SONG
music
many beats
passion with feelings
memories remembered
waiting to be together
"My mind will keep our song playing."
I sing my song in celebration,
I sing my song for those who care.
The words resound through every nation,
I sing it loud so all may hear.
I sing for countless generations
Who've lived in ignorance and fear.
The words are plain, need no translation,
The theme is peace, the message clear.
One voice in song o'er all the others
May still be heard above the din.
Are we not all sisters and brothers,
Our roots the family of Man?
I sing of hope for our salvation,
My words, though weak, I pray they can
Reach out and teach that toleration
And peace on Earth's a better plan.
I hear them singing, just believe~just believe. Angels of all sizes were singing their hearts out, the heavenly choir with words they did weave.
The beautiful music and singing, just believe~just believe. It is heard loud and very clear, welcoming~comforting the angels did achieve.
As we stand at the pearly gates we hear, just believe~just believe. We wait our turn to be happy and not grieve, do we get in or must we leave.

The melody we thought forever plays
~ now haunts us both night and day
They wait their turn,
Watching from the sidelines.
Cheerfully chattering, they speak,
Perhaps of weather.
Then suddenly they’re off!
Swooping down, they glide,
Wings extended in crucifix,
They brake. Alighting softly
Onto the pavement.
Here there are seeds scattered.
Tossed each day by a frail hand
From the porch above.
There is a bond here. An understanding.
Food for song.
Cheaper than cable TV,
At times more entertaining.
They finish now. They’ve had their fill.
They launch together,
Land together,
Watch and wait together,
From the bushes at the side
Of the pavement below the porch.
Tomorrow the hand will come again
To pay them for their song.
Like a medieval
Of local forest woods
In raining dripping days
Melted by sunshine rays
In Sunny shinny phases
My wooden reading table
Has sailed through ages
My gray grandpa gave it his
My papa saved it me
My wooden reading table
Will yet another phase

US Verse, after Auden

Mortal, guilty, but to me
The entirely beautiful." - W. H. Auden
Verse has small value in our Unisphere,
nor is it fit for windy revelation.
It cannot legislate less taxing fears;
it cannot make us, several, a nation.
Enumerator of our sins and dreams,
it pens its cryptic numbers, and it sings,
a little quaintly, of the ways of love.
(It seems of little use for lesser things.)

The Unisphere mentioned is a spherical stainless steel representation of the earth constructed for the 1964 New York World's Fair. It was commissioned to celebrate the beginning of the space age and dedicated to "Man's Achievements on a Shrinking Globe in an Expanding Universe." The lines quoted in the epigraph are from W. H. Beauty rivals hummingbirds in flight
I’ll say that I’m not
But I think that I might

As the beats quicken
