Captus
Sentenced to the future,
for those sins unpunished now

Caught inside a fatal moment
—breaking sacred vows

Tax Return
I received a letter from the IRS
According to them, I’ve been overly blessed
No tax return

Will come and go, unpunished, at this address...

A false witness
Seldom goes unpunished,

So never profane
The name of a friend.

Guard your tongue
And choose your words,

Broken friendships
Sometime don't mend....

Premium Member Fault of Being Human
In the most anguished moments of my life
times when my mistakes cause me strife
I feel I deserve a birch wood beating
to go unpunished would be cheating
and then I recall
that through it all
with trepidation loomin'
I am only human...

King Makers
king makers huddle recessed in dark
creators of history shrouded in mystery
old and wisened like great oak trees
internally vibrant cunning and silent

no good deed goes unpunished
dark hands with gold bands
mystery men of renoun
never a sound speak in whispers

comes to them a spark
they feed the spark till it comes aflame
more they say till flames a roar
they plot and scheme hidden away from all mainstream...

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED

             A favor for a neighbor...
.
Following the map , listening to a tune
            Suddenly, a mishap, Car-jacked by a goon!
Took my keys and hit the breeze
Such a little punk, the jokes on you
When you open the trunk, Boo Hoo Hoo
            Squirt, squirt, squirt
EWWWW , Bet that Skunk Stunk!...

S)ilence is the end.

R)ibs are broken

W)rist's are bruised
H)ate engulfs you
A)buse is from you
T)humb's are sliced

T)oes are blue
H)ead has gashes
E)lbow's have rashes
Y)elling will not go unpunished

A)rm's are knifed up to the bone

E)ngulfed in horror is my life....

Premium Member Who Is That Masked Man
Who Is That Masked Man Miracle Man October 6, 2023 Many will see him as being another schnook, perhaps questioning if he’s ever had a real job. But in my mind I see an unpunished crook, someone with possible connections to the mob. Each day his cognizance needs clarifying, but in his world he’s convinced he’s grooving. He hesitates saying “if I’m lying I’m dying,” because he typically is if his lips are moving.

Power and Danger of the Mind
God only knows what power and danger
the human brain and mind proposes

If lead to believe that confession and
absolution from ones sins and bad deeds

Can simply be prayed away on any given
sunday

Or salvation can be bought
via donation

Then what is indeed to stop
any of doing bad instead of
good

If our deeds are to go unpunished
as they will always be forgiven

May as well just carry on regardless
like naughty children...

Bestow
no good deed goes unpunished
no bad deed unrewarded
just deciding which is what
the altruistic and the sordid

depends upon the angle of view
what an act is deemed to better
and who it might be bettered to
gain advantage, and who's the debtor

gray is life's chromatic scale
certainty colored by present perception
think our discernment to no avail
that may be our own self-deception

clarity is the provenance of youth
blurrier is wizened maturity's truth

Premium Member No Good Deed Goes Unpunished
I told her I would walk her dog,
She had been ill, was in a fog.
So off we went on our little jog
When Fido spied a pesky frog.
Off at a sprint, over a log,
And the two of us landed in a bog.
Clothing's wet, it's all a-sog
Because of this here blasted dog.
Neighbours eyes are all agog
As back up the street the two of us slog.
So the next time she offers a cup of grog
I'll not be suckered into walking the dog.
