Snail
Each morning without fail,
I see my little,brown-shelled snail,
Plodding along with his home on his back,
Leaving a long, tiny, silver track,
I think he likes blazing a trail....

A Shot
A Shot

A shot
A bang
Too hot
He sang
Too cold
She yelled
So bold
They shelled
A shotgun
To full
“The fun,
“Not dull
“Makes me
“Happy to be”

Premium Member Grey Shelled Moon
Early spring morning.
Is it singing just for me?
Tiny flecks of misty magic
tumbling from its beak.
Perhaps its screaming out for mercy.
Beneath a broken wing...
or offering a lullaby to a grey shelled moon....

Yours, the Pale-Shelled Cameo, Dear
Yours, the pale-shelled cameo, dear
Moon-skied, Night-worn.
Hung from its pure starred necklace.
Pearls of the high-born!

Of you what's mythic featured
Afar, as dream-lit
Alike within clasping's reach.
Alike to claim it....

Pillar For My Foundation
Sun sets swiftly for lack of fuss
Insidiously dark after dusk
As I retire in a shelled husk
In contemplation of my fate

Lift me up high upon your shoulders
Height that awakens the beholder
My battleground goes soft and molders
I'm reassured it's not too late...

For Children of War and Other Deceptions

The load of time
weigh heavy
on the yokes of life;
the unshelled shelled.
Gone.
Innocence of children
preyed upon;
life failed to root itself.

Janus face war genuflects
craving forgiveness;
praising its necessity....

Nutty as a fruitcake

No one wants to be; Nuts

Normally bring to mind

Nature's hard-shelled tree fruits,

Nutritious and yummy.

Naughtily I will add

Nude men are showing two!

Breaking the Mold
Clay mold
matters not humidity
Skin taut
worries not frigidity
Sky grays
in a mood morbidity
Drops fall
on my skin's rigidity

Softens now
arms and legs begin to crack
Eyes blink
surely there's no turning back
Move me
but please leave my soul intact
De-shelled
left in love to be exact....

The Nearness of You
Wondering where you are tonight?
Can't feel the warmth of your sight
Your wings that cuddle me under the moonlight
Your heat that incubates me in spotlight.
I'm a shelled-duckling not so pretty
My little heart beats so fast and plenty
Nearness of you I pray for each day
Your body to stay beside me all day!...

Call-Backs,Fallen Nests, Empty Nest, Snakes Alive
A nesting is but invaded
All nestlings abandoned
But ‘four’ eggs shelled?

Mother bird is gone
Many a tuft of feathers
Drying in the winds!

Broken twigs have bent
The nest will sit misshapen
Under treed branches above!

Mother overhead flees
Skyward tweeting call-back cries
A hungry snake waits!...

Tamper With the Lock
who touch me
with out me
giving permission

rub on my body
and had my nerve's
twitching

jump on my
bed
and took turns
just kicking

snub on probaly
when the bird
was cooking in the kitchen

hail cover the ground
as hell
bubble in side

shelled under
the town
as shells
stumble
my pride...

Shelling of Shoals
<>SHELLING OF SHOALS

oval souls
bleached out pearls
shelled stone hearts
obscured cryptic
undercurrents
seaslime backslides
enticing
Mermaids vice

whiteskull prey lays
shelved on shoals
seaweed eaten
greentail beaten
tidalpools black
sailor coldhole
burial ground

Turtle Soup
I love to slurp up turtle soup
It always makes me want to whoop

Soft-shelled turtle or red snapper
Cut up and stripped of their protective wrapper

Like a thick gravy with turtley parts,
Little beady eyes and turtley hearts;

Chopped up into turtle stew,
Come on people try something new.

Stands Out In My Mind
Stands Out In My Mind

There are things that stand out in your mind;
When in museum and medal that I did find
That my whole attention had held and held
And over to it my attention I had shelled
Person who had worn it was maligned.

Guess that does happen when in wars you
are fitting and in surgery your tongue you
have been biting.

Rock Concert
An octopus asked
a squid for some ink, to pen
a tentative tune.

Some turtles shelled out
for tickets sold by sharks.
Urchins snuck in for free.

The Sun dimmed the lights
on the Atlantic stage, as
dolphins waved moonbeams.

An orchestra of oysters,
pearl jammed with the mussels and
the clams crowd surfed.

A cool crustacean
grabbed the mic while a cod played
the bass on the rocks....

wide awake
when the wick is lit
what a wicked thing
this child has done

the child’s toes

wicked kitty

where
toilet paper
explores
the tree

Gift of the fathers
Stand before others
Hands of the mothers
Hold us together
Ten story oddity
Steel shelled monstrosity
Like organs dwell
Cubicle cell
The nervous system
Organic hell
Paper blood
A computer god
Timeless toil
Ignorant clock
Its not life
It’s your job
War is waged
A profitable crusade
Overtime, time saved
An epic escapade
Dig holes, deep as graves
Line your coffins
With dollars paid...

Heart Blades
We shelled out
the pieces of our hearts;
scattered on the floor,
sharp bits of doubt
and war-
Slice your wrists with them all,
the fragments of my love and tears..
the sorrows you couldn't persevere
sprung red leaves from the wrists,
the bloodiest autumn-
Night brings polar pains
that run down my spine
and through my veins
as I hear his footsteps run up the walls
every stone cold midnight
thoughts of bane madness until dawn....

Premium Member Zellas Adopted
Zella’s Adopted Written: by Miracle Man December 6 2020 Almost daily, Geese come in scattered flight, to her front yard pond past break of morn. From where they flocked for respite last night, they honk for a ration from her shelled corn. A neighbor’s cow dogs show up each morning, seeming amiable, that’s why she would risk it. Both just appear without prior warning, like statues, they wait for a day old biscuit.

Insurance
Paying for insurance
Often seems like such a waste.
The money that you pay and pay
Can never be replaced.

Insurance on your home or car
Is only worth it when
There’s damage from an accident,
Which happens now and then…

Or maybe never, in which case
You’ve shelled out all that dough
For absolutely nothing;
That’s the way things mostly go.

Except, of course, when things go wrong
And there’s a huge expense.
At times like those, insurance
Makes an awful lot of sense....
