Seven sisters in topaz blue,
Dazzling in crystal Winter sky,
An eager hunter doth pursue;
Yet it's all in vain he doth try
To glory in polygamy
For gods said it's not meant to be!...

Rainbows
Rainbows of lightning
Amber gold
Topaz sun sighted
Colors glow
Egyptian magic
All I know
Honey-green static
Through window
Middle age mountains
I behold
Blue frigid fountains
In my soul...

Summer Gems

A ring of bright topaz
 crowned the ruby sun today
Opal rays danced
 On emerald leaves,
Played on sapphire seas
 Like bright diamonds of dew

November Stones
Tease, tempt, coax and cajole till purchased
And wrench the hearts of young and old
Blaze seated on rings and chains
As though culled from hot sun
In Shades bright or light
Red, blue, green, pink
Topaz stones
Glint like
Stars...

Floating Figure
Seraph in señora form
She moves. Nay, floats
Across opulent floors...
Swaying
Strolling
Sauntering
Her unnoticed, untouched outfit
touching touch-me-not touch
Her crystal topaz physique....

Searching
Something that’s unseen

Premium Member is she a soul reader
Her eyes are like glittering shards of light blue topaz
They see into my soul and pull out my hidden thoughts
I try to avoid her, but she is everywhere, appearing suddenly
Is she an angel, a soul reader or what?
I do not know
But here she comes now...

You must help me
I have been afflicted
Most horribly

Cant you treat me for it”?
He replied
“Because this is the Burns unit”...

Scattered shards, remnants of Eden,
Gathered to a ring of bright topaz
A simultaneous soliloquy of intentionality
At the crux of intersecting avenues.

What is that glow near yonder red leaf.
near a willow still sharing grief?
A gem, perhaps, or sunbeam
with drops of cinnamon.
I won't hazard guess,
but I confess
topaz gems
are nice
spice!

Eternal Blue
Blue against blue,
Mine are sea-like,
Yours more bright,
Fresh and planetary,
Worlds I know and
Love and explore.
No flowers or fruits
Are brushed with enough sky
To merit comparison.
Only nature’s strongest;
Sapphire,
Topaz,
Agate,
Can claim a likeness
To your eternal blue....

October's Treasures
In a sky of bluest topaz
I saw the citrine-shattered sun
Glean emeralds from each blade of grass
And gild the elm leaves platinum

Silence, save for the autumn breeze
And in my pockets, not a dime
But do not tell this poet, please
That October’s treasures can’t be mine....

Topaz Eyes
Cat or Dog? Oh No-
I want a panther
with more spots than I have
on his long lean body
no matter how much time
he spent sunbathing
in his youth.

Neatly aligned ears,
cosmetic frown
furrowed in his brow,
plank-like nose above
an I Mean Business
mouth, and OH!
those topaz eyes....

Premium Member My Artist Self
I have twenty-seven rings
Most never see daylight
lingering in my jewelry box

My two favorites are on my hands daily
one a red ruby, the other a blue topaz
with a rainbow opal band.

I have diamond rings somewhere too.
They do not have the color I crave.
My artist self needs these two....
