I have two dogs named Duke and Buddy
they love to get dirty and muddy,

they go in the lake,
they come out and they shake,

Now they look more like silly putty....

I taught I taw dat ole putty cat
stick his tail in a socket, like dat.
His eyes bulged like a cow,
His hair isn't sleek now,
Uh oh ! look what he did on the mat!

Premium Member A Fetching Feline
Our knees freely sweat
  and our hearts go thump
    For a fetching feline
    we plunge deep into debt

  We think we're so macho
  nerves and muscles of steel
    Truth is we're like putty
in the path of high heels

  They're stronger than we are
  That much I'll concede...
    But why must they make
    our pocketbooks bleed...

The Fallacy Within
Smiles-
On the surface shine so bright,
But rotting within.

The dentist comes and saves
The smile, but leaves a fallacy
Within.

Fake-
Putty packed in to fill the hole, normal now.
Yet never feeling the same.

The tongue slides over
The stranger. Not accepting-
Yet rejection is no option.

Stuck with the fake
Injection, fake happiness,
Fake smiles....

Premium Member The Lake
Sterling white
Timid browns
The lakes are like putty
And I don't write poems like this anymore
Trusting in nothing
The nothing of the lake
Rippling waves
Wakening grooves
The lake does not move
Unless the sun calls it
The moon pulls it
Or the clouds fill it
Or man needs it
The lake is the river
Is the land, is the living
Sterling white
It catches mens' eyes....

Premium Member Rufi In My Wine -Abridged Version-
I let an opportunist within my circle of trust

He slipped a rufi in my wine
I was too naïve to question
my sudden lapse of memory

I tremble at what might have been

I was like putty in his hands
it happened so easily
I was so naïve

My destiny was in the hands of
someone who could not be trusted
my luck hanging on a string

A Mother's Home Cements a Family
A Mother's Home Cements A Family

Foundations laid in early years,
Walls protecting.
Wood, Brick, Stone,
Pillars of wisdom and inner strength.

Structure contains compassion, love,
Unconditional support.
Occasional putty filling cracks,
Intimacy granting shelter.

Doors swinging open and shut,
Always welcoming, forgiving.
Keys open countless memories,
This is not a house... but a home....

People Are Crazy
People are loopy
People ain't right
Inside of their heads
Out of their minds

People are nutty
Loco coco bean
Imaginary buddies
Putty for brains

People are batty
Fruit loops that fly
Come in different colors
Confetti minds

People are special
They say with a wink
Jumped the train trestle
Over the brink

Pick one or the other
No answer is wrong
It's all the above
When people are off...

Dimples and Similarities
Today he says to me
Mom you are a cutie putootie
I say so are you my sweet delicious
Where did you get those dimples??
Must have gotten them from dad....

He just smiles mischieviously.
Knowing dad hasn't a dimple on his slim body.
He gives me the bambi eyes and
I ask have you used that look on the teacher?
Then say she would be putty in your hands with that look.

He says, no mom I save it for you!!...

Premium Member Third Floor and Celery
Third Floor

Reality distraction
staples in the wall of my loneliness
plastered over
to gain permanency
but as a lightweight spackle,
haphazardly poised on the rusty putty knife,
is used to smooth out
the wall
with childlike enjoyment
staples find freedom
flying...

down below someone utters
uninterruptible profanity

Celery

hard times
and they told me those are
the celery sticks cracking
kid...

Do with me what you will,
I'll obey your demands.
A puppet on a string,
I'm putty in your hands.

An endless mystery,
Each day it's something new.
Your wish is my command,
Just tell me what to do.

An Angel of the night,
A Goddess dressed in red.
The Queen that rules my heart,
I'll kneel and bow my head.

Like a slave at your feet,
I'm here upon your stage.
So come and tie me up,
And put me in your cage....

Premium Member Talk A Little Bit Nerdy Star Wars Tribute
Talk a little bit nerdy just for me,
let’s watch ‘Star Wars’ all night long;
I’ll be your Rebel princess faithfully;

Bury my moan in the theme song,
can you handle a geeky kind of kink?
The cinematic innuendo let’s prolong;

Putty in your hands before you blink,
you can be part of my wildest dream;
Each scene you recite I’m on the brink;

‘Imperial March’ hits my bloodstream,
keep up with the beat make me scream....

Premium Member Mere Putty After He Smiles
Fate has me in her grasp
I do not want to care about him
But I cannot let go
I am on a train to nowhere

And yet just a tiny smile
And there is a glimmer of hope
That he is the one
That this is my destiny

Just one tiny smile
I am so easy
Tossed and turned
by fate, traveling fast to a destiny
unplanned by me

You have to help me.
You have to guide me.
You have to be in charge.
I am mere putty after he smiles....

Premium Member My Grandpa's Tool Bench
My grandpa has a tool bench
With gadgets, tools and such
Shiny metal objects
And things I cannot touch

Lots of different wrenches
Hammers, saws and pliers
Putty knives and levels
Scissors, rope and wires

Many rows of little jars
Filled with nails and screws
Each one labeled perfectly
In case you need to choose

He says someday he’ll teach me
How to handle all this stuff
But right now I can only look
Until I’m tall enough....

Premium Member Words Dive Bomb Me
Words dive bombed my hands and my feet
Pelting me like missiles.
Needles going into my pores.
I screamed.
I could not fend them off.
It felt like acupuncture on speed.

The words were scary and mean
Decidedly determined to hurt, horrify and humiliate me
I was putty in their perfect, putrid, pelts.
I begged for mercy.
They made me pick up a pen.
They forced me to write.
Ouch! One just zinged my ear.
Apparently I have not satisfied them yet…....

Premium Member In a Rhyming Mood Today
I am in a rhyming mood today
My pen won’t leave me alone I fear.
She wants to laugh and hop and play.
I’m putty in hands, it’s clear.

There is no way I can shoo her away.
I am at her mercy, her lump of clay.
She’s coming up with ideas proud and quick.
Some are wonderful, others pretty thick.

I hold onto the pen so tight.
My dictionary is here, helping to make things right.
Sorry friends, cannot come out to play.
We’re on a roll, so stay away....

Gummy Bear
My brain is filled with sticky stuff today
and thoughts will not come out.

Sorry sisters and brothers.
The want is within
and I try to nausea:
I pinch my nose purse my lips
shut tight my eyes and blow fish.

A hint of wit in the silly putty?
Something worth script?

No!
A metaphoric fart judders my cheeks.
Squeezed out is an empty wish
for metrical structure.

My head is hopeless.
Gummy; bare.

Forgive me Voltaire.

My brain is brim sticky
and I cannot share
a poem today....

Be Your Own Hero
She was like putty in their hands,
hanging onto every word spoken from their lips.
They held the power to mold her into any mood:
anxious, amused.
bewildered, blissful.
cynical, cheerful.

But no more.

She has ripped herself from the toxic ties they had on her life,
and now, she is the inspiration for the smile
painted on her own face.
She is no longer the moon
depending on others to illuminate her world.
She is now the sun,
and she shines with her own light....
