Parting Waters

I’m thankful for your tears For they have made me tender The heartfelt love over the years Do I deserve any of it, I wonder? You could halt me like rumbling thunder Inundate my shallowness like a burst dam I could have drowned had I stayed under Oh how I regret having caused them I behaved as though you didn’t matter Meanwhile you were crying an ocean Night and day, praying for an ever after Parting waters for a fool’s devotion

All love starts in the shallows. If all is right, you move together into the depths where moon and stars celebrate the earth's true light.
