~Haiku contest by Rick Parise
pompous pretender
poses purposely pious
patiently preying
(note: Think of a praying manthis and some who wear clearical garb)
His writing was pompous and verbose
Why wouldn’t it be?
He writes like he speaks
He appears to be a loquacious windbag which he is
Simple thing and ordinary people
most are humble and discreet
they don't have the rude, pompous
false charm of the bourgeoisie...
Samuel Langhorne Clemens
had a wit as acidic as a lemon
to many pompous people he was a pain
especially with his pen name Mark Twain
Orgulous Pete was pompous and proud
Declaring this and that and always loud
Pontifical in every mighty endeavor
Sad part is, he was not smart or clever
His inspiration, was expressed in a sea of pompous words that had his poetic genius drowned!

Pompous owner of the sky
Melts everything he touches

Ladybug with loads of brilliant sass
Went night fishing and caught a bright blue bass
Show and tell worthy, the top of the class
She is pompous now, that arrogant …….
Pompous city dwellers,
pretentious rock doves now
parade around like a
popinjay or fancy
peacock, and yet, they're not
persnickety poopers:
pooping on everything.
Selfish Sir had a certain profligacy
To take advantage of plebians like me,
His pompous tastes were exquisite.
He drained us on each visit.
We had to eliminate him as a guest, you see.
Politicians are pompous jokes;
not often are they just plain blokes.
They legislate pure ignorance,
while folks prosper on common sense.

Alas, my wife, your verbose superfluity
Displays an obstinate incongruity
It's just word play hide and seek
Be succinct when you speak
Ok—you're a pompous ass in perpetuity!

LAUREL was a man with not much class
And HARDY was known as a pompous ass
Stan can’t keep his big mouth shut
Ollie would strike a stinging cut
“Another fine mess…,” he would always sass
eclipse
erase
shiver
deliver
gaze
& masticate
then bombard
the
pompous

lush
&
organic

Shiny silver bullet opens to reveal pompous red cream;
cream that is spread like hot melting wax upon a plump young canvas;
A canvas that must walk the streets at night to be viewed for money.
Pompous and blatant he preached
Rambled, cajoled
Until he was stripped of all his clothes
And, holier-than-thou
Exposed him in his own reality
In his sheer nakedness
And finally total silence
Pompous yam stuck his tummy out big and bold
It was not a young fresh belly, rather rotund and old.
He is so arrogant, he thought we would all like to see.
His rump-like rounded tummy; he’s full of idiocy.

Draggletailed drippy dreary Doris Mable did not fit in
With her uppity, snobby, snooty, pompous pampered kin
The kids said Aunt Doris Mable, you can sit at our table
They had knowledge of a babe, a manger, and a stable
So pitiful
grasping at the lives we chanced
those who survived
130 thousand forgot
so soon

Roger rabbit ran as fast as he could
Moving merrily
Jumping joyfully
Around and around.
Searching solely for Jessica rabbit
Late lost in time
Suddenly seeing she was not what she seemed
Pretty prim pompous Jessica was a witch
I let this man into my life
Narcissistic, pompous, preening
Speaking foolishly of things unfair
As I didn't get the meaning
Nothing spoken but hot air
Incredible enormous vanity
Things said I couldn't bear
You know it was INSANITY
