None of the guys
ever asked me out
they teased me
or just froze me out

I wasn’t stuck up
I was shy
I came from China
that is why

I didn’t know the styles and trends
or even where I should begin
there wasn’t much that I could say
I never talked much anyway..

so I sat there
and read

I was an incredibly
epic fail

To all the guys
who called me names
that tagged my locker
and tried to shame me

I wasn’t snooty
I was shy
I’d just come from China
that’s the why

I didn’t know the styles and trends
that let a new girl fit in
I’d never even used the Internet
I was as lost-in sauce as a girl gets..

so I sat there
and read

Which eventually
got me into Yale.

Premium Memberlet's be haughty and stuck up

The couple wanted to eat at an exclusive restaurant.
Wife said, “Let’s act like we are haughty and stuck up.”
Husband was all in; so they ate with pinkie fingers up.
They were ultra-rude to the waiter; noses in the air.

They sent their food back twice; a chef came out.
He ordered them to leave; the entire place clapped.
Even the PTA president and her husband.
There would be HE double toothpicks to pay later.

Premium MemberGirly Hedgehog Stuck On Herself

Girly hedgehog is so feminine and fine
She should have suiters falling down in a line
My hair is perfect, my smile is a delight
What is wrong with these boys? They simply aren’t right!

Maybe you are too perfect, a butterfly suggests.
I agree! Throws in a wise robin from her perch on her nest.
You mean I am too good for all of them? Hey! That’s probably true!
So the stuck-on-herself hedgehog was now happy, not blue.

Premium MemberStuck In a Lift With Stuck Up Guy

The lift shook before it started
A warning sign which I did not heed
There was another guy in here too
He did not glance up

We stopped suddenly with a jerk
It knocked me almost off my feet
The guy wearing the suit hit his head
He glared at me

As if it is my fault
I wished I was a carnivore
And a cannibal.
I began elaborate plans to devour him
if we got stuck for a week or so

He deserved it
He had not been pleasant
There was no conversation
A fireman came down through the roof
He took me out first.
I was sad.
I had been plotting to bite the guy’s leg.

Fluffy The cat climbed the tree;
He had ran away from me;
Yet he stills meows;
To far up now;
How meow gonna git down now?

Premium MemberChasing His Stuck Up Wife

Let her go we urge our cousin
but he is enthralled, entranced,
totally gaga crazy about her

She calls him names
She puts him down
She makes fun of him
She teases him
She threatens him
She pokes and prods him
She irritates him to the edge of the grand canyon

And yet, there he goes,
Chasing her like a show pony

Premium MemberGrandpa Despised Stuck Up People Too Ct

I smiled when she said that he died.
She was a mean woman, no soul.
Refused to show inside I cried.
So being stoic was my goal.

She told some other people too.
Confidential? She had no clue.
I knew my grandfather loved me.
Imagined now that he could see.

I saw him in heaven laughing.
He despised pompous people too.
Grandma with him I imagined.
Bad-news-bearer had lost power.

Grandpa said to me that night too
Grandma and I are proud of you.

Premium MemberMy Stuck Up Pet Dragon

No my pet dragon will not speak to you.
If you sit quietly, he might appear.
There is truly nothing that you can do.
Less he might bite you, it is my worst fear.

Premium MemberSnotty Haughty Sea Turtle

Snotty haughty sea turtle.
Stuck up
Barely speaking to other sea creatures
Much ado about nothing

Snotty haughty sea turtle
Mean to others
For decades
Now trying to pretend you are not haughty?

Snotty haughty sea turtle
Waving now
Pretending you have a heart
Might as well go back into your shell.

Snotty haughty sea turtle.
Too late
Too arrogant.
Too you.

Premium MemberArrogant King of the Oak Mites

The king of the oak mites thought
he was all that, and was gloriously puffed up
Making the roaches laugh, and the leaves shake
Even the caterpillar queens made fun of his arrogance

The princess of the anthill got angry
She had fallen completely smitten under his self-promotion.
You are all jealous of the oak mite king, she chastised us.
We did not mention him again, to her face….

Premium MemberEven the Oppossum Stuck Up Her Nose

Our cupboards are full of junk no one would ever eat.
My husband has this little buy-too-many groceries problem.
Especially if they are on sale.
"I'm saving you money,' says he.

Sure.
He saved me money on 9 $1 jugs of tea I took to school and the
teachers poured out in the sink.
Teachers!
The biggest scavengers on the face of the planet.
The ones who will eat or drink anything.
Usually.

I discovered two cans of a unique off-brand dog food in the
cupboard yesterday when I was in manic mood and cleaning
after 11 years of naught.
"Why didn't we give this to Sophie?" I asked.
"I tried," he admitted. "She stuck up her nose."

I saw our little pet opossum out there a few minutes later,
so I ran out and put down the off-brand dog food.
The opossum ran off,so I followed her.
Pushing the off-brand dog food closer to her lair.
At 3:30 in the afternoon it was still there,
in a giant lump. Uneaten. Untasted.

Yes, you are certainly saving me money
when even the opossum puts up her nose.

Typically Luke Poem 3 - All Stuck Up

Luke’s been playing with the glue again
Now everything sticks everywhere
There’s food glued to the table
And his bum is glued to the chair

My feet are glued to the floorboards
My hands are glued to my side
I’ve even noticed the odd bird or two
Glued to the branches outside

I can see it will be one of those days
Clearing up will take forever
I was going to read my favourite book
But the pages are glued together

So I wouldn’t come and visit right now
Because things are a little bit wacky
And you may not be able to leave
What with everything being so tacky

I think I’ll just stand here a while
To be honest I’m frightened to sit
Maybe tomorrow will be better
As for today, well I’m stuck with it.
