Though we promise ourselves that we’ll try it,
So let us eat, drink, and be merry,
For tomorrow we diet....

prescription, funny, humor, humorous,
I awaited, from my Doctor Quills,
A prescription for medicinal pills
- the pills were applied
- but I about died
When I had received his pill bills!
I got a bad case of the avian flu
It's a bad case and the prescription is you
There's a bird out there that's gotten me
That writes mad rhymes to a Rotten T...
But only until I dream
of this expansion.

Into the locker, longing for loneliness.
Bang against the wall, waiting for the weekend.
Scared fearful, frightened flight.
Home alone, anger alienation.
Pain inside, prescription pills.
Sleep, silently snoring.
January & February this year,
prescription lenses lost. I count
the cost (it cost me dear).
A place for everything
and everything in its place,
my grandmother said,
but I only know
where my glasses are
when they're on my face....
IT'S THE WAY THAT YOU SAY IT
Experience overrules prescription of form
when euphony carries off a poem beyond the norm
a poulter's measure is a couplet form p(couplets of 12 syllables, alternating with 14,often used for serious statements or for burlesque.
Brian Strand 2011...
Ignorance is a flaw
Which a prescription can be written for
One for compassion and empathy
And a large kindness suppository !
Another prescription for education
Understanding,tolerance and patience
A blood test to extract cruel
No longer an ignorant fool!!...
prescription, hope, introspection, people,
from her handbag
she took some
while some frustrated
crawled up the ladder
in her silk stockings
and began sucking
at her clitoris
as she sipped
on her coffee
and speared the final
remains of the stale
chocolate cream cake...
Beautiful babies blowing bubbles,
Terrible teens tempting troubles.
Parent's plaguing problems perplexing
Viewing various values vexing.
Doctors diagnose diseases.
Potent potion prescription pleases.
Debating difficult diagnosis,
Desperately diluting doses.
Don't Give Up
I do not know?
Crash dive, come alive,
sinking low, want to grow,
body numb, she's so dumb,
take five, no hard drive,
find the will, prescription refill,
heart throb, don't sob,
feeling stuck, more bad luck,
hospital bed, look ahead,
turn the page, learn with age,
stay true, break through....
The Best Medicine
Let out a laugh if you’re lousy,
Add some amusement to aches,
Utter an outburst when under the weather,
Giggle your way through the shakes,
Howl if you’re feeling heart-sore,
Titters are good for infliction,
Enfeebled and exhausted? Try some elation,
Roll in the aisles, my prescription.
prescription, 11th grade, appreciation, grandchild, grandfather, love, thanksgiving,
Back home from the hospital, grandpapa
spreads his arms wide.
The best meds
are free -
to be fulfilled.
It's a bless-ed thanksgiving homecoming.
