Waking up is hard to do. More travails, the new day brings.
Going to bed is hard too. Life is once,
I do not want to miss anything....

Path of No Return
Our path have crossed
Yours and mine have shared
It etched, traverse and travails
We may tried curves
But, became, in point…
Of no return!...

sweeping along the crowded wisps
of bygone alleys and trodden pasts
gentle whispers of memories breeze by
teasing today's persistent travails
to rest, urging the now to flee
and into a cocooned closet to lie...

Live Carefully
Just live your life
You can make an impact
Take things one step at a time
And that is a fact
Obscurity may show its face
Along with travails and pitfalls
Go through that hazardous fire
And stand up tall...

Premium Member Weeds As Tall As Children
Weeds as tall as children
   Partially hide the dusty windows.
A long silence hangs
   Where once promise echoed.

Broken glass fills the street –
   Glittering like emeralds
To some – to a majority –
   Proving their travails....

We turned a knob, and ventured back, into the place, we dwelled Standing here, within these walls, ..a cottage small, accrued travails ago But clearly see that all is well, ...all is well, ...we need not come again

Not Rest Before Your Best
When things begin to get hot,
You reveal what you have got.
Problems don't by themselves rot
Like blood would itself clot.
Travails linger, not fade,
Until with them punches trade
It wouldn't be wise to rest,
Until one has done ones best.
Say whether its true or not
You're no baby still in cot...

Betty
Betty didn't came to her own wake
said she had other things to do
Didn't share the news with the mourners
she hadn't heard of her own demise

Wretched wet warm summers
clouds of turpentine
Going to see the river man
and tell of her past travails
Betty is wading in the bay
without a word to say
unaware she be missed...

Luciano Pavarotti (1935-2007)
Goodbye, Luciano,
easing through death's door,
no more thy voice shall soar.

Farewell, Luciano,
no longer croon ‘O Sole Mio’
to take thee back to Sorrento.

Adios, Luciano,
unto a peaceful slumber deep,
from the world's travails escape.

Hark! Enrico Caruso,
bid the angels welcome Luciano
into the heavenly choir in the sky....

Travails of Vivisection
The future dubs.
A pride is shattered.

The philanderer moon
sprawls over the
candlewick.

A ghost walks
through the wall.

A thin blade of
grass, holds the sun
for ransom.

Fireflies flutter in head
savagely.

I was not able to sleep.
What was the theme of the murder ?

No sugar, no salt
was worthy of death.

Wars
Hollow drops, hollow places
Eyes red, eyes red and dim
Vampires' wrath ignites
Terror trails without traces.

Blades' cut, blades so keen
Bloods everywhere, blood of colours
Helmets and arrows clashing
Slashing,slicing,slizzing on scene.

Wars travails, wars travel
Home away, home - less
Wail garments wear the day
Dread like doom's day of the devil....

Unconquerable Hope
The will to keep expecting the far
And celebrate it sometime in a bar
Honey-sweet news defying today’s anguish
And yesterday’s unanswered wish:
Igneous-hard belief that the overcast cloud
Won’t for too long remain proud…
Soon to its cruel tenure serve out
Unconditionally bowing out…

It is unconquerable hope
To in travails steer clear of dope....

Icicle hardens; Her prisoner wails. Soft dripped; Resentful his seasonal sun. Clung tightly winter, her grip again fails; Cheeks slip on puddles where four start to run. Years of denial their story entails – Captives held hostage by starry travails. 1/27/2017 Submitted for: 'A Rhyme in 60' Syllables checked on howmanysyllables.com

Walk With Me
Come walk with me, my love
Along life’s twisting trails
Each step a new adventure
Some joys and some travails

Let’s share each day together
Leave nothing good unsaid
Forever growing closer
Through all that lies ahead

So sing to me your sweet songs
To dispel the lingering fears
And I’ll gently take your hand in mine
As we journey through the years...

Longships
Casting
off the
shores,
bound for
faraway lands.
Setting
sail on
dark seas,
uncertain,
unknown
the travails
that await.
Crew steeled
for
adventure
exploration
fame
glory.
No
turning back.
Humanity
departing.
Longships
rising, slow
gracefully
plumes of
power
moving beyond
earthly bounds
out into the
cosmos.
Climbing the
ultimate
mountain.
Searching
exploration
triumph!...

The Accordionist
The accordionist (haikus)
To the accordionist playing on the streets of my hometown, Agrinio, Greece

Nectar of a tune.
A bee am I, harvesting
my memories’ buds.

A bitter tune.
Pollen on the wind’s eyes,
in the shape of tears.

Tripping the sound is
into the veins of my soul.
A rosy sunset.

Silence scented sound.
Aura of angels anoints
my prayers.

Sliding the tune is
Through the fingers of my heart.
Travails of a poem....

In My Sojourn
In my sojourn today
Friendly faces I seek,
Open welcoming hands,
Pathway arms to soft bosom.
Warm favor Cold vapor.

Silent hushes, Malevolent
benign.
Goodwill helps, joyous hearts.
Deep beings, not fickle.
Sensitive souls, truthful liars.
Active minds, bright spirits.

In my travails thence on,
Helping fangs I pray
Attack my every play.
Demure, not boisterous
Observant, not  thunderous.

Today, I crave like-minds....

Paradise Lost
It was very sad when divinely deserted
Hearts tremble at the wrath of a painful eviction
Rains of curses, woes and pains poured unlimited
It was very sad.

The reign of sorrows void gloomy and full of tension
The sight of demons, dark elemental excited
Rejoicing at the failure of man in submission.

In travails, agony and dark pains not lighted
A mighty fall of a formidable formation
Scattered off unto the enemies' ground unsighted
It was very sad....

Elysium
I'll lay down here and rest my head,
in this arc of stones I'll make my bed.
On the moss covered floor of the forest deep,
I'll close my eyes and fall asleep.
The stars shall be my counterpane,
and shelter me from gentle rain.
Moonbeams gild my tired eyes,
and breezes sooth me with their sighs.
No more for me the travails of life,
for nature shall become my wife.
Here, in the forest where wild things roar,
my heart will rest and ache no more....

Life and Destiny
Stormy sea causing loss of keel,
Ours is a journey not of own will.

Sent in with a set destiny,
Man marches on to fate’s beating drill.

Life, no more than an o’er-night’s stay,
A wayfarer, man must pay his bill,

His evils in hospice to heal,
Gulps piles of pills, still stays no less ill.

Yea, in an endless life’s journey
Filled with travails of labour and toil!

Cry Abba Father
Whenever fear knocks at my door.
I cry Abba Father and He is there for sure.
When life is overwhelming in the depth of night,
I cry Abba Father, and bask in His pure light.
When life's travails cause me to fail and gasp,
I cry Abba Father, His hand I reach and clasp.
No matter what life throws at me each day,
I cry Abba Father as each morning I pray.
I know that He will always be there.
My Abba Father, for me, will always care.

Strength
"Opportunities prevail,
Hidden in life travails

It’s our job to mine,
Those which define

Us, in our quest,
Each day blessed

That despite our struggles,
We can solve life’s puzzle

One piece at a time,
Celebrating a mosaic that’s mine

A portrait that is me,
For others to see

The wisdom of my choice,
Giving opportunity its voice

To succeed, not fail,
For I have the strength to prevail

Tomorrow and each day forward,
Knowing life is my reward"...

Ars Moriendi
It is gone from us
Between our fingers like sand
Ars Moriendi

We shall never more
Find purpose or grace for it
Midas immortal

Bartholome stays
In hovels and parliament
The blade shines the sun

O Yeats, it's worse, worse
For gyres multiply like wasps
On the children's eye

The city travails
And in every place you hear
The glass shattering

Something in labour
I can't define its presence
Too cautious my eye

But we shall not find
Not till the hourglass dries, that
Ars Moriendi...
