged in study, but most of time sank
in doing menace and playing in the Sun.

Sure to miss high rank in Examination,
when in fifth standard : Bad luck, just by one mark.
Me , extremely shocked without consolation.
Seemed it , as injustice to me, getting jerk.

Became determined to stand First on next year.
Succeeded ! Showed report to Dad being loud.
Delighted Dad hugged me tight, telling , " My Dear,
" Your success matters more than mine, I'm so proud."

Later life, I felt exact same emotion :
Success of my children got prominence.
Their achievements brought blissful satisfaction :
My performances have just lost importance.

Come Into Your Own

It never is too late to start
Pursuing what you dream.
Listen closely to your heart...
Allow your mind to stream.
Do not let status or age
Instill crisis within you.
Successfully turning the page?
Only if you decide to.

All of us when we are younger
Wish that we could be
A certain someone - this, we hunger
For innocently.
Many of us follow through,
Becoming with ambition.
Life goes on for others who
Do not reach such fruition.

Time, effort, determination...
All of which are needed
Concerning a qualification
Being earned - succeeded.
When it comes to a career
And all of its deployments,
Necessary to hold near...
Your passions and enjoyments.

Caught up in our daily lives...
Succumbing to routine.
Suppression of ambitious thrives
Which go unheard, unseen.
Commonly, what was desired
Is lost or forgotten.
Their fruits from a tree inspired...
Now, fallen and rotten.

At any given time, this tree
Can produce and provide
More fruits, of which you are free
To choose in your decide.
Will you come into your own...
Take up what makes you clever?
To say the least, this much is known...
Better late than never.

Fate of America

Trump should be defeated with truth and democracy
Not with weapons and zealous filled idiocy

Crooks, a young terrorist and short-sighted halfwit
Who sealed Fredonia’s fate and everyone who lives in it
Yalda’s fate that gods, angels, and men can’t outwit
Soon the shouts of people will make the land quake and split
Even if Crooks succeeded in his aim and made it
It would have made Trump into a martyr and spectre
Who even without that gold bold eagle sceptre
Would have his cold presence cover all of Fredonia
And make Fredonia burst into red and blue fire
And another man possessed by the phantom of zeal
Would arise from the ashes and makes Trump’s will real
