Shallow Whispers
Heart dwells in fire,
A rain of words approaches it,
Shallowness ignites despair,
The wind of shadows
Blows away the ashes....

Listen to poem:
dwell too long,
freshness 'tis gone
lingering on 'tis loitering
skim the top for cream
fish shallow with one
throw of the cast net
then move on,
before the one moment
longing elsewhere 'tis gone
blessed be, the shallow
touch and feel,
bounteous in harvest....

Room To Breathe Section At the Gallery Thoughts
Seated, room to breathe
There is shallowness present
For I feel rushed

If I close my eyes
What if I were whisked away
To rest or torment

The minutes count down
I still want to lose myself
Let me be alone

I am surrounded
Those that seek tranquility
Stolen by seeking...

Pattern Wave
Finding a way out of the maze
Depends on how one is raised
Opportunity casually dressed
Laid in books fine print
Leaving choice up to you
Filling the slate with new
The better the information
Word relations
Applications
mesmerized
Shallowness defused
Heart staking spool...

Dissapointed Ghandhi
I let my beliefs down
I did not apply them
Then who the hell am I?
Where's my identity
Where's my dignity
Am I even a person?
Just a walking blob without a head and heart
Instead of joy abounding there's overflowing tears
Instead of satisfaction there's incompleteness
Instead of filling there's shallowness...

Writer's Block
All white;
nothing;
blank
face to face
looking back at me.
Up there
nothing but black
races through my mind.
No thoughts,
no sound,
just the shallowness
of what wants to be there.
Hand
beating pen to paper;
anxious to write;
to spill its passion
from left to right.
Pen, hand, and mind
unable to write;
Writer's block....

Weeping upon the pillow of hiding
To disappear while each tear washes away
The dirty laundry stained with apathy and rejection
Dwelling in the temple of our shallowness

Sunrise beach walkin'
no need for talkin'
when elements transcend all language.

My hand in your hand hold
seashells unswept by calm
receding tide
still swelling.

Burnt umbers stroke aqua
marines break through gull
wing thunder haloed
in hallowness.

No space for shallowness
much less for callowness
hope for tomorrow struts sure gently
proffered, dawn's break of night.

Happy
I wish I was young and still drinking
Where others would see my soul
And feelings were thought together
for shallowness meant to role

That all of my troubles were sexual
and life meant I'm easy that way
For others to see me as special
and happiness had it's say

That all of my time was as busy
as the work that I do today
When proudness was chaised for better
and loss was left making my way...

Waves around impinging ferociously
the seashore fiercely anticipating
To settle personal retribution
in darkened murderous circumstances.
Night's sincere sentinel exhibiting
the water’s shallowness environments
to water vehicles incessantly
to avert dangerous situations.

Smoke and Shadow
Smoke and Shadow Lady
     Chasing rainbows
          In the dark

Surround yourself in shallowness
     Too deep
          For even Mermaids
               Such as you...

And mix your potions carefully
     My Lady-of-the-Miles
Smoke and Shadow quicksand
                                              Waits...
With Night Mist Webs
Creating stories
Night Mist dark

In
In

In spite we conquer and in love we hate
In silence there is a question and in noise we hesitate
In laughter we imagine and in tears we extrapolate
In wisdom we solve and in ignorance we exaggerate
In good there is hope and in bad we degenerate
In memories there is no doubt but in the future we annunciate
In depth there is substance and in shallowness we adulterate
In our souls we are strong but in mind we cannot communicate....

Recall
Conceive in a moment of silence
You came to thought
To feed birds of desire in drought
With hands; of bare
Melted shields; of frosty ice
With pair of wings
Played in air
On peripheries
Of pain
In rings and raise
In a book of shallowness
Of my pale
And bore
Added
A blossom of rose
In gallery of rimes; old and cold
Conjured you the paint
An art
A sense of love
With semaphore of heart
Make the scene alive
Again...

Parting Waters
I’m thankful for your tears
For they have made me tender
The heartfelt love over the years
Do I deserve any of it, I wonder?

You could halt me like rumbling thunder
Inundate my shallowness like a burst dam
I could have drowned had I stayed under
Oh how I regret having caused them

I behaved as though you didn’t matter
Meanwhile you were crying an ocean
Night and day, praying for an ever after
Parting waters for a fool’s devotion...

Existence
Clarity; what is it?
Perfection of mind
Beauty all around
Infinitive endless time

Purity; what is it?
A breath of fresh air
Clear water we drink
Warmth the suns glare

Perfection; what is it?
Shallowness within
Judgement from others
Weakness of sin

Innocence; what is it?
Smiling beautiful child
Vultures of society
Ruins the beguiled

Lost; where am I?
Identity of soul
Perplexed confusion
Strength and control...

Words
Words now are leaves waiting for the fall
I have seen them green
But loved them gold most of all
When trees were naked before the eyes
And words were tattered so with lies
And faith shook
The trees barren. I pined for fruit
Of lips of truth, or breast of purity
I hungered for love
And saw nudity that tells of shallowness
The only deep soil left is my heart
Words are being beaten into plough
But I prefer the two-edged sword
Since I am not a man of war....

Premium Member May We Love Each Other
When the moon arises, let our hearts, rise, too!
What good be your heart, if it has no warmth?
Just wooden and fully lying?
You’d crush your friend’s heart,
Popularity first??
What about that thing called caring?

How about genuine love?
Instead of canned laughter?
How about more of divine, you?
Than shallowness, that just burns.
Or mean comments or arrogance?
Those poets need their own ship.

Premium Member Discovering Myself Through Seasons
I searched laboriously for you in the cold winter rains,
shivering from the shallowness.
I chased you on the hot, sultry days of summer,
feeling your presence hovering over me like a winged angel
with a message from God.

I felt you change me during the reflective, transitional days of fall,
with a promise of better times and abundant colors and joy.
I found you, though, quite unexpectedly in spring blossoms.
In my newness of life, for the first time, I felt whole....

Depth
Her fingers stroking my hair
and the beam of ray peeping
    through the window melt
    at this hour of shallowness.

I think of a mimosa blushing.

    Leaning against the wall
    she swallowed me
in to her bones and marrow, once.
A brimming river burst in our veins.

    I think of a fossil
    something hollow

    Out side the window
    the river lies there.
    A sinew just pulsating,
draining into the crust of the earth....
