Arms chopped off. 
By a tide of sand.
Reflections of uncollected water. 
You, hunter of flowers…
Oh, wharves! 
Oh, sea goings!

High wings.

But today it’s September and the oval autumn.

Tears sizzle-n-swelter
From the Arizona sun
While Mercedes, Bentleys,
And Porches proceed …
Homeless can’t … move on. 

Triple digit asphalt
Skin turns a crusty shade
Passer “buyers” ignore strife
Pass judgement everyday.  

Issues on the street
Momma holds a sign and prays
“Please,” she begs for Mercy,
“Send an Angel my way.”...

In a blister of heat,
Sparks seem to spray
And bounce off the street.

Shadows are twice as black!
The windows sparkle gold.
The earth seems about to crack--
Frightening to behold!

Backed against a wall,
Moving along its side,
I give a desperate call;
There's nowhere to hide,

"Help!"  I cry.
"Who stole the night?
I don't wanna die!

Night, just sleeping in a dream of land
Thousand of eyes look at me, evil kinds
My heart beats, I can’t breathe, swelter
My eyes opened. Death’s  smile arriving

My room was full of scorpions, all looked at me
Slowly they climbed at me and covered me.
This is the last memory from my life. Goodbye.
The smell of death became fog, a cloud my life

Once bold,
bright
yellow
now, fuzzy white.

Planted by chance of wind,
unlike the impatiens
flourishing in the shade.
Blow far away.

Swelter in the sun,
in fear of being spotted
lodged between rocks,
or in a crack of a driveway.

Perhaps, a child may mistake you
for a flower,
in his ignorance 
of youth.

While shedding petals,
always to be a rose.
Surely, a thorn to a dandelion,
removed from the garden of beauty....
