Rufi In My Wine -Abridged Version-

I let an opportunist within my circle of trust

He slipped a rufi in my wine
I was too naïve to question
my sudden lapse of memory

I tremble at what might have been

I was like putty in his hands
it happened so easily
I was so naïve

My destiny was in the hands of
someone who could not be trusted
my luck hanging on a string

One's circle of trust is such a vulnerable place. To abuse that vulnerability with drugs is deplorable. Glad you escaped and can write a cautionary tale for others to heed. Blessings, friend ~ John

This happened to me and also to my daughter. You can never be too trusting. We have to always pay attention. I hope you enjoyed St. Patrick's Day Line. xxoo

I like the metaphor here, Line. True story? How horrible some people can turn out to be

True story - thankfully very old story.

This is seriously serious; the ones who are fooled are usually the naïve who would have never suspected. Sadly.

Also did not know what a rufi is, sounds as if it could make us putty in the wrong hands! Imaginative poem, Blessings Line Jenny

Line, I don't find this a frightening cautionary tale, except maybe that the heart is dosed, as others have commented. I see an interesting metaphor born out by your line 'I was like putty in his hands'. -Richard

I have had some wild stuff put in my drinks. I do not know what it was, but a friend saved me from any damage he had in mind. Panagiota xx
