Harvest Moon Birthstone

Bright
leafs swirl
rapt torrents
o'er harvest moon
gemstone portent of
motley hued topaz glaze
nacreous in sullen haze
as grey dawn wail from tawny tree
house crib heralds wildlife orchard surge

Dear Howard, your expressive poem both creates and captures the mood of November, it feels topaz to me. Splendid poetry! Congratulations for your excellent win in Andrea's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
