Ghosts of my past
Still try to haunt
Manifest to demons
Demons of destruction
They broke so much
Tore me apart from the inside out
Took control
Made me miss precious moments
Cost me my life
For such a long time
Reflections don't shy away from the truth
But lies is all I saw
It's been a war
A battle for change
Thought all the weapons were accounted for
Then suddenly out no where
They attack nightly
Knocking me down
I wasn't able to rise above before
But now I stand and deliver everything I once hid
It's the reality of an imagination that was built for change
I knew it was time to move forward not back
Bring those I care for up not down
I was the demon inside outside I was numb
Not no more
Not today
It's all about consistency
It's all about hope
It's takes one small step to create footprints they all will remember
I am here now ready for what lies ahead
No expectations and no set plan
It's freedom in me to be the one that changes it all
On my way
Catch me if you can
Because once the chase is over
You will see how wonderful I can be.
I ain't poor
I'm just broke
So I need to fix it
I want more
I won't choke
And I ain't gon' quit
With my hammer
I'm knocking down the walls of fear and shame
I will stand and deliver without a stammer
With my screwdriver
I'm screwing into my goals
Taking some risks and jumping like a diver
I ain't poor
I'm just broke
And I gotta fix it
I want more
I won't choke
'Cause I'm in it to win it
With my pliers
I'm holding fast to faith and work
I'm pulling out all the nails of doubt and I'm
twisting all deniers
With my wrench in hand
Dreams I'm building and tightening
My design will beautifully stand
As I said,
I ain't poor
I'm just broke
And now I'm fixing it
At the Depot
As the snow flies, on a cold and grey December dawn
to waiting homes no mails are borne
from the depot.
Phil Bloggs, a mailman, scans the news
but his screwed up tabloid gives him the blues
saying 'To compromise both sides refuse,'
at the depot.
Hark! Foxes, stray cats, rats, critters all.
though humans languish, have a ball
in the depot.
On letters, parcels and Christmas boxes
little mice play, as do foxes.
Such a sight you never saw.
as stray dogs chew and rodents gnaw
in the depot.
What fleshpots in sealed parcels beckon
hungry vermin, who can reckon
in the depot?
What meaty dish, what luscious pie
teeters in a box stacked high?
No robber cries 'stand and deliver'
though many freeze and many shiver.
Phil Bloggs turns to another page
and what he reads puts him in rage
in the depot.
For guns and rockets billions go through
but for impoverished nurses barely a sou
in the ghetto.
Greetings, fellow poets, on this day of Thanksgiving, whether or not you celebrate the American holiday. I want you to know I appreciate the time you take to read and comment on my poetry. For you I give thanks and acknowledge you as my friends.
There are just a few who act like a troll, belittling some of us who try to control our anger. It's a task we shouldn't need and to your antics we'll not concede. So, listen up if you're a turkey... keep your cowardly necks out of our reach or you'll end up on a Thanksgiving table, where we'll feast on you. Never again will you be able to harass any of us. Your giblets will be in the gravy and your wishbone pulled apart. That's a promise made from the hearts of many of us who will stand and deliver the final blow.
so, let's talk turkey
show respect for each other
don't act like a jerk
today, let's give thanks
keep the soup a peaceful place (in spite of the threat)
thank you very much
Stand and deliver! this new bundle for your life
Never you knave, I’m a muse not some midwife
Bring me warm water, and lots of clean towels
Did you not hear, I use consonants and vowels
Too late it’s coming, goodness feels like a tome
Not really, congratulations! it’s a bite size poem

Born to repeat
Mistakes of my tree
Inspired by survival
Pain is free
In or out
Of this lottery
My family is growing
With others just like me
Protect the turf without hesitation
Watch your back no matter what the situation
Stand and deliver without guarantees
Your life is precious despite the disease
Sharp extensions to every hand
Navigation is treacherous through my land
Life is cheap, like a grain of sand
My traumatic living is getting out of hand
The plumbers name was stop cock jock
Whose eyes were firmly on the clock
Put his wrench in his belt
What a shock when he knelt
Cos the grippers caught in his ad hoc
With tears flowing like a river
He tried to stand and deliver
His bits changed to blue
Mates said what a to-do
Stop cock jock was all of a quiver
Penned January 3 2019
Twice in the month (full) then we're blue,
I saw you standing alone, nothing you could do,
maybe by Moon River with your lips in a quiver,
on Mars the canal man said: Stand and deliver.'
Perhaps I could have been called 'Two Moons,'
in the last life - 'I haven't seen you for months,'
then accused of speaking with a forked tongue,
on the trail where a white man had been well hung.
There were long shadows cast by an eerie glow,
with boots swinging and feathers bobbing in a row,
the old man in the moon must have been white,
because no one else could have been quite so bright.
They say that it's not so good to mention Uranus,
however, she's what we've got between all of us.
With the wind;
He brings change
A resurfacing of the scenery
With your eyes you can't see
With your heart you feel it
Sometimes this road seems hard
A rough complexion you may see
But tender hands caress you
No matter how lost you seem
He sees you
Finds your strengths nurses your weakness
The sky seems so far away
But it's within your reach
Tread into the dark for the light is stronger than you think
Fear breaks you down
Brings you to your knees
But there is where you are the strongest
A simple decision to stand and pace on
With help he will guide you
Stand and deliver your victory speech
Because life is the way you speak it
And how you believe it should be
Live like that Live like there is no tomorrow
Because in him there is always another day in his gracious garden.
On my road to see the Wizard of Oz
I've stopped at many places
Suddenly turned into each character
Survived each one of their Faces
My life has turned 360
Now I'm a light giver
The Wizard gave me some hope
I'll Stand and deliver
Now I can see the light in others
That they refuse to see
I can offer some words of kindness
To evolve in this century
It's not about anger and pain
I'm not a victim anymore
I'm finished with my rusty chains
I left them on your shore
Now I am an anchor
An example I will make
No one will be shipwrecked
My solid ground it doesn't shake
So when your off to see the Wizard of Oz
Don't forget to ask
To be stripped of your alter ego
Not come out in another Mask!
Shot out like a cannon ball
As mother lay there in her bed
Twisted and contorted
Push down hard the nurse had said
Audience at bottom end
Were quick to save the head
What a pair of lungs cried out
Went from purple blue to red
Cleaned up cord cut and swaddled
Poor child's hungry wants be fed
Mum and dad proud as can be
Holding babe that they have bred
